1080p is an awesome resolution… in 2013.
This will be the norm in a short period of time. I see this technology going mainstream soon.
Oh it's so awesome. I used to hate having to go to the laundromat, now landry day is my favorite day of the week. I usually just chill on the bench playing BG3 or Jedi Survivor. My setup is a ROG Ally, Xreal Air glasses, Viture charging adapter (when I need to charge and play at the same time) and an Xbox controller.
I plan on setting my router up to port forward so I can remote play my PS5 from anywhere as well.
I give it a year or two, and then we will likely see decent AR glasses like these going for under $200.
Real soon..
@@randyhostetter123I have a very similar setup but my powerbank is anker 737 it gives the Ally 3 hours on turbo 7 hours on performance mode
Thank you so much ive been debating doing that exact setup for months now since the rog came out @randyhostetter123
$800? Nah, I'm good
@@blazing_pyro67 And they are not $800, around $550 for PS setup
Been done before search glyph or headphones and screen on your face they are 720p and 1080p also I bought one and it's super cool for 150.00.
They will go in vault, inside a case with in a case the box they came in another case
😢
It may be cool if 4K oled 144hz
1080p is a great resolution… in 2013.
It’s still great in 2023
@@allie12212not for PS5 games
@@corgicakes5629 then y’all are just snobs… I still play the old nes and super nes games and very happy
I bet you couldn't tell the difference between 4k and 1080p screen on a small screen
The price is outrageous. I am sure it is a great product, but not in my budget.
Funny because they’re actually trying to charge you like you were buying a 120” tv but you’re only getting glasses for (1) person. 🎉😂
Pretty cool if you don't have room for the big TV. They have some small rooms for rent out there. The architecture is Interesting. Check out tiny japan appartments. At a hundred a month you could afford something like these glasses. No room for stuff though.
Well of course they're expensive, tech is packed into a small space and is able to replace a TV. This can go everywhere, whereas your TV cannot.
Current quoted price is 800dollars. What would the ideal price be as per you fo this?...when this 1st appeared on kickstarter the then quoted selling price was 600dollars...which has changed to 800 now. What do u think would be a fair price for it for a consumer?
Great idea for people with mobility disabilities, but i'd be more interested if they beamed 4K.
With picture so close to your eyes you wouldn't be able to tell difference, 4K would be useless in this case and would hinder the performance.
@@sayinglikeitis3263first people say sitting far away from the TV, you can't tell any difference, now you say it's too close to notice the difference. Me who's played 4k on big monitors and small handhelds, you can absolutely tell the difference
@@sayinglikeitis3263actually you notice pixels more when they are shoved in your face
@@sayinglikeitis3263 With respect, you have that backwards.
People complaining of the price, remember this is just starting up. They will hopefully make better iterations in the future. Definitely something to keep your eye on👌
Also, a lot of people are seeing the $800 price and not keeping in mind that that is for the bundle that includes the glasses, the neckband assessory, AND the dock accessory. The glasses on their own aren't that bad of a buy, as long as you have a compatible device. Then if they really want the features that the accessories can provide, they can always pick them up later on.
I wouldnt quite call this a review, but it was a pretty good ad for them.
😊 I remember when I saw this on Kickstartert a year ago. This $800 bundle was 600
You have the voice and mannerisms of a comedian. PLEASE do some outrageous parody versions of videos like this 🤣
Would buy these if they were 4k
apple are making something similar for 4k ($3500)
@S7eventhHeaven those are something different tho
@@jcZo23 not really. Just a TV you wear on your face for 4 times more money with less battery life and an apple logo on it. A product for the CNT generation
@@S7eventhHeaven these rnt a Crapple product
I just bought a 4K mini LED 55 inch t.v for less than these glasses, but maybe when these things become more refined and less expensive I'll check them out. 😎
This stuff was out in the 90s and it was totally exhausting on the eyes.
