Wow! I struck a nerve. It seems FedEx has a long and wide-reaching history of poor service and Hermes has upset quite a few people, as well. I finally had a chance to read through all the comments (delayed by an art show at school last night then dinner out then early to bed/early to rise and work, work, work). I've responded to a few but will never be able to get through them all. I appreciate every one and feel your pain with the delivery problems you've had. A few people pointed out that my problem is more with FedEx than with Hermes. I definitely have a problem with FedEx but would argue that Hermes hires FedEx so ultimately Hermes is responsible for the service they provide, including shipping and delivery. They should be pressuring FedEx to properly deliver their packages and it should not be the burden of the Hermes customer to do so. Oh, and the unboxing of this package will come (not entirely sure when) but in the meantime my next video is a double Hermes unboxing in collaboration with Dawn Loves Couture so I hope you'll enjoy that. :)
I agree with you. If Hermes wasn't happy with FedEx they would switch to another courier; but they didn't. They had FedEx's back - not yours. So its clear they have no problem with the shotty treatment you received. It was ultimately Hermes' choice to use FedEx despite a history of poor service. On top of that YOU had to pay for the shipping, so why did Hermes feel an obligation to defend the shipping company? Hermes showed their true colours here: they do not care about their customer's experience. But we already knew that because they have a reputation of making it difficult to buy their products.
Fed Ex is horrible. I’ve had the worst experience with them. I would never choose them as a shipping company. Hermes should definitely switch out their shipping service to a more reputable business. Unacceptable.
@@Me-pf9jk FedEx and FedEx Ground are two different services. FedEx is corporate-run top to bottom while FedEx Ground all the delivery routes are owned by independent contractors so the quality of service varies.
I used to work for the post office. So the reason they said it was “delivered” on one day and you actually get it another us bc everyday all delivery workers have to complete a certain number of their deliveries or they get in trouble. So what they do is mark something as delivered so that they complete their required deliveries (even though it’s technically not). Very frustrating I know. Some post offices offer a service where you can use the post office as your delivery place…some do it and some don’t. And no trucks are checked every night to make sure there are no undelivered parcels. But most times the undelivered packages just go back to the facility and the supervisor has to re enter it into the system to be delivered the next day(they get in trouble as well if they don’t get parcels delivered..so they help cover it up’’. To get the company’s attention…(Hermes, Chanel, whomever)….if you bring up the fact that you will be contacting your lawyer to pursue legal action…most times all of a sudden they will resolve the issue lol.
The parcel was delivered to my PO Box at the facility which is where I was to pick it up. It was Broken into at the post office And hidden until my friend who worked there found it in a random shelf. Apparently, the thief figured no one would know Better and it would just be a lost package.
Same thing happened to me and I live in Canada. Ordered from Hermes a couple of months ago and they shipped it by FedEx. Got the “signed” delivery notice. Went outside to my porch and package wasn’t there. Began to panic, so grabbed my coat to search nearby houses and lo & behold my package was sitting on my neighbour’s porch. Not impressed!
I live in Canada too & UPS gouges us by charging additional brokerage fees on top of customs for packages from the States. Its a ridiculous amount that other couriers do not charge. I avoid them like the plague. If an international seller only uses UPS then I won't give them my business.
I live in Houston too and was waiting for a very expensive package to be delivered from FedEx that required a signature. My husband was outside of our home and saw the driver pull up and leave without delivering the package. Turns out, he went to the house across the street thinking it was my house and when they didn't answer the door, he left. It took another day or so to finally get my package. I called FedEx and they were very nonchalant as well. I also had another incident while out of town. I put in a request to hold my delivery, but he actually delivered it. It's been ridiculous.
😩😩😩Several times USPS has said my package was delivered when it was still on the truck until the next day, said it was signed for when I wasn’t home, said I wasn’t home when I was sitting by the window waiting, delivered my Louis Vuitton to a neighbor. USPS is a nightmare!!
Ugh, so sorry you had that experience. As soon as you said FedEx, I knew exactly what was coming. The FedEx driver where I am routinely marks packages as delivered and then they show up a day or two later. It’s so frustrating. I ordered a Bastia from hermes and my package was delayed, it said it was damaged in transit and being sent back, then it said it was being held for inspection, then it said it was delivered, and finally showed up the day after it said it was delivered. It was pristine, no damage at all. I now avoid using FedEx if possible. I think you may be able to have FedEx packages shipped to a FedEx store but I still don’t fully trust that.
Oh yes, my FedEx people do that too .....mark it delivered and it arrives several days later. I've known a couple of FedEx drivers and the problems are systemic in terms of how FedEx hires drivers, pays them, & what is expected of the drivers
I have had awful delivery (or lack of delivery) experiences with USPS, FedEx & UPS. Ppl don't give a shit anymore or take pride in their work. I bet the reply from Hermes was a bot or a cut & paste. A real person probably never even read your email.
A: That scarf is EVERYTHING B: I would never expect that treatment from a brand at that “level” of service C: Henri Bendel would have treated you much better!
Create an account. With an account, both FedEx and UPS offer a chance to change your delivery. You can select a date when you will be home or choose to have packages held at the delivery company’s facility. Sometimes there’s a $5 charge, sometimes not. Also, unfortunately some vendors ship in a way that doesn’t allow for this option, but that’s been pretty rare in my experience.
I have had multiple issues with FedEx. I no longer will order if it has to be delivered by FedEx. I had also had companies who said they were delivering one way, then in the tracking it shows it’s been handed off to another delivery company.
I just had that happen last week. Ordered something with USPS shipping, but once marked shipped it showed "C&A captain shipping". They took 10 whole days to hand it off to USPS, who then took another 4 days to deliver it. It wasn't an expensive item but I was really not happy waiting two solid weeks for a package from a few states away. Fedex also sucks, I always know to expect any Fedex package to be at least 1-3 days late even if I pay extra for 2 day air.
