Austin Brown, sang the lead on this. Nothing more needs be said, he voice does it for him. Tim Foust, generally sings bass, but has a 5 octave range and has a beautiful falsetto as well. He's been known to blow speakers in concert. Rob Lundquist, the bearded wonder with the glasses, has one of the sweetest tenor voices you'll ever hear. Adam Chance (goes by Chance), sang bass with another acapella group before joining Home Free, but usually sings baritone, and covers the bass when Tim is singing lead. He has a sweet smokiness to his voice that is just beautiful. He is the only member change sing they won the Sing Off. And, last but very far from least, Adam Rupp, who founded the group with his brother Chris (who left to do his own solo work and was replaced by Chance), is their world class beat boxer or, more aptly, vocal percussionist. He also has a beutiful tenor voice, though we rarely get to hear him sing. This was recorded during Covid lockdown. Only Austin was in studio, singing to his ladylove, Amberly. The other guys were at home and their ladies recorded their videos and sent them along to create this amazing cover. I love both Pentatonix and Home Free. I don't even try to compare them because they are both special and unique. Or I could say, I like best the one I am listening to at the moment.
Austin Brown was born and raised in Tifton, GA. If you want to hear the depth of his talent, listen to his version of "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserable.
These guys are my favorites! The other groups are amazing as well, but I am not addicted to them as I am to Home Free. To me, other groups are showcasing their voices or their costumes/theatrics, whereas Home Free is showcasing the Song! They just want it performed in the best manner, so no egos here. Their goodness as people just shines through. They genuinely like each other and are so caring to their fans as well. This video was filmed during the lockdown, so they were all filming and recording their parts separately. Yet put together this is a masterpiece. During the last 2 years they routinely releaaed a new video every 2 weeks to help keep us sane. God Bless them for helping get us through these stressful times. They appear to have gotten better because they had to stretch their cresativity.
I love how you put it 'other groups are showcasing their voices or their costumes/theatrics, whereas Home Free is showcasing the Song' - perfectly said!
Great reaction to an outstanding group covering a wonderful song. Home Free doesn't just cover songs.... they upgrade them. Adam Rupp is the best vocal percussionist I've ever heard.
Love your reaction. Home Free is the best. Check out their cover of End of The Road by Boyz II Men, Unchained Melody, Thinkin Out Loud/Let's Get it on and so many others.
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
Pentatonix are very impressive but Home Free have my heart, not just for their incredible vocal abilities but for the soul and emotion and joy they put into their songs. I'm sure you'll get loads of recommendations for what to react to, but their latest The Driver, and their magnificent cover of Take Me Home Country Roads should be high on your list. Thanks for playing it twice 😊
This was done last year doing quarantine he did this in their individual homes they all take turns doing lead depending on whose voice was best for the song you need to check out one of Adam Rupp drum solos there are several out there that was filmed during concerts to be this is the best acapella group out there there's no comparison in my opinion
you should hear Austin sing "Bring him home" from Les Miserables over on his own channel. Your "encore" for this video from Home Free should be "Brothers in Arms" their cover of the Dire Straits song....it's a masterpiece in 5-part harmony...no beat-boxing as Adam the beatboxer sings all the way through. PTX & Home Free are both AWESOME and mostly do different genres of music. Also check out Home Free's latest a cover of Charles Kelly's "THE DRIVER"...some of their best harmonies EVER. By the way this was done during lockdown.
Austin's voice was made for this song. He crushed it and now owns it. The guys supporting him full on with their fabulous harmonies woven throughout and Tim's beautiful bass supporting the whole thing. Adam Rupp's vocal percussion/beat boxing was next level, spot on, perfection. Adam is a world class, insanely skilled beat boxer who has the most beautifully accurate drum sounds you will hear. Check out Adam Rupp drum solo 2015 (red shirt). It will blow your mind. It showcases his skills beautifully. These 5 guys are so crazy talented and skilled, believe me, they have brought tears to the eyes of many Home Fries. Pure joy. Great reaction.
