Diagnosed with Colitis a few years back . Went keto and my symptoms were gone within 10 days . I stayed keto for a year and a half and all my symptoms were still gone . I then went off keto and started eating everything again and was okay for about 8 months but recently started getting my symptoms back .. went back on keto immediately and everything is back to normal within a week . Absolute miracle way of eating for auto immune conditions

My husband was on 40 units of insulin a day for years. After starting keto he started noticing that he needed less and less insulin. In just a matter of a few weeks he was totally off insulin. At my yearly checkup, I learned that my cholesterol and triglycerides were in normal range for the first time in many years without medication. Btw, I don’t have a gall bladder. I’m 74 and my husband is 72. The keto diet is amazing! 🥰❤️🥰❤️

This is proof its possible you said you have high cholesterol and triglycerides for years and magically they go to normal range when doing keto for months. How is that possible if saturated fat is the devil. Berry is right in inflammation that's the killer with high carb high fat diet and all that ranch and crappy condiments with soybean oil and cheap fillers like corn syrup.

IBS kept me house bound and at 350 plus lbs i was in a very bad way, I started keto in march of 2019 i am down nearly 86 lbs doing keto/carnivore and my IBS rarely, if ever flares unless i eat non keto foods. (lesson learned!)

    • @evasmith9356
      @evasmith9356 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Chan wong For me I stopped having flares as long as I stopped eating processed foods and started drinking bone broth on a regular basis, daily at first, for several months. For me about 6 months, and I could stop worrying about having a flare or an "accident" but if i were to go back to processed grains in my diet and sugar, it would be "disaster pants" for sure! I have tested it, for me, I cannot go back to that as I know after a while I have the same issue again. Whatever is in there, in processed foods, my body will just move it on through to try to mitigate the damage, especially seed oils, vegetable oil and corn oil and peanut oil. I tolerate avocado oil ok and olive oil, butter and lard and coconut oil but not much else. I cook and eat at home primarily. If I go out to eat, I stick to keto everything, a burger, no bun, steak and salad, etc.on the go if I'm driving and cannot stop to eat a real meal, I will get beef sticks or cheese from a gas station, its not ideal but it can work for me. I also have issues with artificial sweetners, they have triggered my ibs as well, so for me its coffee, tea w HWC, or water, that's it, inever really liked soda anyway so I don't miss it.

55 yrs old; My eyesight got considerably better. Went from nearsighted since early 20's to needing only reading glasses very rarely- mostly due to age. Took only 3 to 4 months of keto and had to take off my glasses I realized I did not need them any more. Used to have acid reflux but not any more.pain was bad enough that I thought I was having a heart attack due to pain radiating across my chest.

How long did it take for the acid reflux to go away? I have a hiatal hernia which causes reflux and a feeling of gastritis. All other natural professionals recommend eating more fiber and less meat. Meat requires more acid to break down in the stomach.
I’m about a week and a half into carnivore and my symptoms have become a worse. I’m wondering if it’s an adjustment period my digestion is going through to the decreased fiber and no carbs or if this way of is eating is not good for hiatal hernia due to the increased acid.

Nothing I tried would resolve the issue and I had pretty much resigned myself to suffering. You’d think carnivore would make it worse but it has the opposite impact.

Hi, I’m responding to Comment you posted on Dr Barry’s site a couple years ago. A lot of people talk about digestive problems, but most seem to be diarrhea, I am the constipation queen even since a kid and now I have Sibo which makes it worse. Went keto lost a lot of weight but I really did it for auto immune issues and constipation but I cannot get rid of the constipation beef bacon just wrecked my gut Cause I’m cramping and constipation as usual. Even chicken doesn’t sit well. I do best on Fish shrimp, and eggs, but it gets boring. I am just curious how you got rid of your constipation, eating meat wondering how long it took and what your diet consisted of. I’m not willing to give up. Thank you.

