    4:59 Race Face SIXC35 reduce the chatter a great deal too, but they are flexier horizontally, One Up are much stiffer horizontally, so if you mess up the angle you will feel the harshness.

    Enjoyed this, thanks! I just picked up a Spectral CF8 (arrived today actually). Mine weighed in at 31.5lbs stock (I think they installed tubes in the tires, so that may have added weight), so less weight to drop compared to the awesome 3lbs you saved. But have not even ridden it yet and have a few upgrades ready to put on. Renthal V2 Fatbar Carbon is almost 200g lighter than the stock bar. I am okay with the stock stem for now, 40mm feels good and while a nicer stem would save 30g, I can save that for later. Other than that, have some NOBL TR37 carbon wheels coming soon with 1/1 hubs. I have the TR37's on my Wreckoning and love them. They should shave off close to another 200g. Only other upgrade is swapping the 150mm dropper for a 180mm OneUp and lever. Not likely saving weight there, but absolutely want the extra 30mm drop. Might swap the rear tire for a Dissector and maybe put a Assegai on up front, but otherwise I think the bike is ready to rip. So I am figuring, I'll only lose 1lb in total. But still not bad.

    3:31 No it's not, if you look at it from an technical or engineering point of view it makes sense, lighter gear when at the heaviest part of the stroke.
    But they eliminated my knee pain.

    Weight is not as big of a deal as people thought years ago. I think all my bikes 150 travel and over are 33 to 35 lbs and ride great with no compromise's on the Downhill. That Spectral does look good

    Great video. Could you tell me how you dealt with mounting regular headset spacers? There are small positioning pins on the plastic stock spacers and cover of the top headset. Did you chop those pins down? In addition, the stock headset cover is not a circle. Is there by any chance that after a few rides the cover shifts and becomes unaligned with the frame? I also wanted to upgrade the stem on my Spectral.

    • @TheDustyDutchman
      @TheDustyDutchman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @Lutze3D
    @Lutze3D 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Lutze3D
      @Lutze3D 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheDustyDutchman Many Thanks for the fast answer. Well I did remove the guide completely. My problem is the rubber which is protecting the frame from chain slapping. When I‘m in the smallest gear it‘s touching the chain and rubbs constantly.

    • @artlocks755
      @artlocks755 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By visual inspection I thought a 30T chainring might cause the chain to rub the frame guard on top when in the lowest gear. So I contacted Canyon and was told I couldn't put on a 30T. I am thinking a 32T oval behaves like a 30T through part of its rotation so would cause the chain to rub the frame guard at some point. Could the frame size be the difference why the chain would rub on yours but not on Dusty's? My 2022 CF7 is a medium. Now looks like I can't use a 32T or 30T. Seems like a Canyon design flaw not to allow a 30T.
