    All colors are so beautiful..the fugitive versions too. Unless aiming to sell one's originals, it hardly matters if paints are fugitive or not..thanks for the video..

      and thank YOU for watching and commenting :D i completely agree with you in regards to using fugitive pigments. and i'd like to add that even when selling art, it's still okay to use fugitive pigments if it's part of your unique palette. the seller just needs to let the buyer be aware how the colours on the painting may change over time :)

      @@PaintinHiding Thank you, I did! I do have a question for you. Did you find there was a quality difference between their tube paints and their pan paints, or were they comparable? I have been thinking about investing in tubes in the future.

    • @PaintinHiding
      @PaintinHiding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jengoodwyn2715 quality-wise i think the pans and tubes are equivalent. howeverrrrr, i personally prefer the pans because i have trouble painting with the tubes. here’s why… i don’t mind that the tube paints don’t dry or harden because i know they contain honey, but whenever i go to pick up some paint with my brush, sometimes a chunk of paint comes with it and that messes up my painting flow. not ALL of the tubes paints are like this, i’ve had a few that were fine but generally that’s my issue. (stiffer synthetic round brushes do this a lot but it still happens with my other softer squirrel hair brushes as well). so if you’re the kind of person who thoroughly lathers their paint prior to painting, then you won’t have an issue with getting tube paints. go for it :) but if ur like me where i tend to grab paint and go straight to paper, you might not like it. hope that helps!

    That's a great selection of colors. I particularly like the look of the PG8.

      thank you :D seems many people don't use the PG8 just because they think it's fugitive.

      @@PaintinHiding no no! At the very end of your video, there is a question in small print:. "could you relate with needing to hide art from your loved ones?".
      Yes I can relate! I art journal, which makes no sense to most people that don't. The one time I did show it, there was this shoulder shrug and a "what is it supposed to be?" question.
      I thought that is what you meant about hiding art from my loved ones!

    Oh I love that deep russian green by WN, completely forgot about that colour 😁. Their Sap green also looks more like sap unlike the Sonnet version. And I have their Venice purple in my palette, always)) I also have their carmine, the old version that one, and I love the colour, not sure about the pigment tho.. I`ll check your lightfast test video. Great palette, thank you!

    • @PaintinHiding
      @PaintinHiding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you're welcome! and i love it too! i use it as a sap green since the sonnet sap green is waaaaayyy too bright, lol. yeah i think their carmine pigment keeps changing. hope u find the lightfast vid helpful! feel free to let me know if you have any questions :)

    • @LowKey_izildura
      @LowKey_izildura 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PaintinHiding I think you`re right, I wouldn`t risk using that carmine now.
      You are so kind to say that, actually I wonder if you also find that green kinda sedimenting? But in a good way (ulike their prussian blue sand like texture) I wouldn`t call it granulation, but I enjoy it in heavy flow mixes. I bought another one but haven`t checked it yet, I still haven`t used up the one on my palette. Haven`t find an issue with lightfastness of pg8 ether, what`s your experience? It`s nothing of a pressing matter, but thank you ))

    • @PaintinHiding
      @PaintinHiding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LowKey_izildura yes! i know exactly what you mean~ mine is also “sedimenting” too. i personally don’t mind it. i just gives me unexpected texture which is okay with me :) and i also haven’t had any lightfast issues with PG8.

    you mentioned Madder Lake as fugitive. I just bought White Nights Madder Lake Red Light(PR187) ;( Do you know is that kinda fugitive as well? Handprint does not have this pigment info.

    • @PaintinHiding
      @PaintinHiding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      unfortunately, i dont have any PR187. it seems to be lightfast though. here’s a link for reference… www.artiscreation.com/red.html#PR187
      schmincke and turner watercolours both have colours made with PR187. maybe someone on the internet has made swatch comparisons :)