I hear you, it's so infuriating. It's totally random and dependent on the individual driver, and accountability doesn't seem to exist. I know Amazon is in many ways evil, however (my husband used to work there), the reason they implementeded their own courier system was to own the entire logistics chain and prevent this type of thing. It's why drivers are required to photograph proof of delivery on doorsteps. Amazon doesn't have signature requirements yet but when they do, they'll probably design that to be failsafe too. I do not understand why FedEx and UPS don't seem to care. Maybe they believe they have a monopoly. They don't.
I had this happen with UPS. I had ordered an item from Dior and it showed that it was delivered at 11 a.m. and signed by me. Here's the thing, I was at work so I couldn't have signed for it. I contacted Dior and they said I needed to go to the Police and file a report. I called UPS and told them I was on my way to file a report and UPS asked me to wait an hour and I'm like why? Anyway, I go to the Police Department to file a report around 3 p.m. Funny thing as I'm waiting to file a report, I get a Ring notification and see that the UPS driver is delivering my package. Here's my question, was my letting UPS know that I was on my way to file a Police report the cause to have my package delivered? Was the UPS driver just going to keep it? All very strange!
When you contact FedEx and open a case they will look into the driver. Every time you complain they have to reach out to the driver. I imagine if even 3 people in your building complained about this driver, especially if it's the same person, that driver would have to comply with proper delivery procedure.
The situation you described with the package delivery happened to me with Louis Vuitton and UPS. They said it was signed and delivered with no signature image. I was fuming because it was a LV item and a laptop. I was home all day of course. Around 7pm that night, my neighbor three houses down brought over the packages. She said earlier in the day a driver pulled up, threw the packages on the porch and left. She’s an older lady so she didn’t get around to bringing them over until the evening. There have been other Louis Vuitton purchases and about half of the time they asked for signature the other half they just leave the package. It’s so frustrating.
I have all of my packages held at the carriers main distribution location in my town. Love it as I never need to worry about missing a delivery and can pick up at my convenience.
FedEx is the worst. I’ve also experienced similar issues. They say it’s been delivered, but clearly hasn’t (we have cameras). Then we go asking neighbors or think it’s stolen. But in fact they are marking it delivered and actually delivering hours/days later.
I’ve had problems before with companies. I decided to just go ahead and buy a UPS mail box. What I love about it is that my local UPS store signs for my packages and they are kept in a secure place. They care about security. Then when I come to UPS I sign for them and pick them up. Since I have had my UPS address, I have had zero problems. Yes it costs $200 a year but it’s worth it to me. I am really happy with The UPS Store.
FedEx doesn't care about anyone's package. I much prefer UPS! FedEx marks my package as delivered but they don't actually deliver the package until 4 hours later! It's happened to me many times! They are terrible!
In Europe (in case of b2c) the seller has only fulfilled his performance obligation when the goods are handed over to the buyer and the seller is generally liable for loss, damage, etc. (c2c is something else: shipping risk is on the buyer, so insured shipping is a must)
This is absolutely outrageous! A luxury brand can’t call themselves luxury if they don’t provide nothing but exceptional customer case in addition. Good that you wrote back and gave them a piece of your mind. If it had happened to me, I’d pursue this matter further and maybe even take them to court.
Hi Autumn. I had a similar problem with Fed Ex where the notification said the package was delivered and left at my garage. Well, it wasn't delivered and I don't have a garage. I later discovered that Fed Ex will pass off some of their packages to the post office for "the final mile" delivery so, anything that requires a signature is simply "fake" signed by Fed Ex because the post office will only deliver, but will not get a signature because Fed Ex was paid for that premium service, not the post office. So, your package is scanned as delivered because it was "delivered" to the post office hub. And, that's why you get a second delivery notification when it actually arrives at your door. This is also why the package is not delivered to a locker because the post office doesn't have the same access to apartment building mailrooms.
I experience numerous issues with FedEx. Not only have they stolen my packages, deliver to the wrong address, but they are also too lazy to deliver when I set up a particular time frame. FedEx customer sevice is awful and they don't care about being reputable. Hermès does not care to do anything about it unfortunately. Not sure why they can't break contract and assign UPS instead.
FedEx is just impossible. I've had sellers on eBay text me and say, so happy your item has been delivered! and my response is, no, it's not here -- the driver just dumped it in the driveway and left and "signed" for it. I recently ordered jewelry for my daughter's birthday and made special arrangements to have them delivered to a FedEx location since I would be travelling at the expected time of delivery. (a) They "lost" it in Tennessee as it went through customs -- I got an email that it was finally released from customs and it still wasn't moving. I only got them to find the item when I reported it as lost -- and this is after waiting on hold for more than an hour at international rates. (b) After all the effort I put in to have it delivered to a FedEx location where I could pick it up on my return, they still ignored that and delivered it to my house. Fortunately, it arrived when a friend was there and could receive and sign for it. You can try to fix the issues, but they're really bad. And DHL is just as bad, if not worse. USPS is generally much more reliable, and my local letter carrier actually knows his people and puts packages in the right lockers.
My husband had an expensive watch sent to LVMH for cleaning and repairs. It was scheduled to return this past Monday. Hub received notice that it was delivered (I stayed home all day so I could sign for it) but I had to tell him there was no delivery. He calls FedEx. They tell him it was delivered to the hospital two blocks over. This is a common occurrence as the two addresses are alike except for one word in the street name. Now, because this has been a problem in the past we have FedEx and USPS notated in our address...do not deliver to hospital. So I grab my bag and ride over to the hospital, I'm on a first name basis with the guy in receiving (because this is so problematic) but he says it's not there. Meanwhile, hub is on the phone with FedEx, they locate the package and say that the driver realized he took it to the wrong place but instead of driving two blocks to my house he decides to throw it back on the truck and take it back to it's final processing destination 50 miles away. FedEx has now told hub it will be delivered the next day which was Tuesday. Again, I sit at home all day to wait for the delivery and it never shows up. Finally, on the third day the driver came trotting down my driveway and asking how I'm doing today. Rest assured he got an earful. Thankfully the package was just fine. The stress of thinking someone sees LVMH on a package and knowing the package is floating around where it shouldn't be leads your mind to wonder what is truly going on. I've never had a problem with UPS, ever.