Home Free feels their songs ... as you get to know them , you'll see they have a very special chemistry with each other and it comes through in their music . Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole ... you're in for a treat !
They don't actually have a lead singer, by the way. You'll see. This is just what you get with Home Free. Often, gobsmacked. You should hear Adam's harmonica…(the famous “nomonica") They always amaze.
Perhaps the song, which is phenomenal, it I’d venture to say that it’s Home Free singing the song that has gotten you! Welcome fellow “Home Fry” (fans of Home Free) to our rabbit hole. Pentatonix is indeed exceptionally good but Home Free is unbelievably good and in a category unto themselves. They can sing any genre of music and do it brilliantly. They are also all really good guys, humble, funny, warm. Adam Rupp is the beat boxer, Austin Brown (the lead for this song) is the high tenor, Tim Foust is the bass, Adam Chance is the Barritone/bass, and Rob Lundquist is the tenor. They all excel individually but when they come together…oh baby.
I've heard other people try to sing this. Although they sang it technically well, the soul was missing. Austin here had it in spades!! From the first note to the last. ❤ Try another couple songs to see if it was just this song. *chuckles* My suggestions would be: "Can't Stop the Feeling" (Justin Timberlake/Trolls cover with a sick rhythm section breakdown!!) "End of the Road" (Boyz 2 Men cover. I consider this one an upgrade for sure!) "Brothers in Arms" (Dire Straits/Club 4 Five cover - a MASTERPIECE of 5-part harmonies) "How Great Thou Art" (Absolutely stunning!! 5-part harmonies and a gorgeous arrangement.) And yes, Adam Rupp, sounds like a human drum kit! That's all him. And he does so much more. Look for "Adam Rupp Drum Solo" and sit back with some popcorn. Lol And keep in mind that it was recorded about 7 yrs ago. He's gotten much better since then and also has a handful of instruments up his sleeve, as well! Haha Amazing harmonica, electric guitar, castanets, bongos/tom toms, and more! We affectionately refer to him (as do his bandmates) as a "freak of nature"! 😳 Oh, just heard you ask... this was done during lockdown, so the only one in the studio was Austin. The other guys were all in their homes. 😍 To keep their fans happier during the whole pandemic and lockdown, Home Free put out 2 videos a month. The first ones were shot just on phones! Then they got home studio setups so they could do more. They let us get a glimpse into their homes, their families, etc. And made some fun/funny vids to keep us smiling at such a bad time. They're very down home, lovable guys who treat their fans like family. That's just one reason we love them so much! ❤ "Meet in the Middle", "Sea Shanty Medley", and many other great ones came out during lockdown.
Tim Foust, bass, very low and very wide range. Adam Chance (called Chance), baritone, wide range. Adam Rupp, beatboxer and tenor. Austin Brown, high tenor, from Georgia I think, lead in this song. Rob Lundquist, tenor with a kind of beatiful bluegrass sound, from Minnesota I think. 3 of them are from the deep south. They do a wonderful Johnny Cash song in Ring Of Fire with Avi Kaplan as a guest bass. One of the first songs to hear is Man Of Constant Sorrow. Very southern and very old. No instruments. Edit: Wait, you covered this one already. I said Adam Rupp is a beatboxer, which is an understatement. He is a whole sound effects crew, and faaaaassst. For fun on the side, watch one of his drum solos while live in concert. Just a microphone and Adam. They also do a really fun tik-tok style Sea Shanty Medley. They covered a Garth Brooks song - Ain't Goin' Down which is only on Facebook. Belt in firmly before starting. No prisoners. After you get to know them and their voices well, try Mayday, but not too soon. It will be much more fun if you wait.
You are correct on the guys' origins. Austin is from Georgia and Rob is from Minnesota, as is Adam Rupp. Tim is from Texas and Chance is from Alabama. Home Free is my favorite band.
