I see them firing upon humanitarian corridors which they promised they would not fire upon. I see them stealing grain and other resources so they can sell it. I see them kidnapping Ukrainian children to be Russified in Russia. That is genocide. You don’t need a damn concentration camp to commit genocide. Their war crimes list grows by the day. Quit blowing Putin like trump does.
Dehumanizing people into “the other” always leads to death and destruction. Naz1s dehumanized jewish people to justify their actions, americans dehumanized black people to justify slavery and segregation (ex: 3/4th vote), americans dehumanized native americans to justify taking their land, genocide, etc. and thats just what my ignorance knows, im sure its happened in so many other countries and their politics and history. Edit: i never meant for this comment to blow up, nor for it to get so unhinged 🌟☮️🍀
Yes but who are these people do this? I don't think the Ukrainians even do this. The Ukrianians are like dead soldiers are here come pick them up and the Russians are like no we won't.

that sounds just about right..so weird with the faux outrage at literally any topic that comes up, and hes so smart that he has the answer for everything that comes up (his "unscripted" answers wrapped in misogyny and right-wing/fascistic ideology..classless moron)
Honestly I'm surprised. I've been watching you for like almost a decade, and this is the first time you've ever brought up the fact that you're half Ukrainian. Got to say that's a major flex not to be tossing that at your haters every 5 minutes. Mad respect Roman, keep it real bro
Yeah I honestly found that surprising that he never mentioned it. However, I know that heaps of Russians and Ukrainians have family members on the other side of the border. That is what makes that this so tragic. I think in some instances family members don't talk to other family members because they support different sides of the conflict. It is like a civic war but between two countries. As a Turk I would find this similar to Turkey declaring war against Azerbaijanis or the people of Turkish Northern Cyprus.. Or from an Anglo point of view it would like Australia fighting the UK, Canada or the US.
I suppose he realizes genetics don't mean shit. In many E-European countries (and to some Americans) it's a big deal. Even if it's a remnant from generations ago and you have no real cultural link to this people or country, it's supposed to matter. That doesn't make sense. In W-Europe we see it as nonsensical and pretentious to claim a link to certain people exculsively based on genetics without any other relation. It's like Americans who claim to be Irish or Italian because generations ago their family (or maybe just one family member) came from there. That's just a joke.

