This. This. Was the first PBG video I ever watched. I had to be 5 or 6 at the time. I was scared and pretty confused. But I was hooked. Nearly a decade later I'm still watching him.
My first one was the Link is dead theory from Matpat. I was just watching The Game Theorists when I saw PBG's name in one of them and my friend told me about him and so I watched it. He's now one of my favorite TH-camrs. (I was like 11 when that happened.)
My theory on the "pokemagigger" inside the pokeball is actually a fivestar hotel room!

Also, according to the manga, the Pokémon depend on battling to remain healthy.

First, it's a Raticate at the time. Second, Gary could have just stored it in the PC. There is no conclusive proof that Raticate died.

Also, if you've read the manga, you actually see Pokemon die... Red (real creative to name every main charactor a color) freezes a couple of Magmar, then, Giovanni uses Cloyster to just shatter the ice into alot of pieces...
Also, the move Cut does do a decent amount of damage since Blue's Charmeleon completly cuts an Arbok (I forgot who's) in half... HALF!!

I have to disagree with PBG this time.
While I can't deny the strange shift of attitude from Ash's Caterpie, Charmeleon is a damning piece of evidence against Pokeballs pretty much brainwashing a Pokemon.
I think the reason that Caterpie came to like being with Ash is because perhaps it respected Ash for defeating it, and was then proud to battle beside him.
Charmander was easily Ash's best Pokemon, able to bring down Golem with just one measly Fire Spin. When it evolved however, it's power skyrocketed, but it's respect for Ash's training abilities was gone, thus it would no longer obey Ash until Charizard was tended by Ash after its battle with Poliwrath.
While I can't say much to defend catching Pokemon in the games, especially cases like Mewtwo, the anime is a bit more cautious in how Ash is written when he catches his Pokemon. In the anime, you must gain the respect and trust of the Pokemon before catching it to be considered a good trainer, no matter how strong or weak the Pokemon itself is.
The only case of a Pokemon definitely wanting to be on your side is in Black & White, when N will speak to the player's Pokemon and learn that the player's Pokemon truly wants to be with them. Especially during the encounters with Zekrom and Reshiram, when N specifically says "You really are a hero, too. I'll tell you what that Pokémon is saying to you: 'I want to battle with you. Try to make me your friend and ally.'"

And in the case of the let’s go games you gain the Pokémon’s eternal respect by hitting *EXCELLENT* throws.
I think the reason why Ash’s Charizard (which technically wasn’t his) disobeyed him was that it was based on a mechanic that lasted since the very first game: if a Pokémon you obtain is too high leveled it will occasionally not obey your commands. The only way to fix this is by clearing gyms that raise the level range Pokemon will obey you, which is how Ash’s Charizard eventually came to befriend him.
if you loom at the pokedex entries, you'll see that alot of pokemons love to fight, some even seek strong apponents to fight, and in the game the wild pokemons attack you. some pokemons may think of their trainer as a way of battling apponents and getting stronger, as for the *pokeballs make the pokemons docile' theory of yours is kinda busted, because pikachu was already in a pokeball and still didn't like ash, but grew fond of him after ash saved pikachu. perhaps pikachu didn't like battling in the start, but grew fond of battling as well.this is my opinion on the matter, feel free to post your opinion.

When pokemon faint it takes simply a day for them to regain concensus think about it... When you visit your mother she tells you to take break and the screen goes Black you then wake up the next day with your pokemon all rested as it says in the text so they don't die they simply take a take a break unless a screwed up trainer attacks it while it's fainted... Waddiya think?

Well, no, Electrodes and Voltorbs don't die after exploding. I remember in Pikachu's Vacation there was a Voltorb who had a tendency to explode, and he'd keep on coming back.

Pbg, I believe for wild pokemon, when they come to after being knocked out, they go to some berries. I mean, they do heal pokemon

Lynne Wright But Pokemon that can aren't always self serving. Flying types would gather berries for Pokemon in isolated areas, Rock tunnelers like Onyx could carve a path to a known Pokemon sanctuary or place of healing for injured cave Pokemon, etc.

There's something you NEED to know about Pokémon that IS NOT in the anime, but should have been, but IS in the manga, all throughout, and "Pokémon Origins."
The pokemon, being a magickal creature, connects its soul with the trainer when it is caught REGARDLESS if it is kept in a pokeball or not.
You see, pokeballs are, in the pokemon universe, a fairly new way to keep a pokemon (pocket monster, a magickal creature) near someone at all times.They originally were just any magickal item, such as a staff, which captured the pokemon. This was scene in the pokemon movie, "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew".
Then, later introduced in the Johto region, special tree berries, called, "Apricorns" were turned into containment units, later called balls.
But there is a method even more ancient than that! It was called bonding witih a pokemon.
But here's my point. It has NOTHING to do with the modern pokeballs, which simply converts the pokemon into data.

