As a cancer survivor, best of luck to you man. Chemo kicked my butt and I couldn't even get out of bed at times. The fact that you are still up and doing things, good on you man.
my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 12 years ago. They did chemo and gave her 6 months to live. 12 years later and she is still going strong. It wasnt so much the treatments as it was the attitude and mindset that kept her positive and exercising through the toughest times. Positive energy, and love from Cape Town SA.
I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma 2 years ago. My right kidney was almost the size of a yellow squash and I had to have emergency surgery. Fortunately, it didn't spread that much, but it did spread to a couple spots in my lungs and ribs. The medication I'm on is called cabozantinib, it's not exactly chemo but it does have some side effects (although not as much). It prevents new small blood vessels from growing, which does have side effects of severely reduced energy, slower wound healing, etc, but it disproportionally affects cancer cells. The only symptoms I had leading up to it were fever, cough, and acid reflux...my doctor thought it was covid until every test came back negative, and they did a CT to find out what it was. I really should've died, somehow didn't...only because I was in very good health right before. I only recovered to maybe 60% of where I was, and I look and feel 20 years older overnight. They did a bunch of tests and it's genetic, I've been a ticking time bomb all my life. I have a mutation that causes both leiomyoma (benign arm bumps - which my mother and grandfather also had), and kidney cancer. It's pretty much 100% and usually happens in your 20's or 30's. I lasted until 49...51 now. This will eventually be terminal, but there's no way to tell how much time I have left. I went from looking and feeling 30, to looking and feeling my age overnight.
I couldn’t help but remember a line from the very first video I saw on this channel. Referring to a board repair: "This is not pretty, but it doesn’t need to be, just like my haircut." Steve, your haircut was never pretty, balding isn’t necessarily better, but it represents something much more important for all of us: your fight against this cancer. We are all here waiting to celebrate together your imminent victory!

Hi Steve! First off I just wanted to let you know, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Secondly, I want to thank you for inspiring me to be brave enough to attempt soldering, specifically electronics, for the first time in my life. I have watched many of your videos and some multiple times. I truly learned by watching. My first project was just last night and it was a clock battery on my Sega Dreamcast sports edition. I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but I'm glad to see you are not letting it stop you from doing what you love. My wife is a cancer survivor as well. She had Thyroid cancer. Had to have the Thyroid completely removed. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Nothing but respect for you and all you do! My wife is a cancer survivor. Wishing you and your family hope, happiness, and good health in the future! You are a trooper! I love watching your videos!
I know breathing any kind of chemicals is not good for someone going through treatment, but if you have someone willing to wear a rebreather and give the metal interior plates a few coats of a rust proofing coating, or even a powder coating. You'd only need a small oven for parts like that to cure, and it would make it so it would last for ages. Could also help with removing an element for the board to short off of, not that I think that occurs often, but a nice touch either way. I really enjoy the way you lay out the process for folks wanting to learn too. Keep up the great work 🤘
I'm currently going through cancer treatment for a GIST tumor. Your videos help me get through my treatments, as I guess making them helps you. Stay strong, we're with you.
I been watching your videos for a few months now and your tool battery video really inspired me to get into this field because battery technology is here and I believe people are going to have the need for battery repair anyways your an inspiration and the world needs more people like you wish the best on your recovery and please do more tool repair videos
I have T-cell Lymphoma for the 3rd time and the first time I received about 16 hours of chemo over the course of 3 days every 21 days and during that time I received “the red devil” or doxorubicin and that made me bald instantly haha chemo sucks everything you love tastes awful and you feel strange for about a couple weeks. I’m going to get stem cell therapy to hopefully cure me. Seeing you continuing your videos makes me happy man! Good luck and hope everything works from a fellow lymphoma man! If the reader is curious I am 32 with two boys and fiancé! You got this man! Bald is beautiful 💅🏼
My mother is a cancer survivor and I was beside her the whole treatment, driving her to every chemotherapy session. I remembered this time in your introduction, all the best for you man, I know you'll beat this!
Dude, hope you're hanging in there strong! I had chemo as well. It isn't too bad at first, but the longer you have it, the more challenging it is. The worst part for me was what it does to your taste buds! Things just won't taste right, and you may start craving things you don't normally eat. Thankfully, it eventually goes back to normal. My hair never fully returned. Keep strong! It can't beat you!
YES, my taste buds are totally screwed up! It does get more difficult the longer it goes. The first three treatments weren't too bad, the last three were much more difficult. Glad you made it through!

Sending good vibes your way my man. I've lost a lot of people to cancer, so I'm very sympathetic to your situation, and I wish you nothing but the best through all of this. I wish I could do something more but I'll do the only thing I can and send prayers and hope for you and yours.
Stay positive!!! Don't give up!!! That's what will help tremendously in getting you through this rough spot in the road!!!
I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but I'm glad to see you are not letting it stop you from doing what you love. My wife is a cancer survivor as well. She had Thyroid cancer. Had to have the Thyroid completely removed. Wish you a speedy recovery.
Sorry to hear. Please take care of yourself.
Nothing but respect for you and all you do! My wife is a cancer survivor. Wishing you and your family hope, happiness, and good health in the future! You are a trooper! I love watching your videos!
Man cancer sucks, praying for a speedy recovery.
Keep up the great work 🤘
My father has been fighting Multiple Myeloma for over a year. My prayers go out to you and your family. Stay positive and keep fighting! You got this.
Also a lymphoma survivor, been 12 years now. All the best mate, love your videos!

Respect to you for still being so lively and continuing your make videos. Hope for quick recovery enjoyed the vid as always.
You're an inspiration for me and many others. Wishing you and Tronics wife the best during this difficult time. You'll beat this!!!
Hey Steve, just wanna say stay strong. You got this! You have quite the following behind you, and we are ready to support you!
Your channel has taught me a lot and gave me a new career. I wish you a speedy recovery brother.
Love and respect your transparency. My wife beat breast cancer last year. I am praying for a speedy recovery brother. I love your videos and your work.