I too have had the same problems with FedEx. They always lie about my packages. Sometimes it will say "on the truck for delivery" and then disappear for a week. Sometimes they will say it has been delivered (we have the same locker system) and I never receive it. Then it will magically show up a couple days later after I have been going crazy trying to find it. I have always had Louis Vuitton and MCM delivery it in two days UPS and the driver will personally hand it to me. If I am not home, they will leave and note and come back the next day. They never leave things out unsecured.
wow! scary! you are NOT the only one! I have heard delivery drivers (I don't recall which company) being lazy and not dropping off the package and stating person not home, and packages being left on top of a gate, in a driveway, in a yard vs on the porch! I ALWAYS whenever possible will do a store pickup! Also at Dior 2 people ordered Dior Lady bags and the strap was not included! Dior would not budge and insisted the strap was included (read on purseforum). Also 1 person got a USED dirty bag! How do you prove this?! Insane! It's best to just have it as a store delivery that way you can open the package in front of the SA so you are not blamed or stuck with a faulty item....or...the item never shows up!
I wish the luxury stores would let you change delivery to pick up at FedEx instead of home delivery. They block that option and can’t do it even over the phone. But when you pick up they always check your ID so I don’t know why it’s not allowed. It would make it so much easier for a lot of us.
No warning needed! LOL I will NEVER purchase Hermes. Not because they're not my favorite but because if I ever do, I picture it happening while on a lovely vacation spot window shopping and my husband watching my face light up and then giving me "go get it" nod...yeah... that's how I want Hermes. LOL I do not have any issues with any of my deliveries now BUT back in the day, OMG! I'm so happy that those issues have not risen again. I'm just so HAPPY you got your goodies! ❤️ Roxy
Why are all of these fashion houses doing away with customer service? I really wanted to purchase my first Chanel piece but there is no boutique anywhere close by. So I thought phone order would be the next best thing. This was the response I got when trying to place a phone order through Chanel but first inquired about a product: “Thank you for contacting Chanel Customer Care. Although Chanel Fashion items are not available for purchase online, you can experience the collection by visiting your nearest Chanel Boutique or authorized retail location. In order to be eligible for a phone order, we require clients have a boutique fashion purchase history.“ So I cannot purchase by phone until I purchase from a boutique?!? That’s asinine. I’ll never be tempted to want anything Chanel after that response.
I’ve had issues like this before. Once Neiman Marcus told me they canceled my order but they did not. I told them to make sure it was canceled because I would be away and no one would be home to sign for it. They sent it anyway and it was delivered while I was out of town and left on my stairs for a couple of days. What do you think happened?😒 that was a mess.
It's FedEx, UPS, the Post office. I've not had issues with DHL. There is such pressure on these companies (translation: overworked drivers and underpaid folks slinging packages in a back room somewhere, working through injuries half the time) to deliver now that absolutely everyone is ordering everything from toilet paper to gold bars online. The infrastructure simply is not there. I'm sorry about your experience. Been through similar many times.
I’ve had this with DPD in the uk. Leaving high value things on my open porch that are stolen - I called the local depot and it’s improved - it turned out to be 2 named drivers. Drivers have handheld units and they may be set up that they have to click ‘yes’ to signed/failed delivery
This situation is terrible, and it happened to me once with Louis Vuitton. When I contacted Fed Ex to tell them that they delivered to the wrong address, Fed Ex told me that they sometimes use contract drivers who aren’t employed by Fed Ex directly. They wouldn’t give me an apology for delivering to the wrong house. Fortunately, my neighbor gave me the package, but if it was delivered to another block, it could have been gone.
Totally feel your frustration. Unfortunately I think we're stuck with these issues. The big problem in my area is when UPS transfers the package to USPS for delivery. USPS almost immediately marks it as delivered, but it may be a week before it shows up here. It's also fun when Amazon has photo verification of delivery, but the photo isn't my house!
Similar thing happened to me!! I was at work and have RING. I knew I would have to sign for the package from Hermes. I saw on my Ring while I was at work that Fed Ex also just left it at my door and claimed I signed for it !!! Obviously I didn’t if I was at work. Fed Ex is horrible !!!!! How can such a high end company use them? Awful!!!!!!!
Just saw this video, and I recommend you contact your local fed ex hub and describe the issues and they can find out what driver delivers in your area. It’s what I’ve done when I’ve had issues.
OMG! I just saw this video and I had to write. My problem was Hermes would not let me change location. First, they would not ship to my local Hermes store. I don't know why! My SA just said they don't ship glasses to the store. In the past I could have my FedEx packages delivered to my local FedEX drop off site which is my local Walgreens store located 5 minutes from my house. I called Hermes and they said they don't do that! So, after 3 failed attempts it was sent back and Hermes gave me a refund. I just don't get it! I'm done! The stress was just too much so I will no longer buy Hermes on line if it can't be delivered to the store.
Wow Autumn. What a nightmare. I've never ordered from Hermes and don't live near an Hermes store. I don't recall having that much trouble with FedEx, but I have had weird situations with regular US Postal service where something was supposed to be delivered on Sunday and weren't even though the post office said they were. Then the package showed up on Monday. A couple of months ago an Amazon order never turned up. Called Amazon and they sent another copy of the item. In any case...a delivery nightmare. I'm glad that you've brought up your experience and it'll be interesting to hear what other people have experienced.
This happened to me with Fed Ex this week. I ordered an item from Etsy. They claimed it was delivered and left at locker to a different zip code. My apartment building does not have a locker area. I called Fed Ex and they said that my information does not match the delivery address that was provided and to contact the seller. I tried to email the seller. I thought that I had been scammed. Reached out Etsy to file complaint and request a refund. Then I received it the next day. WTF Fed Ex!
