    It’s the camps that don’t go right that we learn the most from! Best segment for me was 37:00-37:39. Top effort, love your coffee culture ☕️ you’re doing fantastic 👏👏👏

      @@OutdoorsmanDave maybe it was so good due to the hard work to get my fire going and the ordeal to get some of the wine into the cup haha. It was a wolf blass gold label cab sav 2017. Take one on your next trip lovely by the camp fire

    I'm glad you enjoyed the wine because it certainly made you work for it, and I'm embarrassed to say that you put more effort into cooking in the bush than I do with a whole kitchen at hand at home. Another beautifully shot video Abel. That little Robin was a cool thing to capture, he/she was a neat little character.

    We couldn't get away into the hills this weekend... so it was super nice to sit down to chicken off the webberQ and a new tramp and camp vid. And it's a goodie, the bottle breaking, kiwi shrieking, late night philosophizing, photobombing robin all make it pure gold. I couldn't believe you got across that with dry hooves! The same dour damp wood conditions which stymied me last week! I didn't have confidence in wood collection to commit to the hour of blowing, probably would have keeled over before even starting on the wine. Kudos for prevailing sir. Coonawarra shiraz has been the best always. I might have to get a tarp. Just bought a Lanshan2 for light trips. In that type of weather we use hike umbrellas from PackGearGo in Wakefield, so much drier, the most breathable wet weather gear you can get... some of our friends think it's lame, but I've found it pretty crucial to be able to do photography with the big camera in rain. This triple La Nina monsoonal season is getting a bit much.

    • @AbelandVictoria
      @AbelandVictoria  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So that bird call was a kiwi? Often in the Cobb I hear this call. The robins were very inquisitive. I notice that they were around in almost all the shots while I was camped. Scarpa leather boots seem to be the real deal very happy with them so far I was also surprised my feet stayed dry! I might get a air mattress pump that has dual use also as a light to help with blowing on the fire. Definitely going to be getting that wine again maybe for home I think I prefer a few beers while out camping tho. I’m thinking about a ultra light weight single person shelter for my solo trips. Having the tarp is awesome I’d definitely get one if you like being out in the rain.

    • @kanehartill4178
      @kanehartill4178 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AbelandVictoria I think it was a kiwi, quite different to the usual weka. I saw my first kiwi in the wild last winter near aorere shelter, at 10am, was huge female almost white. I'd be interested to see if those little pumps output enough for fire use. We did part of the able tasman couple weeks ago, awaroa around to wainui, was so good, only saw five people out on separation point. Had a great fire at mutton cove. I was surprised at how hilly the track is. On the last day I had a hefty pack with the cooking gear, 3person tent, hotwater bottles, and three 1kg camp chairs strapped on top. We'll get some helinox chair zeros some day, but bogged down building new home atm.

      @@kanehartill4178 pretty them little pumps have the power I have seen them in use. Yeah abel Tasman is nice. Maybe I could do a loop incorporating the inland track. I have the skyline ul camp chair from big Agnes it’s 750 grams I think but has more stability then the chair zero and sit a bit higher feet also don’t seem to sink into ground to much
