P.A. Gutierrez 4 you’re welcome. That page is literally the go to for the NASM CPT exam. A lot of questions revolve around muscle over active and under active. Reading 5,6,7, 14 and appendex E, Covers a lot of what you need to know to pass your exam. Know the basics of the opt model and what exercises go into each stage and any modifications (hoe to make them easier or harder) go with them. Example: a single leg balance is an exercise done the stabilization level of opt. Also know the overheat squat assessment and what muscles are overactive with any compromises in the squat. Page 196 for the overactive chart. Yes there’s questions about the other assessments but the overhead squat is their focus. You just want to know the basic reasons for the other assessments. Davies rest for upper body agility and coordination. shark is lower body agility and so on. Those things are the predominant questions. Study those thoroughly and the rest of the book you can just rely on the CPT study guide (part of online package once you purchase the certification course) that breaks down the test into the 6 domains. Other than that you’re golden
@@LouBoogaloo, I have been going over Chapter 6 & 7, and page 196, what other areas/chapters & pages are key for me to study/prepare for the exam? You are greatly appreciated 👍🏼🙏🏽💪🏼
Thanks a lot for this. I wish you were my teacher. Not like the talking one instead of teaching, she will instead boast of how she has been teaching for the past 4 decades. I will probably use this guide to go through my studies and pass the exams
So I took my exam in November and failed by 1 point... I’ve had a hard time getting back into the mode of studying. But this is my attempt to get back into it! I’ll let you know WHEN I pass ☺️
Straight to the point and the important shit. Thank you so much. I am 10 days out and just want to get this thing over with lol. I've already coached people and have my CFL1, previously owned a gym prior to service so I have a good feeling I should be able to pass. I just want to make sure I am studying the right stuff because there is so much information just to be focused on very certain things. I appreciate you.
It’s crazy because we have the same studying method & I learned a lot of material by using the quizzes/practice exams and took notes on the items I missed. It helped me tremendously. This is awesome! Thanks for your tips!
Take a deep breath bro! If you have only two weeks and are able to put aside 3-4 concentrated hours a day. Maybe even a little less, you can crush it. Focus on the main things I talked about in the video and be sure to start taking those practice exams 4-5ish days out and marking the questions you get wrong. That will help you know what sections you need to revisit. Also, many of the questions are almost the exact same, just worded different. You got this shit! Lmk how it goes and stay driven brotha.
Yes! Very similar, just worded slightly differently in my experience. There are also going to be a few questions you've most likely never seen before as well, but not much you can do to prepare for those unfortunately haha
So I'm a senior in college right now with a full schedule of 6 courses, and I only have until 10/24 to take my exam. Any suggestions on how to study well in short spurts?
What's up man! I'm a senior in college as well. What I do that works incredibly well is a concept I learned from a book called "The One Thing" (Highly recommend) and Darren Hardy. Remove literally all distractions possible for 60-90 minutes (phone on airplane mode), set a timer on your phone and do not get up until the time's up. It will take about 20 minutes to get into a flow state without the distractions and then you'll start to see some serious focus power come into play!
@@nickupdikeofficial Thank you so much man, I'll definetly try that! It's just super hard to stay motivated and focused sometimes, so Ill start that today and get moving on it. Thanks!
@@nickupdikeofficial Hey man, I had alittle more time than a week, but I studied like crazy and blew through the whole thing in like a half hour and passed on the first try! Your tips for sure helped though, keep doing what you're doing brother.
What’s sup bro! On the OPT model section on the test did it ask all the different types of flexibility - resistance and exercises? Like do I have to remember that whole entire chart in table 14.8 ?
Ricco Phinisee Workouts Focus on understanding the rep/set schemes and rest times for each phase 👍🏽 You don’t need to memorize the whole chart and all the exercises.
What chapter in the sixth edition do they detail overactive and Underactive muscles? Or is it spread out through the book?
Apologize for the late response man! I don't remember off the top of my head, but I'm sure it's in the table of contents or index somewhere
Chapter 6 and 7 but just go to page 196 and memorize that chart.
@@LouBoogaloo thank you 🙏🏽

Do we need prof of cpr before we take exam?
Yes, they require you to bring the CPR/AED Cert!

How did evryone take notes when doing webinars online?
Is the exam multiple choice like how all of the practice modules are?
Yes!
Do you just memorize or can you have any papers/charts with you during the exam?
Unfortunately you just have to memorize and study!