Love your scarf! My Hermès on-line shopping experience was also terrible. First, I didn't see anything on the website that said you had to sign for the delivery. (I believe this has been updated as this was a few years ago.) Once the order failed to be delivered due to no one being home to sign, I moved my item delivery to a day my husband was working from home. He is waiting for the package to sign. I arrived home to see a 2nd failed delivery notice. I had to have my mother-in-law come hang out for a day at my house for my order to arrive. I then placed a 2nd order later and then had it ordered to my job as I can get items delivered there with no issues. My 2nd package that was "signature required" was left outside the door of my company. It was a lipstick order and delivered on a summer day in the middle of the day left outside in the sun! So after those 2 horrible experiences haven't ordered from Hermès since. That is not a luxury experience!
This is what FedEx signatures means. They have 3 different types of signature. Adult signature, in personal signature (the person who the shipping belongs to) and required signature, (which I believe Hermes shipping procedures uses) If you live in a building complex they can just check with the manager who lives in the address and someone else can sign it. I know it is frustrating… I do order online from Hermes and I don’t actually signed but they do check with the manager (or even the locker apartment to see who lives there) and they just dropped it. This is what I know from them.
The same thing happened to my husband in that they said the package was signed by the recipient, it wasn’t, and the package had been opened by said company and the contents were taken out! And they would not file a complaint on themselves or help in any way in getting the items back or reimbursement. I will not use said company. If l was sick and they were the only company delivering the medicine is the only way l would use them. Laziness has taken hold in these companies and many more. It’s not their item or their loss of money so they could care less which is also the problem with the luxury items company you mentioned. Shame on all of them. I am glad you got your merchandise and it sounds like you were very lucky in getting your merchandise. We shouldn’t be afraid to order stuff in thinking we may have to go through the things you have , to get the items. Thank you for sharing this with us!!!!
I worked for LV and we had the same policy on store orders being shipped to another store. We were told that it was a liability issue that if something happens it’s on the store. I always was curious if someone’s bag was sold to another client especially for hard to find items. But that is just my speculation. I also know that LV used to ship with FedEx and went to UPS, but they weren’t perfect. I had one client send me the ring doorbell footage that showed the ups driver just throwing the clients package into the backyard which happened to land on a sprinkler head which was on a timer. I think you know where I’m going with this. And yes, LV had a lot of people that would get the bag and then file disputes so they wouldn’t have to pay, but we delved deep into those types of things for our proof before just shutting a client down as Hermes did to you. That’s so frustrating and disappointing!
Infuriating!!!! Customer service is almost non-existent these days, at so many places. For a store like Hermes to not do their due diligence is unacceptable. Trusting FedEx or any shipper over a customer, without even taking into account everything you showed to them as proof, is incredibly frustrating. And for FedEx to lie about signatures and leave boxes outside a locker is freaking ridiculous! I felt your pain, girl. 😑
Our building has a package room. Amazon showed up without a trolly and didn’t want to carry the packages down the corridor to the package room where it would be signed for and registered. So they don’t the packages all at the beginning of the garage entrance to the building and claimed them all as delivered to the package room. I wasn’t going looking for my packages among the dozens and dozens that lay on the floor including what looked like medication. So I claimed it as undelivered and had them resend. My husband went looking the next day among the remaining packages and couldn’t find.
Here's the thing too- if you DID file a claim with your credit card company then the card company would likely side with you HOWEVER that would GUARANTEED result in you being blacklisted from placing online orders with them going forward. This is absurd.
FedEx is the worst. I’m so sorry that happened to you and the response you got from Hermes is ridiculous. Within the past few years we’ve ordered two iPhones pro max and two iPads pro - the giant ones- in 4 separate orders. All required signatures and all 4 were left at my front door. Luckily I was home each time but they didn’t even knock or ring the doorbell. I’m sure of that as I have 3 special friends who always let me know when someone is at the door. It’s asinine
This was me on Friday! It was with DHL. I ordered an expensive bag, and had it delivered to my mum’s house because like you, I live in an apartment and although they should deliver packages to the Amazon hub, they don’t. They leave in areas away from the one camera we have. I’ve had multiple packages stolen, and have seen boxes torn open! It’s crazy. So DHL said they are going to deliver my package by 4pm. I track them on the map, and they are close to my mum’s house. Problem was it said the truck was near my mum’s house for about 2hours. Then when it neared 4 pm, this dude turned around on the map and heads in the opposite direction to the depot, meanwhile he sends a delivery notification that the package was delivered at 4:16 and signed for! Wait WHAT? I’m sitting at the door waiting for the package, and NOTHING! I was ticked! I then go to the depot to pick up my package. I spoke to one woman who then disappears for over 25 min and then someone else appears, and asks me if I’ve been helped. I said I think so, but she disappeared. The guy then leaves, and comes back with my package. I was ticked! He said I needed to file a complaint about the guy who lied about the delivery, and he was probably a 3rd party driver, not an actual DHL driver. Like a temp! I looked at him, grabbed my package, and walked off. The madness is real. I tried calling in a complaint and that was a crap show too! Bottom line, they don’t care!!!
Fed ex has really been terrible since lockdown. Without fail, if the delivery is in a box (as opposed to one of the sealed envelopes), the package has been opened, sorted through, and most often, items stolen. This ONLY with fedex.
Make a complaint with FedEx for sure, I have had a similar problem and the complaints helped. I have also addressed the drivers directly. They were receptive and now pay better attention to my address :)
Hey Autumn. Interesting video. I had an Abercrombie & Fitch package delivered to a drop-off point (DOP) as I knew I wouldn’t be home). I received a notification from UPS to say my package had arrived at the DOP and was ready to collect. I went to collect it, but the DOP looked thru all the packages and mine wasn’t there. They checked their computer system and showed me no record of the package ever arriving. I left it a couple of days then got another notification from UPS reminding me to collect from the DOP. So back I went to the DOP. They checked their packages again and their computer system - STILL no record of this package ever arriving. I go to the tracking page on UPS’s website and it says the package is out for delivery to the DOP - not that it’s been received by the DOP! The date of this was from about 8 days previous with no further update! The next notification I got was saying the package was being returned to A&F as I hadn’t collected it! THEN A&F charged me £7 for the returning of goods I never even received! Bizarre. I double-checked that I was going to the correct DOP. I just don’t know where that package was.
