Minho can belt...he just doesn't get a lot of opportunity in their Korean albums. He gets more in their Japanese albums which is awesome! I love all three songs but then again, there's nothing i dislike!
Yeah, that's Han So Hee, she was in Shinee's MV in 2016, then got her first drama roll (a supporting roll) in 2017 and moved on from there.
You're right about the sound in the Winter Wonderland clip. If you see at the bottom it says 'Documentry of Shinee World 2017'… Shinee were planning, as they've done in the past, to film the concert DVD at the end of the tour, during the grand finale at the Tokyo dome. Sadly, Onew wasn't able to participate in that concert, so Shinee scheduled a new Tokyo dome date, an encore concert, for February 2018 and delayed the DVD filming till everyone could be there. As we all know, that didn't happen, and that concert had a completely different character than the rest of the tour. They did film the DVD, titled 'From Now On' and it's heartbreaking and beautiful. As a bonus content, instead of the typical ~20 min behind the scenes compilation from the tour, SM used way more of the content they'd filmed during the tour and included this extended 'Documentry' of the tour to show all 5 members. It was never filmed to be released as proper concert clips, so the quality is not the same.
Tell Me What to Do is def one of my fav SHINee MV (and song). I'm surprised youbreacted to SHINee Jp concert performances, wow. If you haven't reacted to Moon River Waltz SWC IV Todome, please do check it out.
I can barely hear jonghyun's resonance in there too, especially Diamond Sky performance in that same concert, the music drowned out so much

You missed out on two of their MVs that came out before 1 of 1. Downtown Baby and Kimi no Sei De. Both japanese releases.
Part of the reason why the audio sounds the way it does in SHINee's "Winter Wonderland" performance is because I'm pretty sure this concert had a live band, so the band overpowered the vocals a little. But if you really want to hear their vocals, check out the "Winter Wonderland" MV.

If you notice, the "Winter Wonderland" clip says it's from SHINee's documentary of the making of footage from the concert, so it wasn't really official concert footage. That's why the audio isn't remastered and recorded to showcase their singing properly. As usual, SHINee had intended to film their final night of their SHINee World 2017 concert, at the Tokyo Dome, which would have had much better audio. However, due to a legal scandal that Onew was involved in during this time, he wasn't able to participate in the last night of the concert when it was originally scheduled to take place. Therefore, the concert was rescheduled for February 2018. But Jonghyun died December 2017, so the SHINee World 2017 concert DVD was never made. Although the other SHINee members wanted to honor Jonghyun and Shawols so they still held the rescheduled concert and made a special DVD for that concert.
Their SHINee World 2018: The Best From Now On concert -- which was the first concert SHINee held after Jonghyun's death -- was held only about 2 months after he died, but it had been planned for months prior to that, so the concert was sold out. Even through their grief, the members didn't want to let the fans down and they decided they would continue the concert as planned. Their SHINee World 2018 was more of a memorial and celebration than a concert. Prepare yourself when you get to that concert because it's super emotional.

I don't know if it Han So Hee's first project or debut, but this was certainly the first major project she did and then went on to do more acting roles in dramas.

Here are some fun facts about SHINee's "1 of 1" MV: "1 of 1" came out in 2016 and it is the title track on SHINee's 5th full length Korean album. SHINee debuted on May 25, 2008, (5/25). In this MV there were 25 girls. In other words, 5 members + 25 girls = 5/25. All the girls in this MV are models, so that is why they don't really dance, and if you notice, most of the girls are taller than the SHINee members LOL -- but that's OK because it fits the theme of the MV well. Yes, the reason why the MV has this look and feel is because the whole album has a retro '90s theme. For example, in the '90s often the girls that were featured in MVs were well known models and actresses, not backup dancers. The MV was supposed to have that slightly awkward, unpolished look and feel to it because it was part of the retro aesthetic. Also, if you notice, either the time stamp on the MV or the time stamp on the song is exactly 5:25 as well.
As someone who was a teenager in the '90s, I can attest to the fact that this whole project is the perfect example of the '90s. Everything, from the look of the set with the all-white background to the clothes everyone wore, to their dance moves, to the video editing and the sound of the song, was all '90s. They even released some of their albums on cassette tape as part of a limited collector's edition to further celebrate the '90s theme.
It's amazing how every song SHINee releases is very unique and unlike any other, and yet, every time, no matter what, it always has that very SHINee feel.
Thank Key for all the fashion in this MV. As SM's director of fashion, Key, in consultation with their stylist, was the one who picked out the outfits and styled everyone for this MV, including the models' outfits. And he pulled together the perfect '90s looks. :D (He spent some time in middle school -- before becoming a trainee with SM at around age 14 -- studying in Australia and the U.S. Which is why he is fluent in English and is so into western culture.)
I heard Minho say once that he dyed his hair blond for this comeback because his mom told him he should do it. Appreciate Minho's hair while you can because, yes, there has only been a handful of times in the past 15 years that Minho has ever dyed his hair any other color besides brown or auburn. And when he has, it doesn't stay that color for more than a few weeks. :D As you may know, Minho is a lead actor in a lot of K-dramas and movies. So, one of the reasons why I think he doesn't dye his hair as often as other idols, is because of his acting roles. The majority of the roles that he plays are boy next door-type characters or historical dramas, etc. so, he needs to look as average as he can. (Or, at least as average as a guy who was born with model good looks can anyway. LOL) When not working with SHINee he is almost always working on his next drama or movie.
Onew sprained his ankle in concert right before they started promoting for this album and he was unable to dance. That is why you saw him sitting down the whole time in the MV and why there are only 4 of them in the dance breaks. It was several weeks into promotions for this song before Onew was able to participate in the choreography. If you want to see all 5 of them dancing you will have to check out one of their last live comeback stage performances or their SHINee World Concert V (SWC5) in Seoul stage.

