      i agree, the loss to leeds was disappointing and it seems to me like morale is low, with bruno lage arguing with marsch after the game and not shaking his hand, their club captain going on loan to everton is also a very concerning and confusing transfer. i think somethings going on behind the scenes. and with jimenez out for months now they're going to struggle to score goals.

      damsgaard is overrated because everyone remembers his free kick at the euros. his denmark record is very good and hes only 22 so hes got potential, hes also very versatile which i like but only 6 goal contributions in 49 games for sampdoria... eriksen is also a big loss and other than ben mee they havent brought in any experienced players, hickey and lewis-potter are decent signings but could be a bit risky? as for leeds, phillips isnt as big of a loss as everyone thinks, last season he only played 1600 minutes which is less than half the season. on top of that he was underwhelming in the last part of the season after bielsa was sacked and he picked up an injury. raphinha is a huge loss, but i think its one that they can deal with given the players they've brought in, aaronson and sinisterra really stand out as being capable of filling the void left by raphinha and sinisterra could even be a direct replacement if he performs. they had an injury crisis last season and were constantly having to play youth and have players out of position which i dont think will be a problem this season especially considering the increased squad depth. if they bring in a good left back and maybe even a top class centre back i think they'll stay up comfortably, but even if they dont its unfair to say they've gotten worse since last season based on two key players leaving, one of which wasn't even particularly good and has already been replaced.

Bamford played 560 minutes in total so we played with no number 9 all year which was funsies. The extra squad depth we have is huge and Aaronson I have very high hopes for.
      As for Brentford....I think will probably be ok too though 2 massive issues 1) Second Season Syndrome and 2) Brentford form with/without Erikson. Without Erikson last year Brentford could have been relegated

    I would predict Newcastle higher at around 7th. Remember they have top players like Wilson and Trippier back from injury and finished the last 20 games of last season with the 3rd highest points tally. I think the mid-season World Cup could throw a spanner in the works for the top 6!
    I'd have Brighton and Palace higher, they're good footballing sides.
    On the other hand, I think Southampton will really struggle this season, can see Hassenhuttl getting sacked by Christmas.
    I'm predicting Leicester to finish bottom half due to them having a terrible window - key players are going to leave.
    Villa will also finish around the 14th spot. I think their transfer policy looks similar to Everton's - piss poor. And I don't rate Gerrard as a manager.

      Newcastle are still missing key pieces, they'll finish 8th. Leicester have the best 11 outside of the top 6. Fofana only leaves for 100m+ (hes got 5 years left in his contract) and Youri will probably stay.

    • @ImmuneGEORGE
      @ImmuneGEORGE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@chrisseal3677 Yeah Newcastle are missing a right winger and backup striker at the moment, so just depends whether they strengthen these positions by the end of the window, I'd expect at least 1 in.
      I think it's 50/50 whether Fofana stays, I'd expect a fee close to £80m might do it as Leicester need money if they are to buy any players this window. I think Tielemans will probably go due to his contract expiring at the end of the season, it makes financial sense. Then there's the question of Vardy - how long does he have left in him? Players pace tends to go in their mid 30's so I'm sadly expecting his amazing goal record to start dropping off soon. Will definitely be an interesting season for them, can see it going either way tbf.

    @TheJGTurton 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Brentford are the one that will be way higher than your prediction, them finishing 13th was an underperformance statistically (even before Eriksen) and they regularly performed well against the big teams, with results often falling short of their performances. Also "second season syndrome" literally doesn't exist with only 15% of all relegations coming in a team's second season. On top of this they have strengthened their team with Ben Mee being a very good anti-relegation player and secure in the PL, Hickey being a very good versatile WB, Lewis-Potter showing immense talent but needs to see if he can do well in the PL, they will be closer to 13th again imo.

    • @TheJGTurton
      @TheJGTurton 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Red eyed Wolf it was a statistical underperformance, that cannot be argued because it's literal fact. But yeah obviously when a team loses a player who is by far their best outfielder, they will play worse that's only logical. However I disagree I think the rest of their team would be capable of surviving in the Prem and their recruitment is so good they can probably find a good replacement and more for the money they would get for him, would be a lot tougher obviously in the short term for results.

    I am a Chelsea fan, and I predict the same thing. I do not think they will make top 4 this season unless Tuchel can get them settled very quickly. Personally, I think we are going to continue the trend from the end of last season, which is not helped by the uncertainties and turnovers in defense.

    Potter should get some love.
    And the pick i would make is Spurs 1-2 and pool 3rd. Arsenal have a high but often with a young team you get highest high and the lowest low.

    Enjoy Goodison Park in a few months. This coming from a Liverpool supporter. I just think Everton does have the capability. They just need to be steered the right way. Tarkowski and Coady are going to balance the defence finally. Their players are good and just need that spark.

    Lol my issues with your picks are strange, as I think the bottom half are correct... However, I think wolves, Southampton, Aston villa and Everton are all in for tough seasons. I think Southampton and wolves ownerships will have caused their problems, and I think the managerial appointments and Everton and villa will get found out.
    As a Leeds fan, I hope Murica ball works out for us, jury is well and truly still out. Fingers crossed 🤞

    Yeah, I can see why you've made those predictions. I think you're probably not far off, or even spot on, with your top 7.
    I do think Villa, Wolves and Leicester are going to have off seasons though, with Villa particularly low. I actually have Gerrard as the first manager to be sacked. I think Brighton, Newcastle and Crystal Palace will do better, or at least challenge for those places.
    Relegation, oof, I think it's going to be tight this year. I don't think Brentford are going to go down though, so I think you might be heading there!

    People always under estimate Klopp’s transfer dealings… But he hasn’t made errors over the last 5 years so if he is happy for Mane to play elsewhere that’s good enough for me!

    It would be quite handy for you as Sky Sports the main premier league broadcaster is also based in Brentford. We need to get you on Soccer AM!

    I honestly have Everton to go down Lampards a fool and their recruitment has been awful for years Brentford finish around 15th. Newcastle higher they closed out last year phenomenally, Palace a little higher I just think they play good stuff super combative Leicester a lot lower they can't stop shipping goals I thinks its 20+ games since they last had a clean sheet that's just going to be worst with Kasper leaving. Wolves look shy of goals for me it's a tough one though to predict.

    Predictions aren't bad at all, I have a similar feeling about Brentford although I hope I'm wrong. I'd put Villa and wolves behind Newcastle, Brighton and Palace however. Villa in particular have done nothing on the pitch since Gerrard took over to make me believe they'll finish that high up the table.

    I think the guess that is furthest off is Brentford. Think they are not going to be near the relegation zone, but will instead fight about the mid table positions.
