Estonian seems to be the language that looked at Czech, and said "We're not gonna fall for the same trap!" And so they threw in as many vowels as possible vowels.
As someone who has lived in Estonia since birth, I have heard many explanations on why is "Devil" used as a curse word, because I, being actually a Russian person, was just as confused as you, Боря. My Estonian Teacher said it was due to the fact that Devils/Demons (and basically the versions of the word "бесы") were often antagonists in Estonian myths (Kalevipoeg, Big Tõll, etc.). And that's why. Devils here are not related to religion. They are related to basically a form of druid'ism (?). Anyways, yeah, this is why I prefer English. Because it's not as torturous as Estonian.
Exactly. Kurat is not actually same as Devil. Christians who tried to convert Estonians attached that meaning to that word, but originally Kurat was rather more like evil nature spirit.. basically like Trickster. And even saying he was evil, is a somewhat stretch.. Kurat was rarely portrayed as true evil.. rather like a gremlin who does small mischievous and foolish things instead of evil deeds. Kurat isn't murdering and torturing creature like Devil in Christian myths

Haha 12 months is the best troll thing to say in estonian with a british accent xD
I actually had to think what´s so funny about that. In my language(finnish) we say "kaksitoista kuuta", which is pretty similiar to estonian so I didn´t notice it the first time. I need to try to troll someone with this one :D
+qelleri actually kaksitoista kuuta would mean twelve moons. kaksitoista kuukautta is the proper way
Ooooooooooh, I get it now.... :D Never noticed it before...
***** Kaksteist kuud. :)
