I have not tried going to an Hermes store in my area as I hear too many horror stories. Instead I tried my luck in the FSH boutique in Paris. I was very fortunate to score a Constance on my first visit and a Kelly on my second visit. On my second visit, I could choose between a Birkin or a Kelly but Kelly is my first choice. Thank you so much for sharing !
I’m so glad I’m not the only one struggling. My SA at T&Co. was so good to me and I got used to being treated like I mattered. Totally different at Hermes.
Some tricks to offer! Avoid returning and exchanging , no SAs like that :) bc returning and exchanging at H, is always getting managers to deal with. To be offered at H, always need approval from manager :) Impression is important. This is H. Make 1000000% before handing your credit card. SAs are happier you not to buy than buying then do R or E.
A bigger spender probably feels more welcomed and are being prioritized as compared to a “budgeted” spender feels less attention. Sadly, It’s just the reality everywhere not just Hermes. Just like first class, business class vs economy class. The comfort level comes with a price. I think the key is to get ourselves to the business class level financially so we can get the business class treatment everywhere. I am working on it too~ I think spending $5k over a few visits and expect the SA to remember a customer is not too realistic. Buy a set of their sofa and the whole store would know you lol~ 😜
I can't imagine the frustration and stress of going through that. It's really unprofessional how Hermes handled it and when they did not respond to you or notify you of the store closing, it just makes things worse that she kept going on and on about how suffocated she and the staff were in the store that day which is irrelevant to how you were stood up. I don't go to Hermes very much. Probably a few times to buy some small accessories. I also went with my friend 1-2 times who has very good connections w/ SAs there because he is a VIP, so that's a different experience. So many people are going through the Hermes journey and I can't put myself in a place where I have to chase and beg for a bag when SAs are either unresponsive, rude, or play power struggle. I hope you find a good SA.
Sorry to hear about this awful experience. I am really not willing to put up with these shenanigans. We should not be made to feel like beggars when spending large amounts of money. I go resale and pre loved only (mainly Fashionphile and FB group) and have been lucky enough to get what I want at reasonable cost (near retail or less for excellent condition or new items) and excellent customer service, including for bags. I know people complain about Fashionphile sometimes, but I have been buying and selling with them for 7 years and have seldom had any issues. Maybe someday I’ll try going to FSH in Paris, but I refuse to deal with this kind of crap at a local boutique, even though my friend has had great experiences there (she’s even been offered and bought two exotic Birkins and a limited edition Birkin 20 Faubourg, on top of a bunch of other bags). I’m a no BS kind of shopper and I don’t care about shmoozing with a salesperson who may or may not decide they want to “offer” me the chance to spend thousands of dollars. Don’t give up, just find a different way!
I started the journey in 2017 and stopped for 2.5 years! But they still remember me and gave me my quota bag during the pandemic in June 2020! Guess they remember me because I am friendly and chatty and I’m also in a client facing job like the SAs themselves.
Hi Joanne, I find it very surprising that neither your SA1 or SA2 have given you their direct work cell number? Usually, I don't call my SA but rather I text my SA to make my appointment or even ask for a certain item if they have it in stock. TBH my Hubby has a great relationship with his SA. He did not shop with his SA for over a year and the SA still remember him. (He did contact the SA every other months or so...asking for my quota bag last year) I hope you will find a right SA for you soon. I would love to find out what was your concern for your Birkin? Thanks for sharing!
Agree if you want have apt just txt them ask them directly instead of calling store! Hope you find right SA soon and shop with 1 only so they can get your dream bag!
I’m not sure where you are located but where I am, SAs in the store have been directed to give the store # and email only. They used to be able to give out direct numbers but not anymore.
@@luxuryinModeration I’m also the more formal type so if you don’t want to text then I would recommend getting your SA’s email and just saying when you’d like to come into store (give some flexibility around timing) and 3/4 items you have in mind to purchase, so your SA is prepared for when you come in. This seems to have worked for me and my SA as I scored my first quota bag this year after 7 months with them.
Try going with your husband. I'm mostly reserved as well but I always go with my husband and they always remember us. We're not huge spenders either compared to the other local clientele.
I think your experience maybe better if you had make it clear that you want to work with that certain SA continuously going forward. That way you can get the SA's contact and make appointment directly with your SA. If anything changes your SA can txt you right back. Also it helps your SA to remember you too. I feel like the SA2 doesn't even know you want to permanently work with him lol If a SA doesn't response at all, find someone else that clicks with you.
Sorry for your experience, but tbh bags(garden party) dont count towards your profile building. Shoes, very minimal too. You have to shop in higher categories or shop more often like once in 2 months at least in order for SA to remember you and if you are working towards the BKC. Even for my SA in Paris, she told me not to introduce her clients that are not ready to buy RTW or fine jewellery. Especially with bag scarcity during covid, they are more picky with their customers
Have u explicitly mentioned to the SAs u met that you are looking to build a relationship or build your profile? I think these are the magic words. There are many customers who walk into the store and not all want to build a relationship to eventually get quota bags.
Fine jewelry is where it’s at. I love my bracelet and I got a birkin in about 7 mos. agree it is very stressful/nerve-wracking. At least you got one in Paris! I swear i hit every paris boutique multiple times and in the south of france w no offer so be happy you scored! ❤️
I don't understand what's so great about these bags that people put up with treated with such disrespect. Not worth it, many nicer or equally nice bags out there.
building a relationship when they dont give a shit..too bad hermes has this impression..expensive brands are really being picky coz of the fakes plus resellers that sells the product way expensive than original ones.
Too complicated only to get a bag. WTH is "journey" we are talking about here? We have money, we have the right to purchase. I am not gonna spend my time and money only to play this kind of game only for a bag. Being scanned from head to toe, being analyze how much we know the brand and the reason we have to get a bag is just too much.

Amazing! 🎉congrats on your bags. You were able to get an appointment through the online system both times?
@@luxuryinModeration Yes, both appointments online( 2019 & 2021).
@@isabelng7192 waw!!!!!! I heard it is super hard to get even 1 appointment!

Thank you! Yes I've definitely written off that store but hope I will find a nicer store elsewhere 😅

aw, that's so great! I'm so glad you were remembered and was offered a bag!
Showing up to buy a luxury item every three two four months is plenty in my opinion. I go once a year if that.
Thank you for sharing! I’m trying to do that now! 😅
I can't believe Hermes has people playing these games and has people throwing money at them hoping to get "chosen" to spend 10s of thousands more.
couldnt agree more

I’m not a great texter -im pretty formal and “straight to business” type of person, but I’m working on that!😅
