  • Learn how to use your Instant Pot to cook frozen chicken breasts.
    Jenn and Barbara from Pressure Cooking Today will show you all the tips and tricks you need to get dinner on the table quick!
    These techniques work with an #InstantPot or ANY other brand of electric pressure cooker, including the #NinjaFoodi #Zavor or #PowerPressureCooker.
    Ingredients
    4 frozen chicken breasts (7-ounces each, about 1½-inch thick), separated
    1 cup chicken broth, water, or juice
    Optional seasonings (e.g., salt, pepper, lemon pepper, garlic powder, onion powder)

    COOK TIME NOTES:
    The most important part of cooking chicken from frozen is choosing the right cook time. This cook time will vary based on
    1. the size and thickness of the chicken breasts and
    2. whether you plan to slice or shred the finished chicken.
    When cooking from frozen, do your best to select chicken breasts that are similar in size and thickness.
    To determine a cook time by thickness, for sliceable chicken, I’ve had good success using 5 to 6 minutes of cook time per inch at the thickest part. For shredded chicken breasts, add an extra 3 to 4 minutes.

    I’ve raved so much about my Instant Pot that my daughter asked for one for Christmas. I can say with absolute certainty that I’ll be referring her to your site because your instruction is clear and concise; thank you! 💕

    Thank you! I just finally opened an instapot that I bought years ago as a gift for my mother, but she never used it, so I took it to my place and had it in the box for quite a while. Not much food here today, but I do have some frozen chicken breasts and thought, "hey I wonder if that instapot can do these very quickly?" I absolutely love this idea, I want to make batches of healthy protein for the whole week so whenever I am working and "too busy" I don't eat junk or very heavy calories out as much. Now I have a great new technique that will fit my goals. THANK YOU! I'm headed out now to buy a meat thermometer as you demonstrated!

    Love this quick one! We have even shredded it, and toast bread on one side (open faced) and piled the chicken on top , with barbecue sauce.

    The younger woman is hell-bent on convincing us to make shredded bbq chicken sandwiches. She's mentioned it so many times 😆 🤣 😂 😹

    Hello! I absolutely love all of your videos, they are so helpful. Do you know if I could cook white rice at the same time as frozen chicken breasts in the instant pot?

    What if you want to cook potatoes and carrots in with the frozen chicken breast how long do you cook them

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those don't have the same cook time, so you're better off cooking them separately. Unless you've diced your frozen chicken, potatoes and carrots.

    Hypothetically speaking, our instant pot was set for 7 mins on high pressure but internal temp only reached 95°. Any suggestions?

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Perhaps the chicken breasts were frozen together so they cooked like a thicker piece of meat.

  • @claudiajanzen2564

    7min on what setting? High? Thank you. 😊

    • @PressureCookingToday

      Yes not all pressure cookers have low pressure so all our recipes only use high pressure. Enjoy!

    I've noticed you guys are not using the ultimate lid pot. Do you guys like the pot you are using better than the ultimate lid pot?

      We have separate air fryers, so we don't generally test recipes in a combo unit. Our favorite Instant Pot is the Pro. th-cam.com/video/HA-bwJD74yI/w-d-xo.html

    Can you sear thawed chicken a little in a pan before cooking in the instant pot Just so it looks a little better.

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can sear thawed before cooking using the saute function just be sure and pat it dry first and use a little oil. Or, you can reduce the cook time and brown it after pressure cooking too.

    I have about 8 frozen breast what to do!!

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as you don't stack them on top of each other so they cook like a thicker piece of meat, your cook time will be the same.

  • @SouthTownChi
    @SouthTownChi 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My pressure cooker seems to be more powerful now than before. When I try to thaw chicken breast, there is a thick outer layer of cooked chicken than it should be.

    • @PressureCookingToday
      @PressureCookingToday  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you have a low pressure option, you can use that or reduce the cook time, but if you're thawing it by pressure cooking, you will get some cooking on the outside.
