"Connection"

Connection and Authenticity are the two main forces driving us.
As children, when our surroundings are non favorable, we often suppress our authenticity to survive - we simply can not survive without connection to our caregivers, even if they are toxic.
I grew up in such a toxic household, with a father who had a bad childhood himself and then got further traumatized in WWII and a mother who had learned that she can't speak up, can't stop him...
And so today I still struggle with connection and authenticity both.
And can only stand very straight and honest people who do not play emotional games, situations that aren't rife with massive undercurrents...
I now spent 2 years mostly alone, concentrating on my authentic work.
And now I feel that the next step will be to get back in connection with the world. To try to carry what I learned about myself into a bigger context.
I'm frigging scared but at the same time very curious if I will be able to finally find my balance.