I went thru an entirely similar situation with a delivery with LV… They came to my house and I was working from home that day.. I have ring doorbell and everything. The driver came to the door and just put a sticker saying that I wasn’t home and they will try to deliver again! He didn’t even bring the package to the door! I WAS HOME. I saw it on my ring! Then they said it was at a storage center, I had to wait 2 days before I was able to go to the center. When I get there they said I waited too long and sent it back! I asked to have it sent back, but the item was now sold out and I couldn’t buy it any longer!!! How? Why can’t you resend this sold out item back to me?!? In the end LV refunded my money. Since then, I just have any LV item sent to the store.
That’s really frustrating. I can’t buy a lot of luxury goods unless they can either ship to store or ship to my PO Box. There’s no one at home to sign for my packages and most of the time I can’t ship to my workplace because I work in different places. And they don’t ship to PO Boxes. I have an Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Neiman Marcus (for Fashionphile) near me and not much else. I want something from Fendi for Versace so I’m considering signing up for street addressing for my Post Office Box. I guess I can’t wait too long or that Fendace piece will sell out. I work in different offices. Because of the pandemic FedEx, UPS, and other delivery companies haven’t required a direct signature. However, our names are in the system for the business. The driver asks for our names and they input it into their handheld device. If a new person accepts a package their name gets input. Then going forward when a driver delivers they ask our first name it pops up, they select it and it’s signed for without actually signing. When we used to sign, those devices are so small I can’t even fit my signature. I end up scribbling something like what your “proof” signature looked like. Sometimes we get packages for the wrong business. They’re down the street. We have to call them back to pick up and deliver to the right address. As far as Hermès is concerned, there’s a signature…blah, blah, blah so they have their proof. It’s not good enough and their response is ridiculous. However I would complain to FedEx and tell them that the driver that delivered your package did not obtain a signature from you. It’s impossible because you were at work. And there are lockers there to secure those packages and yours were not in there. I’m curious as to how UPS and Amazon gets to access the lockers and FedEx doesn’t or is this just a once in a while occurrence. Maybe a locker wasn’t available? So you did contact FedEx in the beginning, but I still think you should contact them again but to complain. Sorry for the rambling. I need to go to bed. It’s 1 am on the west coast.
Yes, sign up for the street address with your PO box! I have ALL my packages delivered that way to my PO box and have had no issues with any of the major carriers: UPS, Fedex, or DHL. When they drop off at the post office they're forced to have a postal worker sign off. Get it, get it! ☺️
I had ordered a Dyson floor lamp that was close to a S1;000. The driver left the box on porch empty and took off.I had it on video. The box did show it was a Dyson product so I guess the driver or whoever couldn’t pass on taking the item. When a replacement came I caught a different driver while delivering and ask why would they deliver an empty flat box and show it as delivered. His response was anything on truck they are deliver no questions. This is crazy and crooked to say the least.Apparently this goes on all the time so be careful.
FedEx is terrible by me- leaving cases of wine which must be signed for by an adult over 21 at the end of my driveway in the street! But the worst was my husband's Benelli shot gun- federally required to be signed for by an over 21 yr old adult with state ID- with stickers all over it stating such- left in plain view on our front porch! No response from FeEx when confronted about it 😮
I can understand your dilemma. That would give me a lot of stress. I think it’s a good idea to get it sent to the store for pickup. For me, I live in a house up in the mountains and they never collect a signature, we’re never home. Since there hasn’t been any problems it never was a concern. But I often wondered if there was a theft of a package what would happen. I’ve had packages never arrive and when I inquire it ends up arriving the next day. That tells me the package was sitting at the ups until they get prompted to deliver it. That’s kind of weird. Ana Luisa sent me a whole new order plus a gift to make up for my package never arriving. I never had a problem with Hermes I think it’s because I’m in a house. Less complications.
I live in a Condo in Canada. FedEx once dropped off the package by throwing it from the moving vechile, in front of our building while it was snowing. The doorman saw that and went out to pick it up. But what if he was doing his round’s instead and missed that? Or wasn’t watching the door exactly like went to the washroom? Would I have received my package? Not a fan of FedEx.
It baffles me that in the US they just leave a package in front of your door? Like wow? In my 15 years of heavy online shopping, it happened only once that the package was left in front of the door. Here, couries always call you, and if you are not at home, they will re-schedule the delivery.
It happened to me a few months back, I had ordered 2 bottles of perfume from Chanel, it was Friday evening , I received notification my package was just delivered, I go downstairs check and the package was not there not in the building lobby nor outside.. I called Chanel right away and explained the situation, thank God Chanel resent the 2 bottles of perfume and it was delivered but I don’t believe the 1st package was ever delivered.
In Australia, AusPost has been are allowed to sign for deliveries since covid became a thing. They also take a photo of the parcel on the doorstep. My daughter gets her parcels delivered to either me or her work address which solves problems of her not being at home. Pre-covid, usually if no-one is home for delivery and signing, AusPost would take deliveries to the nearest Post Office for collection. Glad you got your item.
I don’t know what is going with these designer houses anymore. There is no customer service - it’s all about the money. Also, FedEx has been cutting corners all the way around. Here is my question about ordering from a designer house: Have you ever ordered online from Hermes before? I ask because I wanted to buy my first Chanel piece and there is no Chanel boutique near me so I tried to order online HOWEVER Chanel told me that I would have to FIRST purchase in a boutique before I can order online!!! I was told I need to establish myself as a customer inside a boutique before I can make an online purchase. I cannot wrap my head around that. They lost a new customer and I am disgusted by their policy. That tells me they have enough customers, they need not one more.
