for all y'all bitching & complaining about the gentlemans' 'ebonics', this is not a video on how to speak 'the queens english'. all it is, is his recipe for making cornbread. i happen to understand him perfectly, in fact, myself being from Philly, i probably have the same cadence, syntax, & accent as this young man does. let's all just 'lighten up', please?

Geez, I was born and raised in the northwest (Washington state), never been near Philly in my life and I understood every word he said--what's wrong with yall? Get your ears checked. Oh and this is one fine recipe for sweet cornbread, too. Not the way I usually make it, but I'm always up for trying something new, and I loved this!

I have been searching all over TH-cam for a recipe for corn meal and I don’t know I guess I did something wrong but none of the recipes turned out until I tried this one. I am now making the best dog on cornbread you ever tasted and of course everybody brags like that however I’m real picky and this has exactly the right moisture and sweetness that I like. I also cut down the sugar to 1/2 c and when I add the melted butter to the top of the corn bread I add 2 more tbs of honey to it when I melt it and drizzle over the top, the honey sinks in and it’s super good, in the past I would add honey to the top and put it back in the oven for the last 5 min and it caramelizes on top a little

So I made the buttermilk cornbread tonight 11/19/15 and it was very delicious. My family really enjoyed it and had second helpings. It is a great recipe. The only alteration I did was I only used 2 tbs of honey in the batter and the other 1 tbs I warmed up and poured on top once it finished baking. Other than than I followed it to the letter. It took about an hour to bake at 350 but it was well worth the wait. Thank you very, it was Awesome.

    Hi Jay
I made your Famous Cornbread and turned out so delicious 😋
I just did it little different
I always disobey on the sugar part, instead of 1 Cup I only add 3/4 Cups of sugar, then I add 1 1/4 top baking powder
and I add 1/2 of the can of Sweet Corn Cream Style......I bake it for 30 minutes but needed more ⏲️ ⏳️ so I add 15 mins. more...DONE❣️❣️
My Younger Son wanted Corn Bread🌽
and he tasted and told Me that it was so delicious 😋 😍
    Thanks 😊

So I made this for a potluck and it came out great! I think the extra butter at the end is a good thing, I skipped it during the test run, and the second time I did it it turned out way better. I got a lot of compliments, thank you! Made it a third time and added even more honey instead of sugar and also added/replaced 1/5 coarse corn meal into the mix and it turned just as good but you can definitely feel the coarseness in there.
Going to try it again and replace the honey with maple syrup to see how it turns out. Thank you again for the recipe.

There are two ways to enjoy cornbread-it can be savory or sweet. It tends to be made a bit more sweet down south and is usually made savory in the north. If you understand that it's SUPPOSED to be that way, then it shouldn't come out as a surprise to you when you make it and it comes out tasting like honey butter. That's personally how I eat mine here in Texas

I'm 3rd generation from Tennessee and I don't know anyone who puts sugar in their cornbread. I say each to his own. You're eating it so make how you want. Also never put butter in our cornbread but slather it on while hot. I did put a little sugar in the CB I made last week and could not tell it had any. Will add more next time. I have started putting a can of creamed corn in my CB and it is delicious. Only 1/2 can For small pan. Everyone has their preference so make it yours.

Thanks PhillyBoyJay. I made these and they came out GREAT !!! I only used 3/4 cup of sugar and I added 1 cup blueberries to the dry mix just before adding the wet ingredients. The blueberries helped keep it even moister than without (in my opinion). Thanks for a great recipe for me to start as a basis. It was the first recipe I watched and then the blueberries were an afterthought which came out surprisingly good. Everyone commented on how moist and delicious, So I made it again 2 days later!!!