There was dizziness and extreme eye strain.
How could that have been solved?
In 30 years? Hmmm...
For the price of this I'd rather just get a VR set
My thoughts exactly If I'm gonna put a PS5 on my face
I hear this a lot, as an early VR adopter "htc vive OG" and now Reverb g2, I would say you shouldn't be comparing these two "different" technologies. The main reason (I think) to buy these glasses would be to lay flat in bed and watch a movie or play games. VR is something where you would solely play games (in my personal experience for work it isn't ideal being a programmer). And in VR you probably move around a lot. So different techs different use cases, and both hell lot expensive... I mainly bought the Viture to use with my Steam Deck. I am skeptical about the screen size so if I don't like it I will just use the 30 day return policy. And perhaps try a different brand.
@@renstillmann I'm just saying for the price even though they're different, the VR also allows you to watch movies on a 100" plus screen. I'm just thinking practical wise.
@@donnelmoss757 I totally get that, and if you don't own a VR headset yet then I would definitely recommend anyone to buy a VR headset instead of some AR/XR glasses. The only thing I hate about the Reverb G2 is that the tracking isn't that great. But the good thing is that you don't require base stations like htc does. Other than that I think it is the best one for sharp video quality. Unless the tech is improved a lot I won't be upgrading from the Reverb G2 anytime soon. It's really good. I have it roughly since release date. I only use it for simracing though. But for games like Beatsaber it isn't great (on medium difficulty or higher) because when doing quick movements the tracking gets lost...
@@renstillmannu sir make a lot of sense they are different 👍
I do have 1 concern is this thing safe for prolonged use considering just how close it is to a person's eyes, after all doctors are always warning us NOT to sit too close too TV screens after all..I just don't want someone to accidently suffer some kind of really bad eye problems if it can be avoided as all. It's a health concern nothing more, I'm just concerned for everyone's eye health ..Maybe I'm too nice or paranoid? A price tag listing of the glasses would also be welcomed.
Need to be 4k with bigger 150-200” screen same distance from face for $500-$600
This is pretty dope. If it were at like $500 I'd get it. $800 is rough right now. But I see this in a couple years and better tech making it $500
This is great for those smaller househopds that have multiple people but not enough tvs
I finally bought me the cloud package with the promo code which saved me $70. I can't wait to test these glasses out
Absolutely DOPE. Now the free market needs to do its thing and make these affordable to the mainstream.
Yep
That will great with the Woojar vest, video games movies, music videos. And now kid don’t have to ask are we’re there yet. I’m with it this Christmas 🎄
$200 maxxxx and im sold!! For EVERYTHING that is!
Do you still have a flip phone??
I’ll just wait until they come up with VR retinal implants
Don't sit too close to the tv, proceeds to put tv on eyeballs
Eventually you will get stick drift in your eyes haha
So I actually own a pair and I was an early Kickstarter backer however, my issue with them is that I have to make the virtual screen much smaller than it’s higher end in order to be able to have minimal blur around the edges.. but having a smaller screen kinda defeats the purpose. I think maybe my eyes just aren’t very compatible with it.
What is your IPD?
Answer his question please we need to know
I had blur around the edges but that was caused from how it was sitting on my nose. By using another nose piece I was able to see the screen completely.
great review, definitely will have to get the bundle
Facts
Excited, Just getting into all things PS5 etc. Played a friends PS, really enjoyed it. Holding out for the Slim! These new glasses are going to be great. I would imagine some TV sales are going to be lost due to this product.
Jimmy TY! Great video, greatly enjoy following up for your updates and things to come!!
Slim versions in the past have been downgrades in one way or another. Slim ps4 bad.
