ADVICE: For check the stability use MSI kombustor (the K icon on the left of MSI after burner). In MSI kombustor activate the artifact scanner. If you get 0 artifact in 1 min yo can consider it is stable....Other tip is that while msi kombustor is runing you can adjust the RAM/Core values without closing the MSI kombustor until the number of artifacts start to increase.

      Im sorry but thats incorrect.
Kombustor isnt a good way to get a stable OC.
You can easily run into problems when booting up games, and it all comes down to the engine being used, if its DX11, DX12 or Vulkan, and so on.
Also you can have what you think is a stable overclock in 20 games, and then you run into one game which crashes because the overclock isnt stable for the engine being used.
The only way to test for stable overclocks is by actually playing all the games you have installed for days or even weeks.

From Russia - Ukraine) Core voltage - this slider will not harm you - since it no longer works as it did before episode 10. Previously, this slider allowed you to control the voltage directly. Now this parameter allows you to simply use the entire range of built-in voltages - that is, it has become similar to Power Limit)... You can easily, without fear, make sure that it will not harm you even if you put 100 ratings!
You can run the test and make sure that the changes it made on GPUs such as the 700 series and everything up to the 1000 series or tenth) will not happen anymore. So what it does is it allows it to use at all stages the voltage that it needs within the framework of the curve - which.

Considering frametime and responsiveness it‘s a huge bonus when it runs with for example 64fps instead of 56fps. It‘s marginal yes, but it‘s nice to have :D

Great video, I was here to learn how to manually overclock stuff instead of using auto OC. One thing I noticed was that with the voltage, you were vague and only partially correct. It doesn't add to the voltage, it simply limits it or allows 100%. 0% voltage makes it so that the GPU automatically adjusts its voltage in different scenarios. 50% sets the voltage to a 50% constant of the maximum, and 100% makes the GPU run at maximum allowed voltage 24/7. It's not adding, so it's not 150% or 200%. But the thing you were correct about is running the GPU and 100% voltage can greatly shorten the lifespan of the card so 0% is recommended. However, if you want to squeeze every last bit of performance you can then 100% is the way to go. The 0% option which automatically adjusts the voltage can sometimes provide slightly lower voltage than what it probably should be in certain graphically intense scenarios.

@@PenguinsAreColdish If you are trying to get out more performance, set it to 100%. Beware though; long durations of GPU usage at 100% can cause permanent damage to the GPU and shorten its functional lifespan. Computer parts do not last forever, and higher voltages rip apart, or degrade, the silicon in the electronics faster. If you want to under volt, which is basically lowering the voltage so it consumes less power while losing little performance, set it to 75% or even 50%. It all depends on what you want to do with it. If you want short bursts of heavy gaming (2-5 hours), then set it to 100%. Longer duration heavy gaming? 0% so it automatically adjusts and you can keep the GPU for longer. If you're playing something that is not graphically intensive such as Stardew Valley, then under volt it to 75% or 50%. Hope this helps!

