Every single one of those Poles had an amazing story just to GET to england, then they turned around and joined a Polish Unit to fight their way back into Poland, then they had to wait 50 years of Soviet Domination to get their country back.
I hope some are still alive to see it.

My father was perhaps one of them since he was there during the war. He was a polish submariner and he married in Glasgow :) Thank you for the viewing

My granddad was Polish I think he came from Warsaw and I think his unit might have been in Scotland though I am unsure because my granddad died before I was born. He was in the Polish Cavalry then I think his unit was disbanded and he joined the Polish Infantry while serving in Scotland he met and married my granny and my granddad settled in Edinburgh where he went to become a chef working in a restaurant called The Beehive in the Grassmarket in Edinburgh he worked there until he retired.

I like how they said "good evening" at the end of the clip, they sounded tired, that English lesson might have been pretty long.

its is indeed very likely to be Douglas where the poles were stationed soon after landing from France, still equipped with french uniforms before the issue of british battle dress uniforms. It is however condemning of the English press to describe it as England when indeed it is Scotland... or at the very least Britain. It simply tarnishes the memory of all the brave Scots servicemen man and women who served Britain in the cause for freedom in WW2.. NOT England .1st-mac.com ( polish tribute )

Hitler told Gobels in an off hand jest that shows some insight to the fortitude of the polish soldier of ww2;::'Give me Polish soldiers and German technology, and I'll conquer the whole planet.

Skomentuj ten film... Zgadza sie! Na zamku w Edynburgu jest nawet gablota z polskim mundurem i adnotacja, ze Polacy byli lubiani ;)

We have to remember that back in the day 'England' was used, and accepted, as a shorthand for the UK as a whole (however jarring now), without any particular disrespect intended; plus, it might just be a statement of misinformation for any interested parties trying to locate Polish forces within the UK . . .

Musieli być niedawno ewakuowani, gdyż umundurowani są jeszcze w mundury francuskie.

I think you have to go a Loooong way to claim the Yanks sold out the Poles at
Yalta. Poland WAS after all, between Germany and Russia, and 2,000 miles
from Britain and 12,000 miles from America. How exactly was the west
supposed to win there, and save Poland?

And yet again, ignorant english people over look the efforts of Scotland in the war, how dare they refer to the United Kingdom as "england" all the time. Do they not know what "UNITED kingdom" means?.