I’ve been carnivore for 7 months now. I have IBS, but I also have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Psoriatic Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and Osteoarthritis, and fructose intolerant (along with many other severe intolerances). I’ve also been living with severe nausea and refractory migraines for over a decade. I’m sort of a one-stop-shop for rare and severe chronic illnesses. 😂 My gastro issues have made adaptation interesting but I pushed through and now I have nearly normal (meaning average carnivore’s) BMs. I’ve also seen a HUGE reduction in my nausea and frequency/severity of my migraines. Carnivore has been a major game changer. Love you Nisha and Ken!! 💗💗

Hi zebra friend! I have hEDS too and want to flip to carnivore as well. Ive been keto 2.5 yrs and owe it to myself. I have severe positional head pain and suspect a csf leak but who knows what can be done til I try! Glad you've seen significant improvements, I wish more of my friends would try but being underweight and cost of meats are the biggest things I hear. Take care

Plant products can be in your spices too. Diverticulitis hit me for two days after eating bacon with pepper on the edges. Ice packs help but its a waiting game. Drinking a few gallons of water helps a bit, but I’m hoping zero carb keeps me alive a few more years. I’m about six weeks in. Great video.

Hello from Utah! Keto is healing my Ulcerative Colitis. I have Hashimoto's and have switched to your recommendations for it. I also suffer from Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Dysautonomia, Migraines and Ehlers Danlos Disease (hyper laxity). This means that I have collagen that doesn't work correctly. The mast cell disfunction means I have to be very careful of going in to anaphylaxis. I also discovered I am allergic to Wheat, corn and egg yolks, as well as many other environmental allergies. All these problems that I have are autoimmune in nature. I started clean Keto (No dirty Keto) and I am seeing miracles. I am loosing weight. I haven't needed IV support. I am now using the Bathroom like clockwork, without pain. I am having less anaphylactic reactions. My migraines are decreasing and I am bruising less. This all sounds like it couldn't be. But it is. It is working. I am regaining my health. 6 months ago I would never have believed it. **** I do not have a gallbladder. On Keto, I now have less bile in my stool. NOT more.

Its so hard to convince my eds friends especially with gastro or mcas due to all the reactions. Im so glad to hear youre having success too. I as well feel hEDS is autoimmune. Have you heard the rccx theory? Cheers!

@@dana102083 Hello Zebra sister!! Nice to see another one of us here! I would love to hear the dccx theory. It's hard to fundamentally change everything a person eats when they have MCAS, because the fear and anxiety about it can be paralyzing. One addition can lead to an ER visit. I had to do an elimination diet (again) to be able to go all in Keto. My Keto is all clean. Nothing from a box and I stay away from baked Keto goods. I do suffer from hyponatriema that can hit at a moment's notice and Keto has made it manageable. I add as much salt as I want to my foods, I still have episodes, but my drops aren't as serious. So, long story short, I am going to eat this way for the rest of my life! I am so happy to fellow Edsers here! I would love to hear about your journey with Keto.

Im two months in 80-90% carnivore keto and all you say here, I see happening to me. Lifetime of bloating IBS gone. My excessive mucus, constipation, ankle swelling, and even pain in my hand joints greatly improved. I lost a lot of weight and my husband keeps saying how beautiful I am at 73. I do still get occasional hive patches which are still a mystery. They are very itchy. I guess if I were 100% carnivore those may be gone too, but I am not ready yet for 100% carnivore. I still feel a need to fiddle around in the kitchen to add some plant food. I dropped high oxalate vegetables.

Had IBS and lactose intolerance for 20 years. Going keto, with very few vegetables has cured me. I formerly needed digestive enzymes and lactase daily. I have had no meds for 18 months, and no symptoms. I can also now eat cheeses like cheddar, muenster, and mozzarella with no lactose issues. An average day for me includes 2 eggs, bacon, cheese, hamburger, sweet potato or green beans, 85% cocoa chocolate, butter, bacon drippings, seltzer, black tea, White Claw. I've never felt better! My horrible snoring stopped immediately, too. I have no more heartburn. Lost 35 lbs, in 3 months, and kept it off for 15 months.

