I was at Ikenne then at 13yrs and living close to his house. The mood in the town was like the earth had fallen. We had the opportunity to see many prominent people all over the world came in to town. It was a time I can never forget. I remember when chief MKO Abiola visited him to call a truce before Papa passed. Those were many times I can never forget. The next time something close to Awo's passing was when TAI Sholarin passed too. Continue to rest in peace Papa Awo✌️

It's crucial to remember that Papa Awo couldn't have taken his own life. At his last birthday celebration, he hinted at the approaching end of his life. He spoke about the imminence of his transition, referencing a book called 'Life After Life' by Dr. Raymond Moody, MD. Only a few people truly comprehended his words. It wasn't until years later that I managed to acquire a copy of the book. Awo was an incredibly advanced soul who was ahead of his time. It's important to put an end to the spread of falsehoods about this remarkable individual.

@@euzoobi Stop that nonsense postulations of yours, many great evil leaders like thief Obafemi Awolowo talked about their transition, life after here, including Adolf Hitler, Lenin, Mohamadu Buhari, and the Oba of Benin etc.
Dr. Dosumu Awolowo, the daughter of your papa Awolowo was so smarth and dogged saying what her mother and Awo's driver saw when they broke the door leading to the bathroom.
She skipped it, the secret leaked out, because, Awo's driver confirmed that chief Mrs, Awolowo wanted to hid the ota pia pia rat poison bottle in her waist cloth that morning, but in panick, the bottle fell to the ground twice, and each time she bends down and picks it up, yet with tears dripping from her chicks. She suddely calmed down so as not to inflame the atmosphere.
Those down stairs, the gardeners, and others where oblivious of the happening upstairs, execept Awo's personal cook.
You see, thief Obafemi Awolowo died like a chicken, a cocroach if you like.
      Karma is inescapable.
I'm using this opportunity to warn other Yoruba political and traditional leaders to learn from Awo's excruciating death, because of his evil deeds against innocent Igbo Hebrews during the Biafra and Nigeria civil war.
The Oba Akiolu of Lagos who took on the Igbos promising to drawn millions of Igbos in Lagos lagoon, first test the bitter pill of G-d's wrath, as touts, agberos and hooligans drank water and palaga from his royal CUP.

@@charliesmitho4001 I beg to defer. I can share with you imperical evidence to your view point. The entire western region is a legacy of Papa Awolowo. The western region is still by far the most tolerant part of Nigeria where anyone from Nigeria or any part of the world can comfortably call home. You can buy land, build, invest, attend the best kindergartens, primary, secondary and universities compared to global counterparts. You can freely establish your business, practice your religion either Christianity, Islam, Sango or other world religions, connect to fast broad band internet, enjoy the best Yoruba hospitality, the food from all 350 tribes, African food and international food. Walk freely as a woman half naked if you so wish. You can learn international languages, modern technology training hub. The western region remains the hub for global companies like Coca-Cola, Diageo and we had Peugeot plants, now the biggest oil refinery. The region understands the importance of taxation and its link to development. People are ready to pay for a quality service and way of life. The elephant in the room holding the Western region is the rest of Nigeria. However Awolowo appreciates the importance of the rest of Nigeria being key to peace and security. This is why the average Yoruba man has a mindset to be tolerant with all man. However I feel to move to the next level the region needs to crack down hard on crime

Yet Pa Awo made sure food was sent to children in Biafra during the war but your officers diverted it to themselves so that the children will continue to look skinny for the fotos they needed for propaganda to solicit for funds abroad. Or is it becos of his brilliant strategy as Finance Minister to change the Nigerian currency so that your Biafra army would not continue to use it to buy arms to fight his country?? Mr Man, Pa Awo was simply being patriotic and strategic and your Biafra army should have surrendered but didn't till they had wasted millions more lives. Blame your ancestors for stubbonly initiating and fighting a needless war they could never win. Sadly you Igbo youths are bent on doing the same in this generation, as you are all over the place with your hostility and aggression against all other Nigerian tribes, refusing to learn from history. The passing of a loved one is always sad, painful, and nearly, in many cases, unbearable, so we appreciate how traumatic this loss would have been for the family.
Today, we live in a world where people prefer to bury the truth, but some of us insist that no matter how sad or painful the truth may be, it must be told.
Awolowo was an intelligent man who opted to use his GOD-given talents for evil and wickedness to promote his own personal interests and ambitions. He was a man filled with hate, and he used that hate to destroy many lives. He repayed good with evil and plunged Nigeria into political darkness that she is yet to recover from to date.
I feel the pain of the family, but I'm one of those who will never mourn a soul like Awolowo. I pray, for his sake, that he made peace with GOD, In JESUS' Holy Name, before his passing.

People want to forget that he(Awolowo) was the finance minister of the Nigeria side that blockaded Biafra from food supplies
And as well gave the returning Nigerians from biafra land £20 pounds each after the war / genocide
Setting them backwards by at least 20 years to their either mates or subordinates among the other tribes at the time.
    Till this day
All the old.money corporate people are all Yoruba
All the old money military are all Hausa-fulani
This is a man who the coup of January 1966 was meant to install as President afterwards.
    I don't know.
    Not a hero IMO
Somewhat of a villain and betrayer.

In the aftermath of war, it's never been the duty of the victor to give the vanquished ANY MONEY, talk less of ''inadequate money''. If Nigeria went by the way of historical conquests, you probably wouldn't even be here typing, because your parents would have been massacred or exiled, and the names of your towns and cities changed to Hausa and Yoruba names. That's what usually happens when you lose a war, so be grateful for anything you received from the Nigerian govt after leading the country to warfare for three years.

If you’ve read a single book on world history, you would know that the vanquished side in a war does not go around demanding payment or expecting money from the side that trounced them. Ridiculous. Money was given to you secessionist traitors in Nigeria because of the compassion of the Nigerian leader, Gowon. Now you think it’s your right to paid “adequate” money after being trounced in a war.
