    But is it ok to use regular glue? I was taught you should use a fabric glue when sewing as regular glue can damage your needle/machine. But hate wasting so would love to be able to patch up my stabilizers!

      As long as you are using a water soluble glue which will wash out of your quilt, its' all good! Depending on what type of glue and how much you use, you might need to clean your needle with rubbing alcohol - but that isn't usually what is required when using it for this purpose.

    I was wondering if the glued pieces will stay strong enough to make a tight base when hooped.

    Good to know. What brand glue stick? Can it be the kind little kids use?

      Either Elmer's (the purple one) glue stick or UHU will work as well.

    Good to know. I'm always leery of using glue to avoid residue on the needle.

      You can coat your needle with Sewers Aid to prevent gumming up the needle.

    I also use strips of interfacing to “ glue” left over batting pieces together.

    Can you use Elmer’s washable glue?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you should be able to use it. You may need to set it with the iron to make sure that it adheres really well.

    Is that a revolving mat you are ironing on top of?

    • @Chatterboxquilts
      @Chatterboxquilts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sort of...it is the pressing part of the Martelli Round About set which has a revolving base and a cutting mat and a pressing mat. I love this combination and use it all the time. You can find out more details at www.martellinotions.com/3pc-round-about-set-base-mat-iron-top.html?Affiliate=Kim and it is currently on sale today!
      I am a Martelli affiliate.