Austin Brown: High Tenor, Lead, & Sounds; Rob Lundquist: High Tenor, Lead, & Sounds; Adam Rupp: Percussions, Horn Sounds, Harmonica Sounds, Exotic Sounds, 3rd Tenor, & Bass Rythmn; Adam Chance: Bass, Bass Rythmn, Baritone, Lead, and Sounds; and Tim Foust: Deep Bass (Profundo), Bass Rythmn, Lead, & Sounds. The four "singers" trade off leads often between songs and during songs. Chance takes Bass Rythmn when Foust does Lead and vice versa. Rupp does an almost mechanical sounding deep Bass for effect. Brown can double Rupp on Harmonica sound. They are mostly known and reconizable for their amazing close harmonies at low and high ranges. They mostly stay in the country genre, but they often cover rock, contempoary, gospel, and r&b songs with a roots flair. They do five part harmonies, but it is usually in parts of songs.
Great reaction, it is always fun seeing people new to Home Free get drawn into their special music making. They are expert across the spectrum from ridiculous fun (without sacrificing musical excellence) to deeply felt messages given in the service of the music. They are all highly talented individually, but there is something unique about their blend when they are together.
I was a big fan of PTX until I heard my first Home Free song. Now I rarely listen to them. These five men are just amazing. They sing all genres but lean a bit country. I think they have a richer sound than PTX because its all male. PTX are still very good. In fact I rarely listen to anything but acapella music now.
Home Free is my very favorite. I’ve tried PTX and Voiceplay and I just don’t enjoy them. I acknowledge their talent but they don’t make me “feel” the music the same. And HF just seems more relatable-like a bunch of guys just singing their hearts out. They make it about the song, not the theatrics.
When I first heard this song done by HOME FREE, I knew it was going to be my favorite version. Everytime Austin looks into the camera, I smile and wink lol
I just love the three top a cappella groups. PTX, Home Free and Voiceplay. Each and everyone of them as a group, solo or collaborations are the best music I have listened to in a long time. They are all three different and are masters in their craft. They all leave you feeling better about the people in this world and that is a huge accomplishment. I listen to various other groups as well, Votave, AcaPop Kids and Citizen Queen to name a few. They are all amazing, fantastic, beautiful people and their music reflects that.
Ok, you did another Home Free so i will sub. Everything these guys sing touches you in one way or another. Loving your reaction to my favorite group and hoping to see more from you. This will hopefully be a long ride for you and i will be right there riding with you! This was done during covid quarantine so they each did their part and it was edited together. Tim (bass) is from Texas, Chance (baritone/bass) is from Alabama, Adam (drums in throat) and Rob (voice cuts like butter) are from Minnesota And Austin (lead on this song) Is from Georgia. They competed in and won the Sing Off in 2013.
Adam the one whom is moving his hands and arms. He is “The Man” for all the drumming you hear. Try Man of constant Sorrow. Talk about the sounds he makes. Truly incredible.
Thank You for a great reaction video to Home Free. New Sub here for many more HF reactions. If you're looking for another emotional experience - give a listen to Brothers In Arms. Thanks again! Cheers!
Oh yes Austin (lead here) and Adam (beatboxer) killed this! It’s all a cappella so the drums you hear is all Adam. Watch Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015) to hear him on stage do drums without drums. He’s amazing and can do all kinds of sounds. All the boys can sing and they’re immensely talented and are known for their harmonies. They sing a lot of covers but also write and sing their own music. I discovered them during the pandemic and fell in love. Good reaction Glasses K! 😃

Yes Adam Rupp is a human drum kit and more.
The beat boxer does it all ,he even sounds like a harmonica, when he needs to. They have the best beat boxer, and he can sing too. You need to check out one of their videos of him doing the drums.
Adam Rupp is the beat boxer from (Minnesota). He does a live solo, th-cam.com/video/EanKWLUaDpg/w-d-xo.html it will blow your mind. The lead singer is Austin Brown. He is from Tipton Georgia. Their bass singer is Tim Faust (From Texas) and has a range you would not believe. The guy with the beard and glasses is Rob Lunquist from (Minnesota )and has a beautiful tenor voice. The last guy is Adam chance can't remember where he is from, they call him Chance, to differentiate him from Adam Rupp. You cannot go wrong with these boys. They are the best of the best. I thought Pentatonix was the be all and end all of A Capella until I found these guys. I still love Pentatonix but... I love these guys more.