I'm in SE TX. It all started 2 years ago when I got a sore throat and I had it a month before going to the Dr. She did a H-Pylory test and a strep test, she gave me Protonix, an antibiotic, some kind of shot and the tests came back ok. This sore throat continued and the pain would go up and down during the day depending on what I did. If I had a 30-min phone conversation, it would kill me. I had a cough. I finally realized I was having acid reflux. I really kept putting all this on the back burner.and took a ton of Protonix and it did nothing, A year later (a year ago) I went back to the Dr, and she sent me to a gastro surgeon. He put that scope down my esophogas and it was very inflamed and he told me he could do the VOXX surgery but before that he could do the gastric sleeve surgery because I had gained 50 pounds. I had a medium hiatal hernia that was pushing stomach into chest 1/3 of the way. I said NO WAY. I'm 65 and never had a surgery. I will get busy losing the weight and then maybe I will solve the acid reflux too. This sore throat continued and I was sooo tired of it. I had lost 30 pounds. Also, a year ago, I had cut out soft drinks, coffee, tea, and I kept saying "All I'm drinking is milk and water and it's giving me acid reflux" So, a month ago, I googled acid reflux sore throat and Dr. Barry popped up. I was listening to him talking about dairy and grains and the next day I cut both those items out and my sore throat went away !!!!!! I have also used ACV, I'm now trying Keto to lose 20 more pounds.

I was just listening to a Keto channel regarding the Reflux issue. He had wonderful weight loss results from a healthy Keto diet, but the the Reflux continued. Until he heard about that simple cure of Raw Apple cider vinegar. He puts 1 tsp in mineral water with lemon a few times a day. Gradually after a few months he had tremendous healing, when he had terrible symptoms in the past, and took a lot of antacid medications. Now, he is able to skip a day, with out the vinegar. Dr, Berg has some videos about this. As long as one does not have stomach ulcers, the Apple cider vinegar is helpful.

Hi Dr Berry and Nisha. Thanks for the content. I just want to say that I wish it was that’s simple for all of us. I’ve been on carnivore now for 16 months and I still have issues with my gut and bowel. I just tried the lion diet and quit after 17 days of bad diarrhoea. It’s been a long haul for me.
I’m definitely getting better but find I need to keep some berries in my diet to keep my bowel more settled.
I was strictly animal based for the first few months but the diarrhoea was just too much to bear and just wasn’t stopping, so I tried quite a few different things and settled on berries because they’re still low carb but they make a difference for some reason. I don’t know if it’s the fibre or the oxalate (I’ve had massive oxalate dumping symptoms).
I’m having histamine issues as well and so I know my gut has a way to go, but I’m very slowly getting there.
It’s just not quite as simple for some of us sadly.
Thanks for all you do 😊

I'm getting there! I've had to do a lot of my own research into information available and try some different approaches, but it was SIBO that was the problem, along with mold I'm certain, that was the problem. Tough stuff to overcome for some of us. But I finally feel like I'm on the home stretch. @@alexaberlein7790

My son is 15 and was diagnosed with fatty liver. He’s been doing keto for a month and doesn’t mind it. My son still has serious GI pain and diarrhea. He has all sorts of specialists (fatty liver, motility, and more) and they are offering nothing to help his symptoms. I’m really hoping his new way of eating will show changes in time because it worked for me. I have been on it myself for the last year and a half and have had amazing success with my IBS and gastroparesis. My body is super complicated because my connective tissue disorder affects my GI system and keto still works for me.

IBS-C for decades. Told me to eat more fiber, only made it worse. Went straight OMAD carnivore mid-October, bowel behavior was fantastic, then Thanksgiving happened. Tried to eat a SAD meal with my family and I have been in the bathroom with gas, bloating, diarrhea for 2 days. Returned to OMAD carnivore Friday, body still reacting to Thursday's meal. From now on, I will be carnivore.
