- #264. Using ALCOHOL To Make HOLOGRAPHIC Effects In Resin Art!
In todays Resin Art video, I show how I achieved some crazy almost holographic looking pieces by using alcohol on my resin and then curing.
The alcohol on the resin created the shiniest finish and texture I have ever seen in resin art! Along with the nail powders, the results are incredible!
I filmed this one a few weeks ago now and have only just got round to editing and uploading, we are so close to 100,000k now guys, thanks so much!
I will be at Makers Central this weekend so may be slow replying to your comments but keep them coming!
Ok, now for the disclaimer! Isopropyl alcohol is extremely flammable! NO FLAMES OR TORCHES! NO SOURCES OF IGNITION! Isopropyl can self ignite but it requires a temperature of 400C/750F, UV resin can get hot whilst curing (not as hot as the isopropyl needs to be to self ignite) however, Isopropyl fumes can ignite if there are any sources of ignition near by, I do not know which lamps you are using or if they may have breaks in the wires (source of ignition).... for this, I am advising not to try this experiment at home!

Super cool using an easy ish technique. Thanks Dan
Just so simple, yet so beautiful. 😍 Have fun at MC Daniel!
Thank you! 😊
So pretty.
How can something so simple look so beautiful?
That is a stunner
Love it!!
Why not try layers...same technique w/mold half full, then next layer with different powder color, then backer layer. Might give more depth, might not work at all.
Sounds like,a good idea!
Has anyone tried this yet? If so, how did it turn out?
I've done this and played around with epoxy. It's so pretty and makes it pop. Just can't use to much color so it gets a good cure. Also there's a paper yu can add to give the "dragon tales rock" effect.
These are so pretty tho ! ❤
Very nice, they all look amazing. ❤❤
Super cool Daniel!
Love love love them all
Thank you!!!!
They kinda look like opal love your work
Have a great time this weekend; remember you are a BOSS!
Very cool ❤ i really like them all the on with the stick detail my fav also i was thinking maybe a face in there might shift nicely thencover with more resin reply another face powdered on in a darke shade then cover again so you have his and hers faces shifting i dont know if this poss but just idea some memory incased in brain lol anyhow your stuff is the absolute best and because your so interesting it really get people like me thinking more you sir have got my imagination popping like it hasn't in a very very long time I thank you you re- awakened my creativity !! !
Very cool…
With the white it looks opal like! Very pretty and shiny 😊
These are all quite beautiful! So simple for such a stunning effect, thanks Daniel ❤ Have a great time this weekend, do you think anyone will be videoing the Makers event this weekend, I love to see bits and pieces of it…👍😁

Wow Dan still here still following even if I can't comment. But things don't always run smoothly in life unfortunately my resin experiments have ground yo a halt along with other things But still love your work and you give me so many ideas for when I'm back.

This works with epoxy too lol found out by accident 😂 with lots it looks like waves
So much easier than cling film or gloves and moreorganic looking too
💖💖💖💖💖 Bon we Dan !!!
That's gorgeous! Looks like Mother of pearl
Omg i love this 😍👍 thanks
They're absolutely gorgeous! I can hardly wait to do my own experiments with this technique!
These are so cool!❤❤❤
Awesome results ❤
I honestly think if you use a little bit of the yellowish gold with the blue in the white and then add maybe a little bit of the lighter greys and darker gray you could come up with almost a perfect labradorite Stone maybe even using a darker alcohol ink to get the cracking in it as well I think that you could achieve that and I think it would be absolutely wonderful! I know I am definitely going to try it out labradorite is my absolute favorite Stone next to the moonstone
Thanks
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks 🥰
Next year I’m definitely going 😅. As always excellent 👍 video ❤️❤️❤️
I love those iridescent colors in those pieces. I wonder if that can be done with a pen blank that has the brass tube suspended in the mold and plugged off at both ends?
Beautiful
Those are absolutely amazing! The white ones look incredible and I'm like you usually loving the black background. Have fun at Makers Central!
I actually managed to get a bottle of the frost effect. Had to keep checking on it. Then one day it was actually in stock!🥳
These are amazing!
Hope you have a great experience at MC Dan
This is clean🎉
Thank you, Daniel! ❤️

Wow, these are gorgeous Daniel. Enjoy Makers central.
As usual ❤❤❤
The white cloudy ones almost looks like an opalite