Brand new viewer here, Now that what I call a Good Reaction to my favorite vocal group and my favorite singer, Austin Brown !!!! Hope to hear more Home Free from you.
Just so you know "NO INSTRUMENTS WHERE NEEDLESSLY HARM IN THE RECORDING OF THIS SONG". Thank You for your attention, we know return you to your enjoyment of this video. By the way yes those are real drums created by the human voice.
Adam Rupp is a real drum kit all by himself. Along with a harmonica, a DJ scratch, and so many other things. You should watch some of his live drum solos. It’s all Adam. He’s a genius. Home Free consists of the 5 best vocalists I have ever heard in one place. Enjoy the journey. Gospel, R&B, country, some hilarious comedic work, songs that will surely make you cry….
Tim foust bass,Adam rupp beatboxer,Rob lunquist tenor,Adam chance baritone and Austin brown high tenor. But tim can cover 5 octaves and chance can also cover octaves you just have no idea try mayday
Home Free doesn't do covers. They do upgrades. There's a good reason Adam is referred to as "the man who swallowed a drum kit. " And yes, Austin is in love. He was singing to his girlfriend who was in the studio, off camera.
The beatboxer is one of the best I've ever heard. They call him the "Freak of Nature" It is all Adam Rupp. No instruments involved. This is one of my favorite songs they do. And there are many. The lead singer (for this song) Austin Brown had his sweetheart in the room with him while he sang this.
I love watching reaction vloggers reacting to Home Free, especially FIRST reactions. Second reactions are fun also because they are just as astonishing as the first time. They are extrodinary! Vocal percussionist, Adam Rupp (beatboxer extraordinaire, regarded in some circles as the best beatboxer out there) and his brother, the very talented Chris Rupp, were among the original members of Home Free, formed in 2001. They call Minnesota home, along with melodic tenor Rob Lunquist, who joined the group in 2008. In 2010, Tim Foust, singer/songwriter and native Texan, toured with Home Free as a guest voice until 2012 when he became the full-time mind - and speaker - blowing bass. In 2012, Home Free signed on as guest performers on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship where they met southern Georgia-born Austin Brown who was a featured performer on the same cruise and expressed interest in Home Free. Austin joined Home Free in 2013 filling the upper ranges with his soaring melodic tenor. Also in 2013, Home Free auditioned with this line-up for The Sing Off, fourth season, and changed to a more country sound with which won the competition. In 2016, native Floridian, Adam Chance joined the group when Chris Rupp decided to strike out on his own. Usually called Chance, he sing bass, giving Tim's five octave range more options for harmony. Chance also fills the baritone and adds extra depth by adding another layer of beatboxing with Adam Rupp, who BTW, has a nice set of pipes himself. All five members of Home Free have backgrounds in musical training. The Rupp Brothers and Adam Lunquist all have BAs in music. Tim Foust and Austin Brown are active in songwriting and arranging for the group. They are an extraordinary group and seem to truly love what they are doing. And it shows in every arrangement, every chord, every note they share with those of us bless to hear them sing. This video was created during the time of covid. Austin was in studio singing to his ladylove who was sitting beside the camera, while his mates were recorded singing to their significant others from home. I don't understand how the magic works, but it does and it is indeed magical.
there's so much sadness and horrible stuff and tears going on right now, it healed my heart a little to see you shed tears for the beauty of music. thank you for your honest reaction.