It's not just FedEx's delivery people that can be shady. I recently ordered a Loewe bag. FedEx tracking said it was out for delivery in my city and was going to be delivered by end of the day on a Monday. End of the day came and no package. Then tracking said the package was back in New Jersey (where it had been shipped from - I'm in California) and that no delivery date was scheduled. I was suspicious but I waited a couple more days. By Thursday it still hadn't arrived and tracking was still saying it was in NJ. I called FedEx and they assured me everything was ok but they would look into it. Shortly after, tracking was updated to show that it was in CA and would be delivered Friday. Friday I got the package w/ my Loewe bag...plus empty shoeboxes, empty FedEx packages addressed to 2 other people, and a pair of men's Nikes I did not order. I called the phone numbers on the 2 other FedEx boxes. They both ordered sneakers that never arrived. All 3 of our orders were scanned in at the exact same time at the FedEx location in NJ. Someone working at the FedEx hub in NJ is stealing sneakers and hiding the evidence in other people's packages. I reported it to FedEx but they did not seem to care that they have thieves working for them.
I’ve always had issues with fed ex. When I lived in a different state, fedex would not bring packages to my door. They would take it to the local post office, sometimes it would be delivered and some times it would arrive 6 months later and out of season.
60minutes or 20/20 needs to investigate this issue. It happens too frequently for it to be just a few bad employees; it has to be a systemic issue. To quote Shakespeare: "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark!!!"
Ugh this is why I hate hate HATE ordering anything online. So far DHL has proven to be the most reliable shipper for me but few retailers use them so most of the time I get stuck waiting and nervously checking tracking till I have my package in hand. The local USPS hub has been sending my packages off to random states, Fedex is always 1-3 days late even if I pay extra for 2-day air, UPS is _usually_ fine but I've had packages disappear into the ether with them too. Nothing beats just driving to a store and leaving with what I want. LV is the only luxury brand I buy but I will happily drive 3 hours away to the closest boutique rather than trust a flaky shipper to safely deliver a $1000+ package.
I've had a very similar experience. I ordered from a luxury online retailer. The package was sent via UPS and was meant to require signature on delivery. I didn't even get a notification that it was delivered. I discovered that it had been "delivered" when I went to their website to track it. It said something along the lines of "delivered on x day at x time." I too went through having to contact the retailer, and then UPS, only to eventually discover that the driver had left the package on the floor in front of the mailboxes of the apartment block next to mine (they are both part of the same complex and are named something along the line of "X Apartments A" and "X Apartments B." When I complained to UPS, they said that they "no longer do signature on delivery due to COVID," which is utter BS as this was only recent and COVID regulations have been lifted in my country for some time now. The worst part - I was at home at the stated date and time of delivery, but the driver never even bothered to knock on my door to check or even call me to let me know he was dropping off the package. And, since he left it in the wrong block, I had to get building management to let me into the other block so that I could pick up my package.
I had an issue with a driver who wouldn’t put my packages on my porch by the door. After I contacted customer service, as a retaliation, he actually took a photo of a small package at the top of my stairs and then threw it in my front garden. He no longer delivers to my area. Customer service was very understanding.
All the shipping services have problems. I think since COVID the drivers have been delivering without signatures. So requesting one doesn’t matter they drop it off anyway.
FedEx is horrible. They delivered my package to my neighbor and with my neighbor’s signature. Thank God my neighbor was honest and brought my package to me. According to FedEx the package was signed for so it wasn’t their problem. Even though it wasn’t my signature! I cringe when the delivery company is FedEx!!🤬🤬🤬 Thank God you got your package!!
I don’t understand companies which use terrible delivery service. Customer service shouldn’t stop once you pay, the service should continue to the point where you receive the goods. I won’t order from some places as I don’t want the effort of poor delivery and trying to hunt down parcels dropped at houses many roads away
Sorry that happened to you. At least you finally got it. Ordering to the store isnt full proof either. I had ordered a Michelle Watch directly for pickup at Nordstrom. Said it arrived, and literally the whole jewelry department went looking for it when I came to pick up. The one good thing is that they realize there's in house theft and ordered me a new one. So at least its on them. So good call.
I live in a doorman building, which helps. They sign for things and hold them at the front desk for residents. It helps. Can you have things delivered to your office?
If someone is having issues with delivery drivers taking packages , having video footage of the time of the supposed delivery, is the open and shut proof FedEx/UPS/USPS use to rule in your favor during an investigation.
I keep asking our building to put up cameras both for the drivers and for thieves but they still haven't. Also, the apartment right in front of the lockers had a ring doorbell-type camera system on their front door and someone recently demolished it.
@@AutumnBeckman Im so sad to hear this... The last resort would be to provide a time stamp of your work schedule, or receipt of a purchase around the same time elsewhere, etc, proving you could not have signed for the item at the alleged time of delivery. I've had to deal with this many times, but yeah. Having some evidence helps. They do get a lot of scams where clients lie about not receiving, but there's also known cases of drivers purposely stealing packages and keeping them for themselves. Sadly
I’ll be interested to see if anyone comments who works for fedex and what they say. Shipping is a mess right now. While I haven’t had any problems like this, I’ve paid extra for priority mail, 2 day delivery that took twice as long. I’ve had packages not delivered because they required a signature, which there is an office in the complex where I live where packages can be delivered and signed for. And they didn’t go to the office, just left me a note they’d try again the next day and then it would be returned to the shipper. So I used some of my vacation time to stay home the next day and wait for the driver. All in all, I’ve never encountered a problem with the dishonesty that you were dealing with and I’m grateful for that. I think all the drivers in my area are hard working and trying to do their best. But overall like I said earlier, shipping is a mess anymore. I have always preferred shopping in stores but sadly that is becoming harder and harder to do now too with everyone closing. I don’t know the answer.💕
That's the key, at least for me, call the local FedEx office explain the situation providing all your documentation. We were at home on Christmas Eve and a gift was on the truck for delivery. Around 7:00 pm tracking said it had been delivered and it had not. I contacted my local FedEx. Turns out 2 trucks were in the area. One driver was a newbie (the one with our package) and the other driver was a manager. The office contacted the managing driver who then reached out to the newbie ... package was still on newbie's truck. He explained he couldn't locate our home so he just marked it delivered 😡 The managing driver met up with newbie and the package was delivered ... 🎉 whew! Local office kept us in the loop during the ordeal. While it was very frustrating, the gift was to be given to a family member that night and it was a pricey item so we were just thankful it all worked out.
