This man was being erased by ancient magic and just said “No”. He was about to lose and summoned a God that no longer existed. Let’s be honest, he only loses because plot.
In his fight with yugi during battle city, he had so many chances to beat yugi, but he just didn't because of the plot. He got shafted in that duel. Would have been way cooler seeing him dominate that duel without any mistakes only for yugi to devise a defensive strategy and eventually win. No egyptian magic, just the world champion.
His technology must’ve searched the data on ancient runes to help nullify and repel magic
As well as used his card scanning dual disk to scan the rubble for Obvilisk and made a digital copy of the cards original design
Kaiba being the descendant of a pharaoh he had full permission to do so.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the card Kaiba scanned was blank at first but became Obvlisk when he heard his old master call

Seto Kaiba is one of my spirit animals, along with blue-eyed dragons, of course.
One of the best characters out of any anime ever, dubbed or otherwise.
One aspect of the series I don't think people talk about enough is just how physically capable kaiba is. This man has some serious physical feats.
From leaping onto a moving blimp to crushing that metal water bottle with his bare hand, he's got some power.
Also when he went to the place where Yugi and Atem dueled during the Dark Side of Dimensions movie, he set this Jet to land and jumped out really god damn high in the air and landed before the jet did.

Remember guys TGS Anime has confirmed everytime kaiba and yugi dueled kaiba coulda won and very quickly but the only reason why he lost was cuz the writers decided it
Also, if you've read the manga, in the duelist kingdom showdown, you can see Kaiba's cards and one of them is negate attack. In other words, he would have beaten Yugi even without his suicide cheating, unless the idea was that his mind went blank from the threat of him losing that he kept missplaying or something.
