Looks like Google up'ed their game on the video recording. The sound quality as well as video stablilzation was MUCH better on the Pixel 4a at 0:40 compared to the iPhone at 0:37, however I will agree the iPhone maintained more clarity (t-shirt). However when it comes to the still images, hands down, Pixel wins, not even a contest in my opinion. When it comes to consideration of which to buy though, there are a few more things to consider. The Pixel has a larger, higher resolution OLED display, better battery life, better RAM management (6GB vs 3GB), faster WiFi speeds, a headphone jack, lighter weight and costs $50 less ($100 less if iPhone SE has 128GBs storage). FYI, the Pixel 4a is already sold out on Amazon.

Yeah somethings wrong with you. The pixel has the color production that iPhone used to have back in the day. Now iPhones with Smart HDR have horrible color reproduction. The greens in the grass are not the right hue. Pixel gets it more accurately. I really don’t know why Apple chose to go with those colors on iPhone, it’s not what they used to do before on iPhone’s before the smart HDR tech.
It’s awesome the extent to which a phone can replace a high end camera / action camera. The sound on the pixel rivals a studio quality microphone. At 350 dollars, I don’t find a need for an amateur vlog camera anymore
Pixel shoots photos with high dynamic range and doesn't look like it's a flat image. It doesn't over saturate or over smoothens like other phones does. The photos look so natural. 🌿🍃❤
HDR is "high dynamic range." It refers to a technique where multiple images are taken and merged together. The dynamic range if a single shot is not "HDR"
Super excited to see the Pixel 4a 5g and Pixel 5. I've had the 3a and was waiting for the 4a, but since it's so close and my 3a still works (knock on wood), I feel like it's worth waiting on. I honestly am shocked the audio sounds good on the 4a. It's ALWAYS been a Pixel thing to sound like garbage and I'm genuinely shocked, in a good way. Great video though! Definitely enjoy you giving honest thoughts and not pushing one phone or the other, like so many TH-camrs do
both are good. I am tired of people saying the 4a is better! I use the se 2020 and the rear camera is leaps better. A lot of people aren’t going to start a professional TH-cam channel with these. Both of the rear cameras are enough for vloging. I wouldn’t use either front camera because the rear camera on the iPhone has extended dynamic range. You can also film 1080p 60 FPS on iphone with excellent dynamic range and stabilization. And the iphone se 2020 has a better processor. No amount of ram or storage can out perform an a13 2.66ghz processor. People complain about the screen, but for me it’s plenty large enough, and it was quite refreshing coming from a 6.1 inch display.
Both are very good but I give the edge to the 4a. Especially with 🌃 night sight. The bigger OLED display for me is much preferred. I could never go back to a 4.7in display. At it's current price I chose the 4a. Very good comparison!
I have a 1st gen SE and a macbook and iPad so I’m thinking of getting a 2nd gen SE to keep the compatibilty going - but if I were going down the Android route I’d definitely go for the Pixel 4a as it is a bargain at that price.
Loved my 3a but opted for an SE 2 this time. The pictures on the 3a were phenomenal however it struggled when I was in holiday last year due to the heat and would shut down until it cooled. For me wireless charging and being water resistant pulled me back to Apple with the lower price point. I do miss the camera though, maybe I can get my wife one and have the best of both worlds 😉.

I have the Google pixel 4a, it is brilliant, super fast and above all excellent for photos Frankly I recommend it 100% do not pay 489 euros for an iPhone that does not have night mode.

Arghh I still cannot decide between these 2. Because the primary reason to get one of these is for video. I want to use filmic pro at full potential. But I also love photography.
I was thinking iPhone SE will lag behind but it is competing neck to neck. There was a time when Pixel was 📸 king but now every other brand has met the standards and polished their 📸. Pixel devices are a big pain when it comes to after sales service especially in India.
ISSUE: Pixel 4a front camera which is "on side" instead "in middle" bothers others app's pages (like closing the pages of game apps or some other apps) and not responding the touch once its overlaps on it. did you notice it? I am not sure if this has been noticed by anyone !

I notice that the iPhone SE 2 when racking between foreground and background around 5:08 it slightly crops in smooth and then back out. Looks like a nice touch to me.
Two things. Night mode. Sky. Yes Pixel seems better with handling sky brightness.... but is it ? I've owned both brands and what I will say about Pixel is sometimes the sky does not look like that ! Sometimes the sky is bright. I think the Pixel is heavy handed sometimes with it's processing and HDR, verging on ridiculous at times. The iPhone will not capture those super crisp details, but it produces a more natural "as it is" photo. Night mode on iPhone is easily fixed with £4 on the app store, there is little difference then.

This guy is faking the audio quality test for iPhone se 2020. I have the same phone as well and it doesn't record audio too low as showed in the video unless he is paid by Google's PR team just to showoff pixel being superior.
With a descent battery, a good display and a great camera and descent capable chipset, pixel seems a better option for me. I know SE chipset is far ahead but with a pathetic battery and an outdated display, its capabilities are negated...
I would still take the iPhone. Better build quality, wireless charging, comes with iWork, iMovie etc, and reverb if you like Google's apps will run those too.

@@solman5517 If your vlog doesn't require sound, SE is better. If not, 4a is much better. Besides the in build microphone in 4a, you can use good quality external mic through that audio jack.
I don't like iphone SE 2 Camera and i don't know why people saying on youtube channels... it has great camera.? It's more like a filter and smother with your skin tone which is capturing filtering images.
Great comparison but I think with human subjects iPhone is more pleasing and less unnecessary facial structure in it as pixel. What's ur say? Is there even any options to stop that extra structuring on human faces?

Its not leaps and bounds better. Both are really good. I even use the iPhone. And no that is not biased.
That duck picture was enough for me the level of detail and background blur is crazy for a 350 bucks phone .
The video quality seems to be improving on pixel, let's see how they achieve later....

Pixel's video recording have improved greatly and the mic is far better than SE2
I believe the pixel looks a little more cropped in due to it using a much more aggressive digital image stabilisation. It works very well!

iPhone's mic sounds less full, but it have better audio cancelation
Pixel needs a bit more saturation but you can easily do that in any video editor.

Believe iPhone SE 2 and Filmic Pro is OP. I can render an edited 4k video in iPhone SE2 5k bitrate around 3-4 minutes only!