Hi Autumn I’m in the uk and I’ve had items delivered notifications before but they had not been delivered, item came next day. The other day I had a you were out when I was not out I was home, not only that I have a ring doorbell and a camera, no one came to my house, there was no card either. I told the packages company that it was a lie and did they want video proof for the time of day they said they came, of course they didn’t and the item came the next day, I understand sometimes they don’t have time to deliver all the parcels but why lie about it 😳 not long ago I had a delivered item notification but no item, tried the neighbour and the delivery person had opened their door and put my item inside without asking them or leaving me a card to say where it was. These have been different companies, the only companies I’ve not had problems with is Amazon and DPD.
I had that happen to me but slightly different. I think it has to do with Hermes being able to tell your CC company yes she contacted us and we cannot fix it, you guys refund her then they can just file it as damaged goods or shrink. My story is I ordered an Hermes bikini and it was too big I contact them for an exchange they say no just send this one back and order the correct size because by the time we receive your return your size might be gone. Mind you the new bikini in my size was arriving same week so I decided to hold on to it till I decide which fit looks better on me. The smaller size arrives but with no pouch and the bikini is black and seems dusty. It grossed me out, seems like it was worn. So I cancel the refund requested and end up sending the one that looked used back, pouch missing, Also the orange box looked like it had been returned had markings on it and the paper inside was wrinkled. Definitely was returned by someone else. So back it does. A week later I get an email from Hermes that they cannot accept my return as it was used and pouch was missing. I explain that is exactly why I returned the size I prefer and held on to the larger one. They send me the package back. I call and try to explain because emails were getting me nowhere. The girl that answered my call says complain to your Amex. The return was rejected because it was used and parts missing. I said you want me to file a fraud claim? I was confused. SO I file a claim and said received damaged goods merchant will not accept return. Hermes did not contest it and I got my money. My fear was I will be blacklisted because why wouldn't they just get rid of problematic customers. I told them I bought 40K worth of items this year alone, I would not lie about a bikini that is only $500 when some of the boots were 2K and I had no complaints about them. I wish Hermes had better QC when shipping goods out. A friend had shoes rejected as a return they said she wore them, she told them I did not even open the package I ordered 2 sizes and went with the one I had received first which was perfect no need to open the other box that you claim was used. They advised her to go to her CC company as well. Annoying!!! But scary that this is a risk from ordering online being grouped with the masses that. might commit fraud.
The problem is not only with deliveries but in every type of business, since COVID everything has changed, I believe we are customers are paying are good earned money, so we want good customer service, they as business should provided it!
I had the same experience with Fed Ex, and Adidas constantly. Adidas apparently does not make notations about delivery issues with Fed Ex, at one point I had a supervisor from Adidas on 3 way call with Fed Ex. My package was delivered the next day. More recently, Fed Ex marked a package delivered. It wasn’t. Not to my house, and not at that time. Reviewed Video. Adidas would not refund, Fed Ex Claim was denied. It’s ridiculous across the board. Common denominator is FedEx.
So I’ll try to keep this as short as I can. My husband has been with UPS 35 years and also has friends frat work with FedEx. Their policies are basically the same and any missed packages (not showing delivered) on time is a NO NO. This is why they show it delivered at times were it hasn’t made it to the address yet. If it loads to the truck for out for delivery 🚚 it must be delivered. I have this problem with both companies and it’s VERY frustrating! Also they are NOT suppose to sign for packages period. Every issue needs to be reported. Both them signing and you not getting the package on the day it showed it was out for delivery. I find nothing gets done to be honestly. I’m in the woodlands area and it happens to be weekly! So I feel your pain 😡
I had the same problem last week with a package from mercari delivered supposedly by US Mail. It wasn't delivered and mercari refused to give my money back . They issued me a store credit instead. This has happened multiple times in the past with them. It doesn't matter what I say, they just refer to the tracking. I'm so used to their dumbhead response I just went to the bank and filed a dispute claim over the purchase on my card. The bank usually gives me the money back. That's my solution, in addition to deciding I'm not buying from them again. Just go to the bank. Hermes doing this is APPALLING! I hope this story gives them a black eye.
I live in Canada and I have the same problem with FedEx. They hire the laziest people known to man and had so many issues with them that I now call up the retailer and ask the shipping company they use. If it's fedex, I don't continue the purchase or I get the item shipped to store and I pick it up...
I got a PO Box and fedEx just leaves my package there. I get a notice and go pick the package up…. There’s also specific places I’d business that hold your package until you can get there and sign….. Also…. I’m assuming you can’t have your package delivered straight to your place of work…. So sorry for your trouble…. But very happy you got your package safely.
You need to file a complaint about the driver or drivers that service your apartment complex. That is the only way for this to get fixed. It really is not Hermes responsibility IMO
I had a very similar situation. Ordered lipstick from Hermes. Their driver delivered the package to my building but instead of putting it in a postbox he left it on the floor next to my door. Unfortunately by the time I came back from work, someone got to it, ripped it open, took out the contents and threw empty, torn delivery bag into my actual postbox…there was literally nothing I could do as FedEx doesn’t accept responsibility for stolen goods. BTW in the tracking system I found an information that I have signed for the package….I was so gutted that day. Will never buy online from Hermes again!
I experienced the same thing. They don't asked for signature on Hermes packages. All my Hermes orders are just left outside my door. And the horrible thing was, I once returned a Hermes order and someone stolen the item inside the box. Fedex is horrible.
Seems like the complainant is more with FedEx rather than Hermes. Good solution to have future purchases sent to the nearest Hemes store. I had similar issues with USPS.
My understanding is that a lot of the FedEx drivers are contracted instead of being FedEx employees. At my house they drive a uHaul truck instead of a FedEx truck and they’re horrible! I have a gravel driveway and they *always* go too fast and throw the gravel around and drive outside the driveway and ruin my grass. I’ve complained so many times and it amounts to nothing.
It’s because then they delivered it on time. They must get bonuses or something. It happens here in Philly all the time. We’ve also had drivers take the delivery picture and take the package. The. Claim they delivered it and it must have been stolen. Well, it was stolen, by the driver!
