Rupee payment to Russia by India is not sustainable by Russia due to trade imbalance. They want India to pay in Chinese currency which India don't do. Instead some times paid in Dirhams. So, it has put more attention to middle east and Venezuela. It will also make US happy.😅

For 3 to 4 years the price of oil is stable in India and it’s because India buys it from anywhere it is cheap for us . We are also exploring Guyana and other countries and it does not mean that we will reduce the oil purchase from Russia . Its is primarily because we don’t want to buy with heavy price and we buy only if it’s discounted . It’s nothing to do with America and the cap which has put on the oil .
Yes also India has the refinery setup for crude oil filtration
Crude oil is always cheaper than refined petrol
Plus there are so many other industrial chemicals that are produced in India Including lubes and naptha

There were no western sanctions for purchase of oil from russia below $60. India took deliveries around $50. And later in INR. So where is this question of bypassing sanctions. Secondly, if world's third largest oil importer pull oil from West Asia, then Europe will have further price bargain, impacting millions of people in EU. So, Indian action helped EU during the crisis time. West know this and there were no serious questions to India , except statements for political consumption in their home.
