    One advice. It's a good idea to show the before and end result in the beginning, that way your retention rates will be much higher.

    I second the assessment about Thomas Ehrig, the dev behind Happy Files and Bricks. I would go so far as to name him one of the very best modern devs for Wordpress out there. He and his team are building some of the very best "no-bloat" tools and plugins on the market using modern frameworks and practises. Plus he's a nice guy :)

    Great overview mate (as always!). I tend not to be that bothered with a custom back-end, BUT I have been blown away by your demo and can see the clear benefits of taking such steps. I'm just a tad torn by the high annual cost of the Ultimate Dashboard plugin and would consider it on a TLD.

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers buddy. I know what you mean. I tend to just ignore the back-end for my own uses, but after seeing a recent video by Kyle (The Admin Bar), we got chatting about the dasboard and he reminded me about UDP which I'd used in the past, so went back for another look. Hence this video.
      There are some great free options out there that may do all or most of what you want. Take a look at White Label CMS from Troy Dean's company - wordpress.org/plugins/white-label-cms/
      I've used that on client sites in the past and it has a lot of great features, but includes ads, etc., so not my preference for a clean setup.

    Paul, I enjoy most of your videos and find them very educational. I have been a big fan and user of Happy Files for a while now. But, I learned something unintended that I found incredibly useful which, up until now, I had used another plugin for. While you were demonstrating Happy Files, I noticed in settings the ability for infinite scrolling had been added. Woohoo! I was able to turn that on and delete the "Media Library Enable Infinite Scrolling" plugin. Can't wait until Happy Files adds the feature for replacing images so I can delete the Enable Media Replace plugin too. Anyway, thanks for your great videos and, in this case, for the unintentional tip. ;-)

    Hi, great and informative video. Can you please also make a video or recommend a plugin to make the backend faster. I saw that there are some plugins which let you choose which plugins and resources to load in the backend. I think that would be a good addition to this video. Thanks!

    Hi mate, what plugin stack would you recommend to freshen up the WP dashboard and login screen in 2023? I've watched all your reviews and they all seem to do a good job but none of them cover everything. LoginPress looks like the best options for the login/register screen as it offers social logins which I need for my upcoming project, but it doesn't offer WP dashboard customisation. What plugin would you pair with this for that? I was quite keen on Ultimate Dashboard Pro for everything, but it doesn't offer social logins for the login screen, so that makes me lean back to LoginPress. Thanks for your help! :)

    The Ultimate Dashboard has a nice UI, but I am going to stick with White Label CMS, which is free and provides much of the same functionality that Ulitmate Dashboard provides. White Label CMS still uses Elementor for building a custom dashboard and I have more flexibility with customizing my dashboard by dropping in my own custom CSS in the Settings tab. As for HappyFiles, I went ahead and purchased the Unlimited Pro. This was too good of a price to pass up. Working with it I found this was like a stripped downed version of the Premio Folders plugin. I love the fact it allowed me to import other folder plugins like Premio, which made the transformation seamless. I guess if you don't need all the bells & whistles that Premio Folders provides, this is definitely a must-have.

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      White Label CMS is a great option and one I've used many times myself and it is a great alternative to UDP.
      Good to hear you're liking HappyFiles. I was lucky enough to grab it on LTD a couple of years ago for about $20 (a complete steal) and it's great that Thomas has gone back to the project recently and updated the framework being used. It is so much snappier to use now.
      I'm in the camp of having the feature I need and will use over everything and the kitchen sink included. HappyFiles hits that nail on the head for me.

    great tutorial. I would love to implement this on some of my bigger clients. Will branding the dashboard have any effect on site speed/dashboard speeds?

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With good hosting, it shouldn't make a noticable impact on site speed. This video was recorded on a basic Cloudways hosting account with the lowest specs and as you can probably tell from the video, it' pretty snappy. Nothing is sped up and in most cases, not edited to cut out load times.

    Hi Paul. After trying everything under the sun, and learning from you, I have settled for zionbuilder and wpfrontendadmin. Bricks not ready yet, oxygen ui too slow, elementor, well, enough said, I have kept my 150 a year license for whatever reason, don't really use it. Wondering why you have never reviewed wpfrontendadmin (from the guys that do sheet editor also incredibly useful!), have you seen the latest zion update along with ziultimate you can do ANYTHING dynamic short of custom wpqueries in oxygen. and one last question, i am considering buying the brizy cloud LTD for 1500 for my simpler client needs. Noticed you used to be big on brizy, but as of late, radio silence? hope to hear from ya!

      I’d say both have pros and cons. For complete control and to remove clients from the WP Dashboard, a custom frontend solution is better.
