I always enjoy coming to this spot late at night. Pretty fun to watch Wisconsin Southern freight trains branch off towards Libertyville like the Metra trains
I took that 199 train from Portage straight to the Twin Cities that night! I work for Canadian Pacific Railway as a train engineer out of the Twin Cities.
Trains, Trains, and More Trains Yea! That was strange that a Metra train was on the C&M north of Rondout! They all should turn off there and head for Fox Lake! Totally weird!
Metra recently had a schedule change on the Milwaukee District North Line to accommodate more passengers near Lake Forest during the evening rush hour. Hope this answers your question. -Andrew Mangalindan
Unfortunately, my phone battery died by the time the Waukegan local returned so I didn't stand a chance of filming it by the time it came back. -Andrew Mangalindan
The tracks at Rondout are CP trackage. Anywhere south of this section and anywhere north of Northbrook at Junction A20 is where you’ll see the most train action. Most of the Metra trains, Amtrak Hiawatha trains, Amtrak Empire Builder 8 and 7, and various Canadian Pacific freight trains pass through here. Hope this helps! -Andrew Mangalindan

That's interesting that the Waukegan Local didn't return. Were you trackside the whole time or did you take a lunch break or something?

@@ATrain4014 Ok, so did it return after 6:30 pm?
I don't remember off the top of my head of when exactly returned to the diamond at Rondout. I believe it was somewhere between 9-10am on that day.
@@ATrain4014 Oh ok, that makes much more sense
what trains go pass rondout is it owned by CP or NS