@@Jaceftp How was the slimmed down PS4 bad? If I recall, the Slim and the Launch PS4 both used much of the same hardware (cpu, GPU, etc), and the networking interface was actually upgraded in the Slim. The only semi-viable complaint I can see with the PS4 slim was that the pro was released pretty soon afterwards, so people were bummed that they didn't just wait for the Pro...but the evidence was pretty clear that a Pro was going to be released soon, so that's really on the buyers, not the console itself.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember any downgrades between the OG PS4 to the Slimmed down one. And didn't the DualShock4 receive a minor upgrade when Sony switched to the slim? I love my PS4 slim and I still use it all the time connected to my bedroom TV...mainly just to stream shows to fall asleep to, but occasionally to play games (both natively and to remote play my PS5).
The PS5 is almost ridiculously huge in my opinion, and would love it if it was only about 80% as big as it was. So if I personally was looking to buy a PS5, and the slim was expected by the end of the year, I'd likely wait as well.
@KVAR42...Just know that it is almost certain that the PS5 slim won't come with an optical drive. So if you plan/want to ever use physical discs, then you need to also buy the external optical drive...which to me defeats the whole purpose of getting a slimmed down system. So if you still use DVDs/Blu-rays and/or have a bunch of physical PS4 games that you may play, then waiting for the PS5 slim likely isn't a good plan. You'll likely be taking up more space if you have to have the PS5 slim AND the external optical drive, than just the normal PS5 (the model with a built-in optical drive)
Hi sorry to bother you, do you still use Psvr2, and what do you think
I do and it’s awesome
Awesome concept and idea but definitely for a certain audience at that price point, but hopefully this technology catches on for people with disabilities and such and eventually the price goes down so they can afford it.
I don't understand the disability statement, you can easily watch your TV if you can use the glasses
i see a world of possibilities and possible improvements to the overall design. This was a wonderful review for sure but i really hope their next model maks serious improvement on wireless connections
Eh. Wireless will still be a few years out. We still aren't there for GOOD wireless AR to be affordable and in such a small package, just ask any of the ppl who are big into VR. 90+% of them will all recommend wired VR headsets vs wireless. The lag of AAA games on wireless sets is worse that the positive that the freedom of them gives. But that is why I like the idea of Viture's neckband...It's not perfect, but it will lead to future products getting better and better.
If the current trend of AR glasses and VR headsets continues, hopefully it will only be 3 or 4 more years for the wireless tech to really catch up.
@@randyhostetter123 I'm totally on the same page we've come a long way since Google cardboard lol... I like the added functionality the neckband offers and I hope there's enough early adopters to allow for growth and improvements. I'd love to use a set if only to color correct my vision during work/school projects
@@Kosmos2080 Yeah, I wish I would have held out for the Viture glasses when I bought my AR glasses. At the time Xreal Airs were readily available and the US release for the Viture Ones was still TBD, so I pulled the trigger on the Xreals.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Xreals (it's awesome playing at the Laundromat and during flights), but I feel that the Viture accessories are just top notch (not to mention the specs of the glasses themselves are a bit better too...at least on paper). Maybe in the future I'll consider getting the next version of Viture's glasses and sell/gift away my Xreals. But who knows, maybe Xreal will step up their game in 2024 (though I've been hearing more negative than positives on their BEAM accessory, so it is a little worrying in that regard).
@@Kosmos2080 Exactly, I have a Oculus which is fine so I'll wait 2-3 years to see how this technology evolves.
@@Kanoog I swear man Google had the right idea with glass but no one can find a way to pack a full multimedia experience on such a small frame
£582 at today's exchange rate with a shipped in 2 weeks timescale.. the price and delivery times need to drop drastically before it even becomes a plausible option as the psvr2 is superior and cheaper. Yes this works with other platforms, but this is a Playstation user stream so most of us are PSN and not all the others.
Around £430 for PS remote play after discount as you will only need glasses and neckband

I might see myself to a pair of these for my birthday and hope that they sell enough to make a generation 2 because you know the next-gen is going to be 4K at least... Viture 2 Ultra 8k 😁

I like the fact that it could work for the switch as well but as cool as they are I don’t know about them especially just under $800
How’s the lag on this ?
