    Wow! The equipment available to us these days is truly amazing.

      It seems like just yesterday if one wanted a Direct Drive wheelbase a degree in both mechanical and electrical engineering would practically be a necessity. Now we only need an understanding partner and a decent disposable income, I lack the former but the latter I'm lucky enough to have. We live in both a glorious and simply bizarre world these days and have an excellent hobby to maintain one's sanity.

      @@Bob-Jenkins agreed 👍🏻 the disposable income I have but only after many many months of saving 😁 the understanding partner is something I don’t have to worry about as I released myself from bondage a long time ago and brought a dog! 😂

      @@tradesman1000 Dogs are awesome, of that there is no doubt, especially the loyalty part. I did have many, many failed attempts at finding the right person, the majority of my 20's and early 30's. Then I grew up and everything fell into place.
      Anyway, at the rate Sim Racing is evolving I think that the next few years are going to be incredible. As a teenager I played a lot of games like Sega Rally, Nascar and F1 games in video arcades thinking how awesome it would be to have something like that at home, and here we are with Sim gear that blows those arcade rigs out of the water. Even at times being forced to stay at home and race to our hearts content.
      Stay safe mate. 👍🙃

    Thanks Berry, good review al always!
    I am the owner of a CSX2 for a few months now. I like it a lot and overall it's very good.
    Not a big fan of the UGT software tho, and their support for iRacing is not really optimal. The TC settings on the display are limited to TC1 only. I run the LMP cars a lot and the TC2 settings (LMP2) and TC3/4 settings (LMP1) are not available on the wheel. Also the fuel usage info fields (fuel used last lap, fuel used last x laps) is not available. I now use overlays to show that information during endurance events.
    I also wish I could assign the bottom two rotaries to selected layout pages. Putting this here, as I know they are also reading the comments!

    I'd love to see a Lite version of this with no screen and 4 paddles. Think that would fly off the shelves and I'd definitely grab one, would be a perfect mid-late 90's/early 00's F1 wheel along with Sportscars and modern GT3's and GT4's. Great review as always Bazza 😁👍

  • @jradicals87

    Don't know if it is the same with this one but I know from the CSX2, the 7-way switch isn't supposed to click with the directional movements - just the soft movement up/down/sideways triggers the key press. The click when you push it all the way to the edge is actually triggering the function of pressing straight on the middle as a button.
    Personally I am not a great fan of the style of this one, seems a bit too 'top heavy' to me, but I am sure it does look good in person. All subjective as Barry always says...I love my CSX2 but I can see that some people would think they look a bit garish with all the lights and colours.

    Barry you say in this review your running your motor at max strength too test out the wheel but in iracing the ffb bar isn't reacting how it would if you were running 100% ffb on wheel base and software, for one it would clip like crazy. So what do you mean by wheel maxed out? do you mean 100% in software but lower in game but technically that isn't maxed out.
    When i run my Simucube 2 ultimate just as a test and set it too 100% and max in iracing my ffb bar was way higher than what yours show and you were on Sebring which is as you know extremely bumpy so I'm a little confused as what you max means with respect

    Such kind of wheel will have an ever decreasing market. Already now 50% of players use VR only (very recent race department poll) and that will quickly grow..

  • @youngyingyang
    @youngyingyang 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    It's beautiful wheel, but with the growing adoption of VR, it sadly makes all the details and visuals on the wheel itself irrelevant... as long as the buttons are easy to physically find, what they look like or what is being displayed becomes a non-issue.

    • @speedingatheist
      @speedingatheist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +VFX Pro Most simracers who tried VR enjoyed it for 30 minutes. For longer stints it get hot under that thing on your head, it starts to become heavy and, of course, the graphics didn't improve for a long time now. It's a gimmick and most likely will stay a gimmick.

    • @youngyingyang
      @youngyingyang 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@speedingatheist If you would have been using an HP Reverb G1 or G2, you would not have come up with such a broad and inaccurate statement. I will give you that fact that it does get hot after awhile, but I bought a small clip-on USB fan that attached to my seat behind my head, and constantly blows cool air into the headset to alleviate the issue. The immersion level is simply way beyond what any monitors can do. With cheaper and older headset, the visuals are simply too blurry (even with Pimax 8K plus, but with the HP Reverb, it's laser crisp).

    • @speedingatheist
      @speedingatheist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@youngyingyang I reject the broad and inaccurate, it's based on the general simracing community. I NEVER heard from any simracer that they replaced their 3 monitor setup with VR. Some may have added VR to their setup for occasional 'immersion' but put it away for longer races. In the end, it's ALWAYS IMHO.

      yeah dude, someone should tell all the idiot bicyclists that their bikes probably aint catching fire, so they can save the gloves. a manufacturer wouldn't make a product that requires gloves on alcantara , you can do what you want, but alcantara last a lot longer if you wear gloves. but for this wheel that doesn't matter since its wrapped in suede.
