How was immediate bail granted to Arnab Goswamy of Republic TV Channel, overlooking 7 bail petitions pending previously, including the bail petition of Stan Swamy? Is there any reason to give priority to Goswamy other than him being an influential person of this government? The SC refused bail in Stan Swamy's appeal. Stan Swamy was weak with age, had shivering hands and fingers due to Parkinson's disease. He was not able to drink any liquid substance directly, unlike others, and could only drink using a straw. He was denied bail. After more than 2 years as an undertrial prisoner, Stan Swamy's life ended in prison. These are stark facts that show our judiciary does not function impartially.

A persons way with words influences the thoughts of all they interact with and the gift he has honed and attained as a judge is that of strong diction. The command he has over language has always incited a feeling of awe. So much strength and motivation his thoughts have provided without putting a strong static bias in my way of thinking. He’s a professional that almost everyone looks up to and am proud of the fact he’s a judge of the country that I belong to.

    Unfortunate

Why can't we work towards simplifying the complex laws for the common people rather than giving the entire responsibility of interpreting the law to the Judges ?

Adjudication of the law and cases basically done on basis of merit of the law. In this regard technology can be used to club similar cases that have traveled through all the levels of Judiciary and finally landed in Supreme Court.

All the judges, past and present need to know it is a vey poor court system. Mainly SC is responsible for slow poke judiciary. People have no fear of commmitting crime for they know court system will never catch up before they die. Never understand how Bail petition goes to high court or supreme court. Clearly SC has not train or gave clear nstructions to lower court which crimes are bailable and which are not.

Justice delayed is justice denied . I failed to understand why the heraing of West Bengal deferred several times. Why TARIKH PE TARIKH ,TARIKH PE TARIKH. Giving fair justice only lip service.

I would be curious to know at how many of our own Indian universities has the CJI greeted with such sessions. Does anyone know? If the answer is zero, it would be really shameful.