To be fair to Americans, Andrew Tate was born there yes but was raised in the UK for the most part so these type of people can exist everywhere and come from anywhere. Also, Tate is very anti west and frequently talks about how great Eastern europe is anyway.
He likes Eastern Europe because is it safer, which is true, and because the system is more corrupt than in the west, but the quality of life is not far behind, and he can bribe police and do illegal stuff easily.
Same with North Korea and China. People who get into these kind of weird worshipings are just comparing the currated propaganda they get from these countries with the one from their own who usually is a lot less opaque. So it looks like their own country is worse when it's not in most cases.
Romanians don't even think of a friendship with Russia or Putin being based and a good guy.Don't blame England and Romania either. This is just his idiotic rich man thoughts.
I came upon one of his videos and immediately noticed his unironic wearing of sunglasses indoors when talking with people. I think that's all you need to know about what kind of a person he is. A lot of these douches are so fragile and conceited that they can't imagine that other people have empathy and a conscious. He doesn't care about Ukraine? Then nobody really cares for Ukraine. Some girl does something selfish/trashy or has shallow outlooks on life? Well then all women are like that because he also views the world as a transactional, shallow place. Everything is Zero-Sum to him. So in his mind, not asserting power over others is tantamount to letting others walking over you. There is no such thing as equals in his world, so it's not surprising he loves fascistic governments and ideologies.
i mean the glasses thing is from his boxing days stuff, sensitive eyes and all that shit, but yeah, all the other shit is like a mentality of a pre-puberty 13y.o boy
You're right about the dehumanizing. Even Russians who oppose Putin will be offended by that. So many Americans hated Bush and opposed the Iraq War, but definitely would not take kindly to seeing people put funny music and make jokes about American soldiers dying there.
I'm half Russian and support Ukraine. I've told my family that if it came down to it I'd rather see Russian soldiers die as opposed to Ukrainian ones, that's the way war is unfortunately. I'd rather there be peace so neither would die, but that's just not the situation we're in... I also live in the U.S and don't support the military actions in Africa and Asia, but I can't do much about it. There's a lot of "Us versus them" propaganda going around that governments use to justify their actions. But if issues were humanized more then we definitely wouldn't see as many conflict because the average person in every country all have similar struggles and otherwise have no reason to fight with each other.
Being friend with Steven Segal is already a red flag, in all his movies he managed to deliever only one type of emotion, the straight face one, the default one and he calls himself actor.
My family used to joke about him as "Seagull", until they realised the things in your comment and stopped calling him that and instead just refer him as "(that) Steven" because actual seagulls have more expressions.
He goes to Venezuela to visit the socialist government and has even visited one part of the country named "Canaima" to publicize it :/. He has links with nationalistic governments and extreme left governments like the venezuelan :v.
Zegal seemed in Abbey movie to use a sort of intense concentration face to hide the blankness inside his head. No surprise he would choose to be a citizen of a country where currently making stuff up is the government's way of communicating, and that's right up Zegal's alley, so it's a great match. They can call Hollywood's idiot a national treasure and it doesn't make it true. It's great air time though for the FSB (Fairytale Story Bureau).
This one aged well. You gave the best summary of the Andrew Tate persona. Most people who respected Putin before or during the war fall into this category of insecure western men that love a "strongman authoritarian" because that's all they aspire to be in their personal/professional lives. It depends where you live, in red states, I guarantee there are Putin supports. Hell, I live in a blue state, and some of my uber drivers that I talked to were really conservative and Russia supporters.
6:05 dehumanising the enemy is standard in any wars. In WW2 you never fought people, you fought a construct. You were fighting the fanatical Japanese, the genocidal Nazis etc you were never fighting a human being with a family and dreams and ambitions. Even in WW1 Germans were portrayed in ways to dehumanise them. It's just a standard thing. Same goes in GWOT, when fighting the Taliban nobody asks "oh maybe the taliban offered them money" or "maybe they joined because one day they woke up to a dead family member from a foreign bomb". Like I get why you say it's slippery but it's totally normal for warfare.
Yes, normal on the fields. On social media? Not so much. Does Putin and his imperialist goals suck? Yes. Do Russian soldiers deserve the pain and suffering Putin and his evil regime cause them? No.
@@akoskari42 what do you mean not normal on social media? Did you just miss the past 20 years of GWOT where dehumanisation was commonplace in all media? Did you forget in WW2 the Soviet propaganda which portrayed all Germans as the enemy and led to so many rapes? Did you forget allied propaganda played on radio and in the news papers which dehumanised whole cities for us to bomb? It's normal in social situations, it's normal on media. Back during GWOT there were literally votes on Instagram as to whether a Syrian unit should execute a captured terrorist, with people cheering it on with no further context.
When you're fighting a war, then of course dehumanizing your enemy is necessary - maybe not in all contexts, but as far as it helps you kill soldiers from the opposite side. But when you're simply following news - is that dehumanization really necessary?
@@annasawicka4096 it's normal, I don't feel in a position to say if it's necessary or not. I think after how much Russia has dehumanised Ukrainians you shouldn't be too shocked that it gets returned. As I said, if you go back to WW2 you see the same stuff, in Britain we actually had Germans lynched and targeted because of the war by civilians (which I don't condone btw). I am very strongly anti-Russian government, in all its forms because of their attacks in my country but I'm not a Ukrainian on the ground experiencing it first hand right now. Your question would be better posed to them, personally I don't feel sorry for soldiers using the "oh well I have to because I'm just following orders" excuse but like I say, it's not my place to say if it's a necessity.
Thank you Roman for your thoughts on the Russian soldiers dying. Most of the time its poor boys who have little option but to take a contract in the army. I support Ukraine, but yeah, its sad people have to die for nothing. Keep your head up lad, you make great videos.
I'm a conservative and I wasn't stupid enough to see Russia as the 'good guys' (actually, generally speaking there are no 'good guys' or 'bad guys' just different perspectives), but I definitely gave them the benefit of the doubt in a lot of cases and sometimes I would take their side on certain issues. However, that all ended the moment they invaded Ukraine. That really lifted the veil for me.
Think about who the Russians are and what has happened to them over time. 27 million killed in WW2. Total destruction of their power structures by piecemeal. They were literally asked by these peoples of Eastern and Central Europe to dominate them because before that these tribals peoples were literally always at war. Now these tribes have their own countries and their own identities expressed internationally and the world sees no need for Imperial rulers. So where does that leave Russia? Without an identity? Perhaps, but to fight back is an option. To get back what they had is another. Will it cost too much in the end? Probably. However, at the end of the day, it's all just business. As ugly as it may be.
You obviously haven’t done much digging on the situation. Russia didn’t invade just because theyre “bad” . I doubt you’re a conservative, considering you would of done enough research on the whole situation.