At last! After years of living in your room, you can finally leave to experience the world. Visit the Grand Canyon and watch Godzilla vs. Kong, ( whenever version you wish, pick one ) this way, the epic fight looks like it really did some damage. Immerse yourself like never before and play Grand Theft Auto while on the road and raise your wanted level. ( please don’t ) With the newest add on, you can now continue the fun while you sleep, get yours today. All jokes aside, this still looks nice but after a while those glasses are going to dig into your ears. Other headsets look like they would feel better but thats an easy to fix problem, my big issue would be the wires. It’s interesting seeing how technology is changing
So if my ps5 is at home i can use the glasses in a public place with no tvs nothing hooked to it? Does my ps5 at home need to be kept on?
I don't think so maybe sleep mode. but u can play ur ps5 on ur phone right now if u have the game downloaded
Put a camera on there like Ray-Bans and I'm sold
I entered the video to see the difference between the true review, like the one Linus and Luke did, and the paid review that only highlights the pros of the product "in a perfect world scenario", and never mentions the cons at all 😤
We were told don't sit close to the tv soooooo lol
Can you use the virtual reality games in the glasses and use the move controllers as well? I’m super curious if you can test that out cos I want to play games at work n wanna know what options I have I want to play vr on iPad Pro but dunno what gadgets I can use on my iPad Pro
Idk. What turns me off is on some content, the screen moves along with you and not in AR space so it can get a little nauseating. It's very cool but of course, not perfect.
how do you play the games if you dont have a controller to work the game can you use your own eyes to control games but how would you move and all that stuff?
Bring my PS5 to work, pull it out in the breakroom, plug it in, and put on the glasses to game.
you paased up the chance to put the glasses on the camera, so we can get an idea what it looks like through the glasses lense
I got a pair and will give them a try, they look more comfortable than a PSVR2 for long term use and can use my iphone on it. Excited to get them.
Screen much smaller! Ps vrr2 had much larger Screen but other Problems😅
How you getting on with them
Looks fantastic, i can see myself owning one of these
questions: 1. Battery life? 2. How to get a replacement battery after 2-3 years of use? 3. If you're gonna spend 700usd for a lightweight monitor, how's the warranty for people abroad?
This is a great idea
U save so much money on not buying a 4K 120hz tv!
As long as it can connect to a ps5 this is golden!!!
his eyes look fried lol
Might have to get these around the holidays
It's like in the Simpsons. That Homer got from his boss, Mr Burns.
Have they figured out the problem with eye strain. Your brain may think you have depth. However your eyes are only focusing a few inches in front of your face. This is why most people can only play for a couple of hours with vr 🤔😳😱😭💀
Surely the 1080 does not look HD though right? Because even the PSVR2 in movie watching mode does not approach HD quality even though the headset screens are 2000 X 2040 per eye. It’s still has considerable aberrations.
You lost at 1080p instead of 4K ➕️
Does the battery life match the price?
5G strait to the eyes ,brain and wrapped right around your neck.Super healthy 👍
Hard pass I'd rather wear my Oakley 's and use my big screen, $800 is insane
It would be Kool if you and someone else have their own shades to play on one console and yet still play on your own account on same team like C.O.D using one console 👍
Dammit, I just bought a new TV. Technology is always evolving, fuck!!!😂
Didn't sony make something similar in the mid 90's for $500 but then it was sold for watching TV anywhere even while a cop is writing out a ticket?
The glasses looks great, but that price point is way to high if the product was 200. I think most ppl would get it or even get 2 of them.
Seen this before I have something like it's headphones that turn into a screen on your face when you place them kn your eyes called glyph or something at 720 which I bought for 150.00 on ebay.
i used to have Nreal glasses before, it's cool but i have bad astigmatism that's why I returned it.
