A gentle reminder that in an imperfect world there is still great beauty. The eyes do not always see it right away. But the human heart knows it is there, waiting to be discovered. Sometimes it requires a genius filmmaker and his cinematographer(s) to capture it for us.
The movies of Malick are scenically beautiful. But more beautiful and priceless is what they are pointing to, these are way to become enlightened, pointing to abyss, I have put lot of thoughts in them and watched them over and over, to know what they are about, you will be surprised at the end. Warning :- They will sound terribly boring or pretentious to the mind filled with ego. But that is point we were deceived by our conditionings. What you became before, what you were? Step backwards you will be in bliss!
great use of visual storytelling my friend , no doubt Malick has a distinctive visual style but bringing all those elements together to say something is mesmerizing . not to mention the portrayal of human and human nature itself through all four elements .
Magnifique ! A perfect demonstration of the Heideggerian description : "To be a work [of art] means to set up a world (Werksein heisst : eine Welt aufstellen)". (See The Origin of the Work of Art (1936), in M. Heidegger, Basic Writings, Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1978, p. 170) A few lines below to understand the meaning of the world as such : "World is the ever-nonobjective to which we are subject as long as the paths of birth and death, blessing and curse keep us transported into Being."
The reason is because, the video has many cuts and is portrayed in different sizes, having different aspect ratios for different films, it may seem disorienting. It was important for me that it all seemed visually seamless.
Is there anything more beautiful than Terrence Malick filming water?

Wow
four elements
Cool video, but why would you alter the aspect ratios?
The reason is because, the video has many cuts and is portrayed in different sizes, having different aspect ratios for different films, it may seem disorienting. It was important for me that it all seemed visually seamless.