I also subscribed because of Home Free! Please do many more and go down the rabbit hole with us Home Fries! They are absolutely my favorite Acapella group around. Adam Rupp is the most fantastic beat boxer there is! Love Home Free!❤️💯
I think it was during Covid lockdowns. So they weren’t at their homes. This song is very beautiful with them doing it. A man that can hear a beautiful song and cry, that is a wonderful man! When a man has emotions I always cry too. When you reacted to the Prayer, I told you I cry every time I. Hear it. Music a cappella music to me is so much better (I can’t think of another word) to me because I think it hits your soul more? Faster? I am sick and disabled and I can’t go many places but thank God for TH-cam! I am going to send you a link to react to if you want to. It’s the lead singer of this group and the bass guy. They are singing with instruments. It makes me happy. I think you will like it. 💕💕💕
You are wrong about the percussion. That is all Adam making those sounds. It is possible and he's a master at it. You need to go to one of their live concerts. They usually have a part in there, where just he is showing his awesome talent. Truly amazing. This whole Band is truly awesome. Every reaction channel I've watch have been totally blown away. I realize this was posted back in May, but right now 10/24/22, you need to go find the video that Rob and Austin put out singing Nessun Dorma. There are not enough words to describe just how much talent this entire band has.
Adam Rupp's drums, in my opinion, are the best in the acapella world. The best example, to me, is in their collaboration with Lee Greenwood and the USAF Singing Sergeants doing "God Bless the USA"( th-cam.com/video/SrMftm6Km3g/w-d-xo.html). At 2:30, his marching snares are perfection...and stick around for the surprise in the last 10 seconds of the song. If you want an example of the best drum fills out there, try their Hunter Hayes Medley (th-cam.com/video/tjbHlUSUwKM/w-d-xo.html) also at 2:30 is the third song "I Want Crazy". Adam's fills in this song are incredible.
The difference: Some A Capella groups sound good.
Home Free FEELS good.
i love that
AMEN!
Yup!
Well said. I concur completely.
Home Free IS the BEST
The beat boxer, Adam Rupp, does a “drum solo”. You should check it out.

Austin Brown was born and raised in Tifton, GA. If you want to hear the depth of his talent, listen to his version of "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserable.
The "drum" is Adam Rupp. If they ever have real instruments, you will see them. "What was that?"was also Adam! Lovely reaction!
wow , he's too amazing omg
@@GlassesKingdom Watch this drum solo by Adam in 2015 (?). th-cam.com/video/EanKWLUaDpg/w-d-xo.html
@@GlassesKingdom gotta see one his vids of showcasing his "drum" skills.
That is a real vocal drum.
You Will go down the home free rabbit hole after this song, you won’t get enough of home free until you do

I agree 👍💯. They got me through quarantine. I love them

Thank you Ingrid
Gjad to find another person addicted to Home Free.
Home Free is absolutely the BEST!!! More, please!!!🤗
IT IS ALL ALL VOCALS, THEY ARE THAT GOOD
Home Free makes you feel what they are singing, no other band makes me feel that way, love them😍

Love the original, but this is my go to rendition now! Home Free more than did this justice!! Loved the reaction - thank you! 🍟♥️
Their version of Unchained Melody is just amazing....
Watch an Adam Rupp Drum Solo. It's mindblowing
i will certainly check
Austin Brown had his lady in the studio with him when he recorded this. She was sitting next to the camera man while it was being recorded.

THAT NOISE - all of them - IS THAT OF A VOCAL TALENT CALLED Afam Rupp = Beat Boxer EXTRAORDINAIRE ! Yes - it is possible. Yes THEY ARE THAT* GOOD* !!!
Totally agree. Can’t get enough of them
I have absolute ear-gasms when I hear this groups harmonies!
When I first heard this song done by HOME FREE, I knew it was going to be my favorite version. Everytime Austin looks into the camera, I smile and wink lol
You are one of the first reactors to notice the backup vocals. Fun to watch you discover my favorite group.
They are the best. So many different things that aren't the same.
I subscribed because you appreciate our guys. Home Fry here (dedicated Home Free fan) 🍟👋
Hahaha! It's not a drum kit,it's the amazing Adam Rupp, beat boxer extraordinaire!
Adam the one whom is moving his hands and arms. He is “The Man” for all the drumming you hear. Try Man of constant Sorrow. Talk about the sounds he makes. Truly incredible.
He started his Home Free journey with Man of Constant Sorrow 😉
Adam (The beatboxer) is called a human drumkit because he is that good.
Michael Bolton also did a FANTASTIC cover as well. Used to listen to him with my parents when I was a kid. Home Free...Whew! Blow me away!!!!!