I'm a dirty U.S. centrist, and this is a common theme among the right. They value leadership with conviction and realpolitik/a lack of perceived political correctness. As you've mentioned before, RT subverted the right and basically told them what they wanted to hear about Putin. It's going to take a while for this rhetoric fall by the wayside.
It's ironic isn't it? I remember before the mid-2010's when the right hated Russia and Putin as well. I'm sure there were exceptions but it's astounding how times have changed.
Russian intelligence is hard to break, it will require good faith between news channels, social media, and internet providers to track news sources and subvert them with counterintelligence.
To be fair, most republicans believe that Biden isn’t doing enough to SUPPORT Ukraine. So the whole idea that this is simply the entirety of the right is a major generalization.

The last thing you said summarises the biggest tragedy of our time for political attitudes… if you are conservative overall it doesn’t mean you have to agree WITH EVERY SINGLE THING. Same like if you are more for the spread of wealth, it doesn’t mean you have to support your children being told there is no such thing as a man and a woman and there is no value in tradition and discipline.
A lot of my fellow Americans don't realize that culture is more complicated than modern borders. My Polish ancestors also had Ukrainian cousins. But according to people just looking at Google Earth, culture and history ends when you see a sign saying "Now Entering Ukraine". I'm also annoyed that a lot of Americans forget this with our own neighbors, mostly Mexico. I get that I'm also Mexican and understand that culture doesn't end at the border, but I guess don't tell academics that one, shortbus or otherwise.
It’s just the ethnicity versus nationality argument. People forget countries like America and Canada and Australia have more of a focus on ethnicity because we were very multi cultural countries. Throughout our history our identities are directly tied to things like our skin color color or the shapes of our nose or the shapes of our skulls or our gender or all of those things put together. And although I do think that the United States takes this to a huge extreme, I do kind of wish Europeans would give us a little more leeway on that because we have a very long history of oppression and immigration and migration that affects our views on culture and race. For example, plastic paddies are so annoying. I totally get it. But people attached to that “Irish“ identity because it’s the only one they really had. America is a very individualist country and who you are as the individual is such a huge factor. It’s why the definition of what is considered “white“ changes so fucking often throughout our history. There was a time where Mexican Americans were considered on the same level as white Americans. World War II came around and changed that. This topic is so fucking complicated and I’m just gonna go on a tangent if I keep going but hopefully you understand my point.
The inability to divorce cultural ties from national borders is what led to this whole mess. Russia saw that there were many people speaking russian in ukraine and felt entitled to expand their borders to encompass them, regardless of what those people themselves wanted.
It’s academics who’s tryin* to get people to remember that culture isn’t defined by borders - but sadly people will rather listen to numbnuts like Tate, Tucker Carlson, Dennis Prager, Ben Shapiro, and Lobsterdaddy!

It legitimately worries me that there’s a whole legion of young men who follow him.
What he didnt say is how he changed his thinking. He didnt do it cuz he wanted to, the youtube algorithm showed him what to do to gain more views, fame, honor glory and money. And that was to betray his country in favor of a new ideology created by the west, to influence people like himself. His perception of reality got changed thanks to other forces from afar. Bet he wouldnt say that to you.

