    I feel like the best way to play these games is using Dolphin with an HD texture pack and maybe a 60 fps patch.

      @Kelphelp  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Unironically it might be actually. If it does work on dolphin it's possible on switch. Damn shame man

    I’m surprised you didn’t mention that in the Switch version of Pikmin 2, some of the stuff Olimar must collect has their graphics changed to be original designs rather than actual products. That means what used to be a Duracell battery is just an ordinary battery.

      The reason I didn't mention was because...I forgot :3
      Like I legit forgot to put it in the script 😭

    The reason why it's a HD port is because they probably expected it to not be successful, so they didn't give it the first class remake port treatment

    • @Kelphelp
      @Kelphelp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a very good take actually, there isn't much of a reason go add more content or redo them, so a simple port makes sense

      @@Kelphelp what supports my theory slightly more, is how they shadow dropped the digital releases too

    • @Kelphelp
      @Kelphelp  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yea that makes sense. It came out of nowhere and even from trailers looked to be the same. I just don't think it had thr same priority as Prime Remaster.

    Crazy that they can't even do it in 60fps but at least they bring classic games on newer consoles because a friend of mine never returned my gamecube and who knows if my old pikmin gamecube discs still work after 20 years.

      I really do appreciate them bringing older titles so newer generations can play them but it would be nice to grt better enhancements. I wish they could do better

    Bummer that all the patches aren't on cart, especially on a delayed physical release. Really dumb stuff.

    • @Kelphelp

      It's such a shame because it'd not fully 100% physical but a hell of a shame mannn

    Games like this, and Metroid Prime for example, are the reason i wish the Switch sucessor have pointer controls like the Wii, or an evolution of that, the pointer works really great on these games.

      Honestly it would be nice but the motion imho does a better job than the actual wii due to better tech.

      Naw you weren't they were kinda...miniscule. it's kind of disappointing

    I would have bought this, but it was a lazy port, so like me, anyone that has the original GC games can just play them on the Wii using a GC controller and you aren't really getting any big wins on the Switch, unlike Metroid Prime Remastered which is amazing and will make you stop ever considering playing the GC or Wii collection versions of the game.

      It just needed a bit more to standout and that was the problem. It's close to being solid but no dice

    I am of the opinion that the muddyness, and the lower resolution as well as the lighting all played a huge roll in the original 1 and 2 to add to this atmosphere of "youre the smallest and most insignificant creature on this planet, goodluck". I think it all added to the feeling of seclusion and lack of power that comes with landing on an unknown planet with seemingly no escape other than to go around uncharted areas filled with unknown creatures to find the parts you need. When I look back at the original 1 and 2 I can distinctively remember things like me being unbelievably cautious where you meet blue pikmin for the first time, or worrying about straying too far away from the base where you first meet yellows. The idea that you're an ant, and everything else around you is significant is what I loved most about the pikmin experience.
    I have a question for anyone who has the same kind of view as me, did the games graphical update and smoothing take away that sense of insecurity and danger?

    It's good to saw foutage of Pikmin 1 and 2 on the Wii, because Pikmin games (so 1,2 and 3 on WiiU) are one on my best experience with the Wiimote + Nunchuck combo.
    Wiimote (or Wii remote) have issue, but when you use it to point something on the screen, it works really good, and for Pikmin it make the gameplay so more confortable and quick than with a Controler. You really have a mix playing with a Mouse and a Controler.
    So saw that the motion control is kind meh at best for the Switch port, I don't thing I'm going to buy this port yet, maybe one day but not now. But I like that every pikmin (except the 3ds one who's meh) can be play on Switch.

      Honestly the Wii version isn't bad with its motion controls. After getting used to it I can see it bringing a unique aspect. It's just a shame there isn't more to it, and those weren't brought over

    I love the neon logos used around 3:50. How did you pull off that natural looking flickering effect?

    • @Kelphelp
      @Kelphelp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All through after effects! All of it was custom by me and I took time to make sure the flickering looks as natural as possible!

    At 20$ or 25$, this would have probably been OK I guess. At 50$, it's basically daylight robbery.

      Definitely a very fair opinion. I recommend keeping updated with some prices because it's likely to go down

    upscaled garbage that destroys the original cutscenes. Streched UI, Fucking cropped cutscenes. I bought a steam deck just to play pikmin 2, the only decent solution
