You are basically playing both parts. You are really good. I met Jim Croce once in the early 70's. He had a Martin D28 or maybe d35. He was the friendliest most humble guy you would ever meet. His songs are really special.
That was excellent!! I'm 52 years old and played out from 1974-95. I did band and solo gig's. I used to do this song and it brought back a lot of memories. In fact after I heard this I cracked open my old Ovation and played for the first time in years. I used to do a lot of America, JT, and one of my all-time favorites was Harry Chapin.
It's a shame that I've learned this song decade ago from you but never liked or subscribed. It's better late than never. Thank you for all these years stratofender2003
Never have I, nor will I ever again, hear such a spot on rendition of that song. At the risk of sounding creeping you made me feel the same way I feel when I hear Croce sing it. Extraordinary.
Amazing job. This has been my song to my wife for years and now at the age of 45 she is in hospice with cancer they say they can't do anymore for and she only has a few weeks to live. So thank you for this great cover!
Jim and Maury would be proud of you. You did justice to the memory. Keep up the good work. As long as young kids like you keep playing these great REAL songs, they'll never die. God has blessed you. charlie tew
Sorry everyone but I don't use tabs. thanking everyone for the nice comments, i just can't respond all the time but rest assured i read all your comments and appreciate your time to post..maybe i'll post some tutorial in the future..
I LOVE JIM CROCE WITH A DEEP PASSION MY WHOLE LIFE I WAS RAISED LISTENING TO MY DAD PLAYING HIS SONGS OVER AND OVER AGAIN.....AND YOU WERE THE FIRST PERSON IVE HEARD DO THIS SONG SO GREAT YOU ARE AMAZING PLEASE KEEP PLAYING JIM CROCE!!
Wow, wow, wow, wow!!!! I clicked on this expecting to get Jim Croce playing this song and got you. I was pissed at first... that was until you started playing. Flawless! You're a maestro! Keep it up!
You are basically playing both parts. You are really good. I met Jim Carey once in the early 70's. He had a Martin Luther King D28 or maybe d35. He was the friendliest most humble guy you would ever meet. His songs are really special.
Great job! Very good representation of the song, both vocally and instrumentally. You included the signature fills while maintaining the underlying chord structure and changes which is not always the easiest thing to do. Jim would be proud.
Wow, this song is so nostalgic, brings me back to times when life was simpler. Growing up, my mom would play classics like John Denver, Peter Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, Everly Brothers, and during roadtrips. Good times long past, but make for the fondest of memories. Thanks for the music.
Listen, I don't know who you are but this is the most beautiful rendition of this Jim Croce classic. The honesty, the sincerity, the deep-felt emotions in the vocals backed by the continuous flow of perfect chords modulation... thank you. I almost dare say your version is a better than the original, but that would be wrong. I love your version. Thank you.
I haven't heard the song for 20 years and your version is as beautiful as I remember. You made a happy man very old!! (or something!). I am going to play your version to my girlfriend.
(: This is great. I love it, a lot. Your voice brought tears to my eyes? That was weird. You have a very beautiful voice, though. (: Keep up the great work. I love Jim Croce. Thank you for playing such a great song.
Excellent...Thanks for sharing your talent....not sure but suspect you were not born when this came out...great to see Jim's music touching a new generation
LOL....I picked this video thinking it was Jim Croce. I was browsing another page for a few minutes and when I came back to pick another song I realized this wasn't Jim Croce just by viewing the page. Great Job!!!
Dadee...da words that were unspoken but you have made it more beautiful when you have delivered it in this song when we're apart. Ferdinand I miss you so much:( fix me and wait for me in heaven will you?
Nicely done and I know this is just a cover and not a lesson but I'm trying to learn this song and it would be nice to see what your doing with the chords at the first and second frets but they're screened out by your monitor... Any chance you can tell us out here the sequence of the chords especially the slide that seems to be an E or A minor from 2-4...
Brilliant!!!! I can see the hours of dedicated practice you've put into this! I bet old Jim is smiling every time he hears this from up there! Keep up the good work!
Great job I've been playing Jim Croce since I was eleven and I am now 47 and I could not have played the piece any better. Please post more. Jeff Arnold

I can understand the 'dislikes'. These people are simply jealous of this gentleman's talent. Great job! You have inspired me to learn to fingerpicking, as opposed to my usual rock 'n roll guitar playing.
(part 2) Sitting in my dorm room, when she answered the phone in hers, I let the needle down and played this song for her..."I know its kind of late". We dated for four years, and I still mourn the end of that relationship... she was and always will be the love of my life. Thank you for doing such a good job on the song. I don't know how to play guitar, and except for by reading the other comments I would never have known that you played both parts at once.
Usually people who sing their all time favourites are horrible to listen to, but you are the exeption to the rule! I love this song very much and have been singing it with you while watching... Thank you for making me sing this sweet song. My you find kindness wherever you go!
That was just plumb beautiful. You're so talented you should do something with it. You could do a whole show just by yourself and people would just sit there and listen and be relaxed and content. I sure would be. I love Jim Croce stuff and you do it to perfection. I have folders of music and you're in one now. I'm looking for more done by you. Keep 'em coming. You're an excellent musician. Don't just sit at home and play--get out there and show your talent--you have it in abundance.
I remember listenin' to this song back when I was only 15-16 yrs. ..was just like an alarm clock played by someone to wake me up for school!.. you perfectly played this song the way....i first heard it!! thank you for uploading it's awesome!

Oh my, I graduated from CSUSB in 2021 and my whole college was the time I found Jimmy’s music. Beautiful soul. U will be missed.

溫柔的清唱,拂手而起的和弦。在這2分半鐘,拋離腦中思緒,卸下心中所纏,只是僻處一隅,默默地欣賞著。
