this is an actual really good idea for me to start doing since i keep on getting my rings from Claire's and i'm getting tired of doing that and i saw this stuff idea on pinterest and was like wow since I do love to make jewelry.
First of all, I really enjoy your videos and appreciate you sharing your creativity! I notice that you typically don’t work harden your designs, especially rings. Do you think it’s helpful to do so...why or why not? Thanks!
Heather Boyd Wire Sorry for confusion. Typically work hardening is done with a mallet (rubber, metal or leather depending on the gauge wire used), hitting on the metal against a hard surface (mandrel or bench block) to help “harden” the wire so it holds its shape better.
Heather Boyd Wire Only if you’re use a metal hammer and more force. I often use the rubber/silicone side of my hammer and tap just a few times. It really does make a difference. Several videos available on TH-cam. I think Off the Beaded Path may have a good one, but I’ll check and post here for you. 😊
such a simple and yet beautiful ring! And the story of how you came up with the design was adorable ❤
Thanks so much Nini

Hi Valerie: Thanks so much for your nice comments. I'm not sure what you mean by harden the designs. Please clarify!

I don't do that, but I should look into it. Does it flatten the wire?

Here’s one of Kelley’s videos showing wire hardening at about 7.5 minutes in. Hope this is helpful...enjoy!
Nice work 😍😍😍 can you please do wire work step by step
Thanks Shivangi. I'm not sure what you mean. Please explain!
You think this would be possible with a paper clip?
Hi Sandi: I did this heart ring with a paperclip: th-cam.com/video/w7DHaB0sk1M/w-d-xo.html
I want to make these but is the wire 0.8mm?
I use 20 g or 18 g which is about .9mm and 1mm.
@@HeatherBoydWire oh! Does it still work on 8mm?
From algeria 🇩🇿❤🇵🇸
Hello!
@@HeatherBoydWire ❤
what kind of wire do you use ??
I use Artistic Wire tarnish resistant copper in 18 or 20 gauge.
What is the best type of wire to use when you are selling the rings?
You can use non tarnish copper or Argentium silver wire.
@@HeatherBoydWire Okay thank you very much Ms.Boyed
How much wire do we use?
You can use about 5-6 inches for this ring. Depends on the size of the heart and the size of your finger.
I can't even tell you how many times I accidentally cut myself trying to do this and your barbed wire ring
Oh no. Take care of yourself.
Scusami mi puoi fare vedere il tutorial di una bambina con il filo di ferro nn riesco a trovarla grazie
Is this the one? th-cam.com/video/mNsW-DCVBhY/w-d-xo.html