Worth it!!! People pay $800 For Louie V and Gucci glasses 😅
Least you don't have to worry about the the kids touching your tv screen and whacking it with toys etc
I wanna see the picture thru the glasses and see what it looks like. If its better than playing on a monitor or tv. Then its worth the money. Otherwise whats the point? Can you completely see the whole screen thru them?
Cool! I gotta get one of these for my PS3! 🎉
Looks like a smaller and more affordable Apple Glass....crazy I havent seen or heard about these
I'd rather pay $500 for the PS VR 2 before I pay $800 for those glasses 🤓
They need to make some glasses that fit over your regular glasses.. i cant see to good after awhile after taking of my prescription ones
Make the body suit w sensors so u can feel every shot on call of duty
This is the future but waiting till 8k comes out
Yo this would be much better no more tv just put on the glass and lay down on your bed and play or watching movie till you felt asleep loool
Eveyone that wears them looks super cool.
How much is one?
I doubt I can afford it. But it would be a great Christmas gift. ❤ this technology.
What about the damage to our eyes when we play for 8 hours?
Bro the controller lagging and I have my TV from the ps3 some how it lasted longer than my systems
I have the XREAL glasses best ever
they blurry as hell, the beam literally drops my Switch's fps to 15
It seems nice for switch games and such, but wouldn't it be difficult to play on mobile games? Not seeing phone, no buttons, would make it difficult to navigate phone. Eye-tracking feature would be nice, and 4k. 1080p seems a bit too low.
I find that just about any mobile game that I play, I don't need to see the controls to press them effectively. Sure if you are playing a touch screen game where your touch points are all over the screen, yeah it may be harder to get used to. I'd say a good majority of mobile games typically use a limited touch area (often a virtual gamepad/controller or are usually just thumb taps).
Think of it this way, if it is a game that you can still effectively play by using an external controller, then it would be well suited to be played with AR glasses. But the human brain is pretty amazing. I bet for most people they could adapt fairly quickly to even be able to play games where the touch points could be anywhere on the screen.
Sadly my current phone doesn't support PD Alt Mode, so I cannot use my Xreal Air glasses with it. My current phone is about to be toast now aways, so I'll be getting one that I know is compatible with my glasses. I'll be curious to try out my AR glasses with games that are not well suited to using a controller with.
But I do love using my AR glasses with my ROG Ally. Its the perfect take-anywhere "big screen" gaming system...Laundromat, lunch break, flights, etc.
As for the resolution. The screens are so tiny that it likely would not make a difference. With screens this size, even 720p would have a nice sharp image, due to its pixel density not having to be stretched very much. Plus there has to be a limit to how many pixels you can physically cram into such a small space.
The important factors for screens this small is more on smoother refresh rates than anything else. Since the screen is so close to you, and APPEARS to be so large, stutters and frame skips may be even more noticeable.
Another deciding factor for AR glasses would be brightness. In bright light it's hard to see the image clearly without having the blinding shield on my glasses. With the shield on, I can see the image perfectly, but then I don't have the benefit of seeing through my glasses anymore. So when shopping away, screen brightness may be a concern. Personally I don't mind using the shield over my glasses (Xreals come with the shield...I imagine that most other companies also include a shield with their AR glasses as well); however there may be people out there who want to have a clear picture AND still be able to see through them, whether they are in bright light or not...to these people screen brightness will be a big factor on which product they go with.
Boris Johnson, is that you?
You too can get these glasses...for the same price as a new Playstation 5.
Remember don't sit too close to the TV, now let's get it as close to our eyes as possible lol
$800!!!!!!!!!....hahahahahahahahahahaha....oh wait, you are being serious! Lol
And my mom kept warning me to not stay too close to the television
$800? I used to be able to afford things and now am unemployed. So $800.00 plus taxes $860.00 is a lot of money for glass.
Why does this guy remind me so much of Jonah hill 😂 I think that makes the videos more engaging to me lol
