Crunchyroll translator is just trying to make it more Subaru’s dialogue more comedic i guess, i don’t really mind.
@@KoopaTroopaa69 There is definitely a lack of context here. Sometimes these sorts of literal translations do not work. Was there some sort of secret ceremony involving Emilia and Subaru? Perhaps we'll get more info later in the season.

Dont forget that the whole deal with Garfiel is that he though his mom left to get a better life, to not be restrained, and before his fight with Subaru he wanted to stay segregated in the Sanctuary to avoid the possibility of confronting here. And here it fucking goes...
They're cutting out a LOT in these episodes to fit the 16 episode runtime and I'm starting to get a bit annoyed by it.
Okay, Beatrice is in her Coma specifically because of her connection to Subaru - this episode should have had this revelation fully explained so...
Subaru destroyed his Gate in Season 2, it means that he cannot easily pull Mana at all anymore, he can sustain himself but can barely do anything else, and Spirits specifically those bonded to people can only draw Mana through their contracted mortal's Gate.
This is added to the fact that Beatrice is a VERY unique type of Spirit, artifically created by Echidna and a slight failure on her part.
This is due to the fact that anyone she creates a contract with, she becomes the solitary Spirit capable of bonding with them, something about her essence forces any possible connection with other Spirits out, she actively blocks them.
And before this she was a spirit bound to a contract she made with Echidna to protect the Hidden Library, this allowed her to cheat the rules and consider anyone within the Roswaal mansion to be a potential Gate she could draw from, and for 400 years she did for every single person who lived there.
And even worse - she then used nearly all of that reserve up with Al Shamac to defeat the Great Rabbit.
So it was almost a dead certainty that Beatrice would be just some barely living spirit unable to do anything. Until she and Subaru learned that she could draw through his Gate - when he's relaxed enough, when he's asleep or fully relaxed and at peace, it's why whenever he was sitting down, Beatrice would be in his lap as that's where he feels peaceful and therefore she can pull a little bit of the Mana through to bulk herself up.
This is also part of the reason why Subaru has been given the title of “The Little Girl User” as everyone knows he is especially doting on the blonde haired girl of Emilia's camp and he keeps her as close as possible, there's cute scenes missing from flashbacks of them learning how this is by her sleeping on his chest and it seeming adorable like a pair of siblings cuddled up together.
So all of this to explain that after Beatrice healed Subaru she then went on to heal everyone in the Square enough that she exhausted the meagre reserves of Mana she and Subaru had been able to store up for a year, and which is why a second girl that Subaru cares about is now in a coma.
Ugh, this could've been explained with a scene or two changed from Subaru enjoying a meal at the Onsen and the massage chair in episode 1.
Instead of this they choose to have Subaru explaining EMM to Regulus for no reason, and a Otto scene that wasn't even in the LN.
I'm actually disappointed with this adaptation ngl.
@@rip_nobody1 EP1 was stellar for the most part for me but it's gone downhill storywise quickly, and with whats coming I'm scared of what they're going to cut next.
@@UncensoredScion yea idk as a webnovel reader the adaptation is very good imo, sure there are some cutscenes but they dont impact the story as much as you say
@@UncensoredScion I totally agree. And even the first episode had some cuts that were important to the story, the most relevant one I won't say because it can still be added, or is it just me coping? 😥
@@rip_nobody1 They transferred part of a conversation that should've been in episode 1 to episode 2 (even though they neutered it) so I don't think you're coping. I'm hoping they keep things in too, I love this arc

I don't even know what to say. Almost every scene i was willing to see this season were ruined, at least for now. We'll have to see in future episodes.

@@kennji3986 I already replied to other people so i will just copy and paste here:
Subaru explaining EMM to Regulus for no reason in a extremely expository way (the first punch was cut too); Invisible Providence scene with Blue Lock S2 lvl animation; added an off screen Otto/Lye scene instead of simply adapting what in fact is in the LN (why loose time with that?); Gorgeous Tiger, the best chapter on arc 5 (in my opinion), felt extremely rushed and i couldn't do more than try not to laugh, even though that chapter is the one i cried the most; and don't explained with detail why Betty can't wake up (can still be added i think).
Complaining about this episode especially, the others have their own flaws as well.