Um along with ashes pikachu not liking him at first his chameleon and charizard hated him though ash didn't put his pikachu in a poke ball ever just when he first got it from oak.
Ashes Charmander didnt hate him. It had no respect for him mostly showing pokemon fans that traded pokemon are hard to train and at times wont obey until you show it your a person that deserves his respect.

In the game if your character sleeps all of your pokemon heal as well. So they faint for a while and the sleep heals them. BOOM theory #smashed.

Pokemon Snap is a favorite of mine, but at least it's still more innocent than other games! I'm sure Pikachu would rather be hit by apples rather than giant rocks.
There are 2 things Pokéballs do 1: Shrink the Pokemon that want to become friends with you so that you can take them anywhere without requiring every buildings' doorway in the world to be remade every time a larger Pokemon is discovered (try to imagine trying to fit a Groudon into your house without a Pokéball, not possible). the 2nd purpose is to allow the shrunken Pokemon all the comforts it needs to be happy. It is possible for a Pokemon to just leave if it wants, as is said by the Professor of Gen 5. Also, for the wild Pokemon to be healed, 1st of all, in the anime's Orange Islands season, it is shown that there are Nurse Joys running around to heal and care for the wild Pokemon. 2nd, near the end of Gen 5's anime seasons, it is shown that there are Pokemon Centers that are for Wild Pokemon (trainers can also receive assistance from them as well, but they're really out of the way for trainers. Also, you forget, Pokemon Rangers. They've been around since Gen 1. they go around helping Pokemon, both caught and wild Pokemon.
Yes, but that is the show. What about before the show came out? The theory would have made sense the first time the game came out. I think the anime creators discovered it as well, so they came up with a way to show wild Pokemon weren't being harmed. So you're right, but so is PBG.

"Fainted" just means that the pokemon has reacted to fatigue, but it does not die. In other words, the pokemon is too weak to fight. The machine in nurse Joy's place simply heals them, like the Revive item. And their is a special type of poke ball that makes the pokemon more friendly after being caught:The Friend ball. But this ball can only be obtained in the Jhoto region but giving a certain type of berry to a man named Curt. He will then take the berry and craft it in to one of 14 different pokeball, Friend ball included.

Have you ever played ANY OTHER VIDEO GAME? Mario? Kills turtles, walnut things, mushroom people, takes drugs. Link? Drugs, other animals, "magic"(probably more drugs". And of course, there is always CoD, Halo, and all that other mature shit. And don't argue that the others are less realistic or something, what's realistic about pokemon? Definitely not the man-made pokemon (every steel or poison type and many others) not the 'legendary' basically god pokemon. Ok, rant over.

They didn't actually DO anything that deserves punishment, you're just hurting them for selfish reasons. (And I don't think Super Mushrooms are hallucinogenic like the real-world mushrooms they resemble, they just heal you. No comment on the growing in size, honestly I would probably go with the Paper Mario version where they just heal)

actually, in some of the later games,it's stated that when pokemon faint, they can't battle, but they can still use HMs, so you're not really killing them

PBG,dude, pokemon don't DIE. They don't even get hurt,basically. Whenever a pokemon faints,it's just that they "don't have any energy to battle". This is pointed out of almost every single game.

Oh really! How about in Lavender Town There's a GRAVEYARD for pokemon (in pokemon Red/Blue) And there is a theory out there that you actually KILLED Gary's pokemon ratticate when you battled him in S.S Anne and that is the reason why gary was there and you never see his Raticate again!

However about wild pokemons "Fainting" in battles, i don't know what's worse:Killing them or leave them fainted in half dead state....
It's been canonically stated in the games that wild pokemon heal themselves by eating berries. "Fainted" pokemon are apparently still able to be conscious proven by the fact they can still use HM moves while "fainted". They just can't FIGHT. so don't worry, the wild pokemon are fine.
I always knew Professor Oak was evil! There's also a theory that Professor Oak runs all the evil teams except for team Flare and Yell.
after a wild pokemon faints, they get up and run away, which is why you cant catch fainted pokemon.

Fact: If a person is hit hard enough to actually be knocked unconscious, they probably got a concussion and will die if left untreated.
When a pokemon faints in the wild, they can find an item a believe is called big root which revives them. Also, sometimes people find fainted pokemon in the wild and bring them to pokemon centres in the tv show.

what about the ones that were poisoned or burnt? Or ones that were defeated by Guillotine? IRL that aint going away cause of a fainting spell. all that does is keep the the pokemon from finding a berry to get rid of the poison before its too late