@Ancient Gamplays here are some things you got wrong in your video:
    1) Since the Maxwell disaster, Nvidia has cracked down on the amount of voltage that can be applied to the GPU, so you can slide the voltage slider as far as you wish, and it will have absolutely no affect. Since Pascal, the voltage slider has been ignored.
    2) The reason why sliding the Power Target and Temp Target sliders increases the clockspeed is because of the way that Nvidia Boost works. Nvidia Boost will look at where the GPU is in the now with regard to Power and Temp and compares it to the headroom it still has regarding the maximum that has been set. By putting the slider for the Power Target and the Temp Target all the way to the right, you are increasing that headroom, and this is why the clockspeeds will go higher.
You are not directly increasing the clockspeed of the GPU with those sliders, and how much more performance you can get is limited by whichever limit is being reached, either temp or power.
The thing is that the GPU will not hit a limit and then react, but rather Nvidia Boost will slow down the amount of clockspeed increase as it approaches either of those limits. So even if you have more than enough power headroom, if your GPU is getting hot due to bad ventilation in your case, the clockspeeds will not increase. BOTH of the parameters have to have sufficient headroom for the card to boost.
    3) With regard to VRAM speed, Nvidia cards use ECC and as such, if you put increase the clockspeed of the VRAM too much, what will happen is that the error correction will kick in, and your performance will go into the toilet. If you are tuning your VRAM you have to go into the Nvidia Control panel and turn ECC off, then increase the clockspeed until it starts artefacting, reduce the speed to where there no longer are any aberrations, and then you can turn on the ECC again.
    4) With regard to software, you forgot one of the best, which is the EVGA Precision X1 software.
    5) The power limit percentage is based on the max power limit the card has configured in the VBIOS. So if your card has a lower power limit defined in the VBIOS of the card, then the percentage you can increase it by will be higher than a card which already has a higher power limit defined in the VBIOS. This is why for two different 4070 Ti cards, one may allow you to set the power target to 115% and the other to "only" 107%. They both end up with the same power target, even though the percentages are different.
Nothing to do with your video, but if you ever wish to learn how to configure Ryzen from the 3rd Gen onwards and your 7700X in particular, you might consider getting in touch with me on your Discord. You are throwing away a LOT of performance and possibilities running your CPU the way you are at the moment.

The 4070TI is an amazing card even with 12gb of vram, some are complaining is shouldve came with 16gb of vram instead of 12gb. I beg to disagree with people saying it needs 16gb of vram, tho i think its good with 12gb but what no one is talking about is that the 4070ti shouldve came with a 256bit memory bus interface instead of 192bit memory bus interface. If they done 256 bit memory bus interface then that wouldve helped out alot with stuttering when running at 4k resolution and would've gave some smoother head room at 1440p. At msrp for the 4070Ti it should have came with 256bit memory bus interface period with the current set msrp. Sadly this is the last Nvidia card ill ever purchase because it headed toward paying for a brand then paying for performance. So in a few years when the new generation of cards release ill be rocking with AMD because theyre pricing is unbeatable for they're quality of product and performance.

People definetly have been talking about the lower bandwidth of this card since before it released. Good news is that the new gddr6x VRAM transfers more data per clock cycle than last gen. That's why the lower bandwidth didnt end up being as big of a deal as people thought it would be. Yes 256 would be better, but this is still an improvement that shouldn't be overlooked.

Also, the core voltage is not to increase anything, it alows the card to to further in voltage if it needs to, example my 3090 does 1.075mv stock max voltage, with max out it goes to 1.1v which is the correct max numbers from the vbios, if you undervolt the card it doesn't matter, but for records and PR's you should use that voltage slider to the max like the power limit one to allow the card to draw as much as possible and gain 15/30mhz more along side with the extra voltage, it doesn't hurt anything, confia, seja a ar ou com ln2😉

Same power and temp increases but I was wondering if afterburner is even necessary if you’ve already turned on a DOCP/XMP profile in the bios? Also, do you recommend using MSI afterburner’s auto overclock feature? As opposed to manually setting? Thanks 🙏🏼

Well I see no replies to you. DOCP/XMP are for system memory not GPU memory, I recommend doing the auto scan if you don't want to spend time trying to manually OC or don't feel comfortable doing it. I can get a relatively stable OC at least for benchmarking, haven't pushed core beyond +200 or 730 on memory yet. But again only for benchmarking. Hope this helps

my sapphire nitro+ 7900xtx seems to dislike overclocking or undervolting. I have attributed it mainly to the adrenaline drivers/software but it may just be that the performance bios is already pushing the card to close to its limit. I have tested this since late December with very little change but of course I will continue to try with each new driver. Just leaving this comment here incase anyone else has my experience or can add any information.

@@NWSwill The power limit percentage is based on the max power limit the card has configured in the VBIOS. So if your card has a lower power limit defined in the VBIOS of the card, then the percentage you can increase it by will be higher than a card which already has a higher power limit defined in the VBIOS.