To help explain what is happening in SHINee's "Tell Me What to Do" MV, the members are all playing a group of friends, which also includes the girl. How I interpret the story, is that they all have been friends with this girl for a very long time and Taemin has always been in love with her, but unfortunately, what you see is that she is in love with Minho and they are dating.
However, Taemin is super jealous and his jealousy has gotten to the point where he can no longer hide his anger and disappointment -- that's why you see him acting kind of crazy and really angry. That's why you see him getting drunk and silently watching Minho and the girl with that seething, jealous look on his face. It is also why you see him crazily pick up the gun and wave it around like he is drunkenly joking with everyone and making bad choices.
It's supposed to be about a group of teenagers/young 20-something guys hanging out together and partying in an abandoned warehouse or construction site, etc. You see them having fun riding around in the car together, but if you notice, Taemin is sitting there jealously watching Minho and the girl and wishing it was him who she was in love with.
I interpret the floating guns as a metaphor, where Taemin is surrendering to everything and he is struggling to figure out how to cope with all his feelings, etc.
You see Minho and Taemin get in a fight. Minho is essentially saying, "Hey man, it's not my fault she is in love with me and not you," etc.
Minho always writes his own rap section in SHINee's songs, so the rap was given that flow for a very specific reason. It is meant to be completely different than the rest of the song because it represents the anger and frustration he is feeling at that moment. (You should really look up the lyrics in order to see what the song is about.)
The song is called "Tell Me What To Do" because the rest of the members are pretty much saying, "Tell me what to do? What should I do to fix the problems in our friendship and how do we go back to the way we used to be?", etc. It's a coming-of-age story about friendship and the things that can happen in someone's life that can cause a rift between friends.
In the end, you see Taemin drop the lighter, and some say the lighter is what catches the car on fire, symbolizing the end to their youthful innocence. But you also see Minho and the girl -- who, you're right, is played by well-known actress Han So Hee -- get in the car and when Minho turns the key to start the car it blows up because you see the gas line has been cut, or something has been tampered with. Some say Taemin is so jealous that he blows up the car thinking that if he can't have the girl, then he doesn't want anyone to have her. However, he didn't consider the fact that Minho might also be in the car with her. So, he also kills Minho. It is speculated that's why Taemin looks so shocked right after you see the car catch fire because he realizes what he has just done.
Which is now thought to be connected to Minho's solo "Heartbreak" MV storyline. In his "Heartbreak" MV we think Minho might be trying to fix the rift between the group and travel back in time to prevent things from happening the way they did, etc.
"Tell Me What To Do" came out in 2016 and it was the lead track on SHINee's repackaged 1 and 1 album, which is a partner album to their 1 Of 1 album and title track MV "1 Of 1," which has a retro '90s theme. (BTW: This is the last MV you will see Jonghyun in in the chronology of SHINee MVs.)
The only saving grace to this story is that we know that SHINee is too much of a close-knit group to ever let something like this happen to them for real and, that in terms of SHINee, this story is so far from reality that this would never happen with their friendships. Once again, this was a departure from anything we have ever seen from SHINee before, and it's unlike anything they have ever done as a concept for an MV. But it was exactly SHINee-like in every way.
You should really watch a video of SHINee performing this song live on Jonghyun's radio program called "Blue Night." (Search: "Tell Me What To Do Blue Night Radio.") The radio show was hosted by Jonghyun every night at midnight for 3 years. During "Tell Me What To Do" promotions the other SHINee members were guests on the show and Jonghyun had to do double duty that night as both host and guest. This was my favorite performance of "Tell Me What To Do," and not only are their vocals magnificent, but it also shows you a little glimpse into their goofy, fun personalities as well.
You should also check out a live performance of "Tell Me What To Do." Because, even though there is no dancing in the MV, this was one of their lead promotional tracks, so they performed it on music programs and in concert. This choreography is so uniquely SHINee. I think you will fall even more in love with the song, once you see a live full performance. :D

For whatever reason, the videos of the SHINee World Concerts are hit or miss in terms of sound quality. SHINee World IV is amazing, SHINee World III, V, 2014, and 2018 are pretty good, the others are a bit less. In their earliest few they were still finding their concert "legs" so to speak, and their producers made some questionable decisions about content (Shawols know what I'm talking about ... the natives set). So your best bet is SHINee World IV if you are only going to do one or two. If you plan on going all-in Shawol, don't start with IV or the others may be a bit of a let down because of the sound quality.
You've only got a few more group MVs, then a lot of solo MVs, then B-side live performances (or lyric videos), and finally dance practices. Just depends on how much time you want to spend. :)

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. I subbed. Love to join u on ur Taemin and Shinee journey. I am still new only 9 months so still trying to catch up. =0] Taemin biased here. Key 2nd fav. =0] I liked 1 of 1 . Did not like it on 1st listen so it was a grower for me. Good vocals. Fun fits. Did not love all of them but a few were really cool. Nice choreo as usual. Tell Me What To Do was a fav on 1st listen. The feels. Great vocals. Loved the fits too. I did not know that was the actress sweet. I just met her in JKs Seven MV for the 1st time. I understand that you were bothered by the sound quality in WW but you literally talked over a good chunk of the performance so you missed out even more...
The sound in Winter Wonderland live is not the best. React to the MV version. Plus stop talking though Jonghyun's solo singing in the Winter Wonderland part! You stop when Jjong don't sing but when he sings you talk through it again🙄.
In the one of one of you'll notice that Onew isn't dancing.It's because at that time he was injured so he couldn't face the choreo. All shinee costuming is designed and done by key.