It wouldn't matter if you had listened to music for 50 years, that is Adam "the Ruppster" Rupp! He IS a drum kit! Check out his drum solo videos.
Lol 😂 I don’t only listen music though I play a lot of music over the last 30yrs and recorded over a thousand songs
Thank you for stopping it so many times!😉 Gave us more chances to appreciate how gifted the guys are!
Watch “Home Free drum solo” will blow you away. And yes it’s 💯 % Adam!!!
They are always amazing, but one of my favorites is Working for a living. It's silly but Adam is exceptionally good
Yes, Brothers in Arms is a must see. Brothers in Arms is the song of a dying Soldier.
Adam Rupp is the drum and can do harmonica as well. He is amazing.
Great reaction!! I love Home Free and any song/cover you choose will be AMAZING!!! Thanks for a great reaction!
Thank You for a great reaction video to Home Free. New Sub here for many more HF reactions. If you're looking for another emotional experience - give a listen to Brothers In Arms. Thanks again! Cheers!
Love these guys...saw them in concert...great show. Tim is from Texas...my hometown.
Vocal excellence
Oh yes Austin (lead here) and Adam (beatboxer) killed this! It’s all a cappella so the drums you hear is all Adam. Watch Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015) to hear him on stage do drums without drums. He’s amazing and can do all kinds of sounds. All the boys can sing and they’re immensely talented and are known for their harmonies. They sing a lot of covers but also write and sing their own music. I discovered them during the pandemic and fell in love. Good reaction Glasses K! 😃
Adam not only swallowed the entire drum kit but the sound board as well! 🤣. The Ruppster kills it every time! 😂
Lol Adam is a walking drum kit watch His drum solos awesomeness Gods gifts and talents unto all mankind.

Yes Adam Rupp is a human drum kit and more.
To know that Adam Rupp is a vocal drum kit, you have to listen to his drum solo. It will blow your mind and, you won't have any doubts anymore.
Watch Adam's drum solo
The beat boxer does it all ,he even sounds like a harmonica, when he needs to. They have the best beat boxer, and he can sing too. You need to check out one of their videos of him doing the drums.
Wow .
Thank you for pointing out the drum beats. I'm starting to appreciate more!
It’s all vocals and the beat boxer is amazing
Watch Adam live and then say he isn't a human. drum. Harmonica. Etc.
Check out Adam Rupp Drum Solo
Woowww,,,,, that song have been soooo famous since I was in elementry school,,,, hahahaha,,,,
Greetings Glasses Kingdom. Wow. This group is one of a kind. Love this. Great reaction.
Superb reaction to an iconic song. 🇨🇦🤗🥇🔥
I love your reactions!
And yes, Austin is in love. He was singing to his girlfriend who was in the studio, off camera.
If you look up his Drum solo , look for the video with the red plaid shirt. It awesome!
Loved your reaction 💕. Thx for sharing.
there's so much sadness and horrible stuff and tears going on right now, it healed my heart a little to see you shed tears for the beauty of music. thank you for your honest reaction.
You have to watch Adam Rupp do his Drum solo with only his mouth and foot. Will drive you crazy. Welcome new Home Fry.
Welcome to the rabbit hole!! They do every genre, including comedy! Enjoy!!
Adam Rupp is the beatboxer look him up
I also subscribed because of Home Free! Please do many more and go down the rabbit hole with us Home Fries! They are absolutely my favorite Acapella group around. Adam Rupp is the most fantastic beat boxer there is! Love Home Free!❤️💯
Love Home Free❤️
Wow ..... how amazing ❤
Love me some Homefree! Keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
oh you need to listen to more Home Free.
Love Austin Brown Greet singer love the whole group
I am 💯 home fry!! ❤️💙❤️💙❤️
Look at Adam Rupp drum solo. That will pretty much clear up any doubt you might have about his capabilities. Lol He is awesome
You should check out Adam Rupp’s drum solo!!!!!!
Adam Rupp is the real deal, 2x beat box champion.
There is NO drum kit. That is all the beatboxer!!!!!!