This idea that only the right wing is pro Russia is ridiculous. The amount of communists and far left “America is imperialist” types I’ve seen simping for Russia is horrible, but not surprising.
sure oh for sure. not just because there are more far right people than far left in western countries, but also the percentage of the right that's pro-putin now is way higher than the percentage of the left. there are polls for that. though there is a significant additional percentage of the left who effectively serve russia without realizing it by opposing weapons deliveries to ukraine and ridiculously asserting that peace negotiations should be undertaken intead and that the weapons prevent negotiations. of course in reality, the military power and military success of either side is the basis for any negotiations. making ukraine weaker just means that ukraine will at whatever point in time after peace is reached be smaller and more controlled by russia.
It's more like today the hot thing is to be anti establishment. Whether your Right or Left leaning. The media says Putin is bad? That must mean Putin is good. The media says covid is dangerous? That must mean it's not dangerous. Blah blah blah.
5:45 yeah I agree, loss of human life is tragic, watching Russian soldiers getting blown up with a trap remix of the Ukrainian anthem playing to it is kinda fucked
Yes a lot of far right guys love Russia. I would add that there are some people on the far left that support the Russian war (tankies). Their geo-political view boils down to "USAbad".
For me, it was mainly just realizing that I was a conservative for my own selfish reasons. Also I'm in immigrant to the United States and they were very anti-immigrant, which I never was. It got to the point where I started realizing that I was supporting a movement which would never want me as a member.
But the thing is, the so called "conservatism" that we see in the US today is a bastardization of actual conservatism. Conservatism is all about being responsible and not make rash decisions. It's about listening to the advice of those before us, but still being able to adjust politics to fit with how the world is changing. The current republican party is trying to revert society to the past, that's not really conservatism.
Speaking from the viewpoint of a centrist libertarian I haven't seen any conservatives supporting Putin here in America. Though it might be because I don't surround myself by lobotomites.
Putin thinks that Ukraine is one of Russia's colonies, and Ukraine becoming a pro western democracy would undermine his own fascist regime. Nothing complicated about that
Really interesting to hear about your journey from this kind of populist conservatism (although I'd put Watson in a category further to the right than that) towards the left, and how that was broken by just one thing that you couldn't agree with in their world view. Perhaps an argument against this strategy of politicians from the centre-left to shift their positions rightward, particularly on social issues, to appeal to voters? Guys like Tate really relish this position of being the false prophet who will tell you what everyone has been trying to hide from you. Snake oil salesmen who will peddle some answer as to why you can't find sex or love, or why your financial situation is crap, or why you can't get a job and it's ultimately someone else's fault and rather than being more empathetic, listening to people, being more honest or vulnerable you should instead be more aggressive in what you want - which usually comes with some element of breaking consent.
Tate's political views are the those of a confident ignorant person jumping at any hypothesis they find plausible and thinking it's some deep insight.

Youre 10000% right that dehumanizing people is a slippery slope, its a very, very dangerous thought process.

I think he mentioned it when he was doing one of those genetic heritage tests in a video some years ago that he had some family history around Odessa.
How is being Ukrainian a flex ?
I suppose he realizes genetics don't mean shit. In many E-European countries (and to some Americans) it's a big deal. Even if it's a remnant from generations ago and you have no real cultural link to this people or country, it's supposed to matter. That doesn't make sense. In W-Europe we see it as nonsensical and pretentious to claim a link to certain people exculsively based on genetics without any other relation. It's like Americans who claim to be Irish or Italian because generations ago their family (or maybe just one family member) came from there. That's just a joke.

Some girl does something selfish/trashy or has shallow outlooks on life? Well then all women are like that because he also views the world as a transactional, shallow place. I also live in the U.S and don't support the military actions in Africa and Asia, but I can't do much about it.

I'm sure there were exceptions but it's astounding how times have changed.
russia's ban of the word "war" etc is real political correctness.
I dunno if I'd call it realpolitik, when Putin's recent actions have demonstrated nothing but ignorance for the political state of the world.

Holding my opinions on Russian leadership, militarily, politically and most meaningful capacities aside. My heart is crushed regardless of who I think about, coworkers cousins in Russia fighting on the fronts, family blood fighting on the front for Ukraine is crushing and the inhumanity shown is damning on us all. 💜

Tate might own a bugati but as a romanian that wont stop him from stealing a bicycle to sell it for metal
Funny that, because that's exactly what the Romanians did in 2015 to me. Just walked into my garden and took my bike.