Yup. Been through this crap many times and it's the main reason I only order a fraction of what I'd like to buy. I'm not sure signature required works unless the recipients show I.D. at the door otherwise anyone can scribble a signature as you found out.
FedEx is indeed the worst. I have had several similar instances of deliveries not arriving but marked as delivered, but I have a story that tops all of those; My husband and youngest had just left our house and was driving down our street - literally a few feet from our driveway, when a FedEx truck backed out of a neighbors driveway and hit my husbands car. I came out and took picture of the damage, plus pictures of the FedEx truck, where the truck and car were on the street, etc. The FedEx driver apologized and admitted it was his fault, which it was - he backed up quickly and rammed into my husbands car on the street. A few minutes later the drivers supervisor showed up, and they began speaking Russian to each other. A day or two later, we hear from our insurance company… FedEx is claiming it was my husbands fault, that my husband made some crazy maneuver in a different part of the neighborhood, resulting in the damage to his car. Luckily, I had taken all those photos, and also let our insurance company know that our neighbors had security video that would prove what happened. Only then did we prevail. So FedEx will crash into your car, then lie to the insurance company and say you did it! They are a morally contemptible company,
Usually if you have to sign and you are not there they leave a notification at the FedEx shipping store near you. And u go pick it up. Someone signed your name and that is not right Terrible I believe you can call or sign that you will pickup at the FedEx Co near you. Check it out
WAIT!…. You didn’t share what you purchased from Hermes!!!!😩 I have had similar issues with FedEx and UPS….sadly the only thing I have started to do is have the item delivered to an address where I know someone will be home! I have even tried contacting the delivery carrier trying to have a package held at their facility, but they rarely will do that, unless they have tried 2 times to deliver! Nothing is easy…and now I’m old and cranky and it @!$$@$ me off!!! Thanks for sharing your story…now PLEASE share your treasures!!!💖
The double scan for delivered notice they told me might be batch scanned. So did not actually get specifically scanned.
I have always wondered why this was the case. Thank you for shedding light on it!!
The parcel was delivered to my
PO Box at the facility which is where I was to pick it up. It was
Broken into at the post office
And hidden until my friend who worked there found it in a random shelf. Apparently, the thief figured no one would know
Better and it would just be a lost package.
I can say my husband been a driver for over 25 years, he goes above & beyond his customers really like him. Of course there are your bad apples.
@@ThePixievamp I'm glad to hear someone still cares about the service they provide. Its quite rare.

They don't.
I’ve never had problems with UPS. You can see exactly where the pkg is with detailed tracking. Not FedEx.
Hope they get fired
The situation you described with the package delivery happened to me with Louis Vuitton and UPS. They said it was signed and delivered with no signature image. I was fuming because it was a LV item and a laptop. I was home all day of course. Around 7pm that night, my neighbor three houses down brought over the packages. She said earlier in the day a driver pulled up, threw the packages on the porch and left. She’s an older lady so she didn’t get around to bringing them over until the evening. There have been other Louis Vuitton purchases and about half of the time they asked for signature the other half they just leave the package. It’s so frustrating.
Shout out to little old ladies. I am one of them and I receive peoples packages all of the time.
You can also have it delivered to a FedEx store and then pick it up there. I do this frequently.
In Europe (in case of b2c) the seller has only fulfilled his performance obligation when the goods are handed over to the buyer and the seller is generally liable for loss, damage, etc.
(c2c is something else: shipping risk is on the buyer, so insured shipping is a must)
I’m always nervous about delivery, so I always pick up my items from the store. I’m happy you received your packages.
LOL
I do not have any issues with any of my deliveries now BUT back in the day, OMG!
This was the response I got when trying to place a phone order through Chanel but first inquired about a product:
“Thank you for contacting Chanel Customer Care.
Although Chanel Fashion items are not available for purchase online, you can experience the collection by visiting your nearest Chanel Boutique or authorized retail location. In order to be eligible for a phone order, we require clients have a boutique fashion purchase history.“
So I cannot purchase by phone until I purchase from a boutique?!?
Why order again from a company that sides with the courier without proof? They don't deserve your custom.
Totally feel your frustration. Unfortunately I think we're stuck with these issues. The big problem in my area is when UPS transfers the package to USPS for delivery. USPS almost immediately marks it as delivered, but it may be a week before it shows up here. It's also fun when Amazon has photo verification of delivery, but the photo isn't my house!
it happened to me once. It shows my neighbor's porch, so I went there to pick it up. 😅
Thank you re: the scarf. :)
This is what FedEx signatures means.
They have 3 different types of signature. Adult signature, in personal signature (the person who the shipping belongs to) and required signature, (which I believe Hermes shipping procedures uses)
If you live in a building complex they can just check with the manager who lives in the address and someone else can sign it.
Yes I have an ongoing problem with FEDEX right now concerning this very situation .It is infuriating, I despise FedEx.
Wow. That's terrible!
Hermes gave you a proper response. They even said that they will work with your cc company. This is all fed ex’s fault.
Here is my question about ordering from a designer house:
Have you ever ordered online from Hermes before?
I have had similar problems, I know how you must have felt. Shocked at Hermes response. Like your scarf and how you tied it.
Thank you. :)
Wow😮
I live in a doorman building, which helps. They sign for things and hold them at the front desk for residents. It helps. Can you have things delivered to your office?
As they have that Amazon locker thing that shouldn't be necessary. And around Black Friday they might run out of space :-o
FedEx is indeed the worst. I have had several similar instances of deliveries not arriving but marked as delivered, but I have a story that tops all of those;
My husband and youngest had just left our house and was driving down our street - literally a few feet from our driveway, when a FedEx truck backed out of a neighbors driveway and hit my husbands car.
They are a morally contemptible company,
Please let us know if and when you find answers, please. Thanks, Autumn!
Usually if you have to sign and you are not there they leave a notification at the FedEx shipping store near you. And u go pick it up.
Someone signed your name and that is not right
Terrible
I believe you can call or sign that you will pickup at the FedEx Co near you.
