    SOlid phone overall since 2018, but the USB-C cable has seen some wear and tear, and sometimes the phone does not charge (quick charge), or does not charge at all; without disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.
    Aside from that, the software is fine, and the build quality is TERRIFIC

    • @susrev88

      my cable is still fine after 4 years and i didn't give a sh1t about looking after the phone. my cable is actually thick so much that it always annoyed me. phone is solid, survived everything. battery is still performing. my only problem is that the middle of the touch screen is sometimes unresponsive. only expereinced lagging only some months ago. now i retired my phone, even though it's still functional. i want something smaller with better camera.

    This is really nice mobile. I am using it since 2018. It still looks new. Functioning the same way as it was on day one. Very good looking device. Most important thing is that you can easily replace the screen if it breaks at the cost of Rs 1500/- in India.

  • @falscherbruce5522
    @falscherbruce5522 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Still use it. The Nokia 2.1 (same screen) had bigger bezels, and only 1 GiB RAM. The 8 Sirocco (also same size screen) had stupid round edges, wasn't worth the extra money. You can still buy 6.1 cheaply from clearance dealers. Only downsides - no more updates, and the USB-C port, which has to be treated gently as Nokia used crap parts.

      @@luminairist I have one and it's not by any means. First of all the USB and headphone jack have the durability of a paper airplane as expected of a recent Nokia phone. The 32GB/SD630/3GB RAM combination is very underpowered for 2021, the cameras are blurry and awful on low-light performance. The screen I believe still holds up quite nicely and stock android is definitely a plus for me, I also like the aluminum build even if it looks outdated these days.

    • @luminairist
      @luminairist 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Generationalwealth94My experience with usb and audio port is fantastic no problem at all using it since 2018, but I have heard that many people had faced tht problem and you are one of them, camera sucked after android 9 update but later with android 10 it got better. It sucks in low light but in this price range back in 2018 it did good even when every other phone was getting dual cameras. Yes its underpowered for 2021 but still its a great device, battery is still doing well, over all the phone is precisely made, built quality is great, ceramic finger print sensor , dual tone flash , dedicated mic, type c port fast charging all that combined made this mid Range a mediocre flagship. and Chrome trimings are a plus point till this date. over all the design is cool. Its a nokia and it feels like a Nokia.

      @@luminairist It was a very medíocre flagship but I get you. Kinda sucks that all we get these days in the mid-range are plastic phones when this 6.1 had an aluminum build which feels very sturdy. Gonna upgrade to a Galaxy A52 4G or a Pixel 4A in two weeks tho I hope, its gonna be wild. This Nokia 6.1 has served me relatively well in the meantime.

    This is my daily driver.
    Screen has popped out in the middle, but the class still intact and no anomalies in the display and digitiser.
    The lettering has been out too, but that's little to no issue. And all around usage, and fall marks.
    The USB C port has no problems so far, I used the otg capability quite often.
    The camera is noisy on low light conditions, it can image Jupiter, but it's a bright speck among the noise, it transforms however with enough light given. Nothing exceptional about video; 1080p yes and stabilized, 4K yes not stabilized, slow motion yes 480p and 120fps, time lapse yes, I would wanted more options for the manual mode; I blame the standard app for this.
    Sound good, the single speaker has enough volume, and enough clarity, I like it nevertheless, as I do the jack.
    The scanner about 75% detects correctly, but it quickly responds.
    The phone doesn't bog down, as much you would expect, but when it does, it recovers quickly.
    Overall a very good device to own and operate, and still stands in the challenges of 2021, and beyond I would say.
    Edit: the screen has popped out in the middle because of swollen battery, which got replaced.
    Easy task: just unglue the screen, and unscrew 22 Phillips screws. Long nails and guitar picks help.
    Update: sailing on to 5th year of ownership. On its second battery replacement, and couple replaced screens. It didn't slowed down yet, but it doesn't receive updates anymore. Eh...
    Update 31/3/2024: I'm ready to replace the battery once more. I'm using sellotape to hold the screen assembly in place. Still snappy as day one, but the software bloat starts to take it's toll, the battery's condition doesn't make things any better.
    Update 18/1/2025: it finally decided to retire itself on 15/1/2025. I might investigate if I can resurrect it for backup duties, since I ordered a Sony Xperia 10 mk6 as a replacement. HMD global Skyline looked sweet... But the lack of 3,5mm jack ruined the deal for me.
    Final verdict: 100% recommended. Buy the top line version if you don't mind the lack of software support.

      works good, but battery drains fast and when you run the game and charge at the same time then prepare that your phone will get pretty hot (basically the whole body works like a heatsink)
