    🍣 ABOUT THE SUSHI MAN:
    Jun Nakajima, CHEF AND FOUNDER
    Raised in a restaurant household, Jun's love for food began at a very early age. His parents have owned and operated a Japanese restaurant for over 30 years where he practiced and honed his culinary skills.
    Somewhat forced upon, he was taught the art of sushi making in his teenage years. He quickly fell in love not only with the art but the endless opportunities that came with it.
    He has traveled around the globe to try different styles of sushi, most importantly to Japan.
    After college, Jun had taken an opportunity to live in the motherland of sushi, working for something completely outside the culinary field. In those two years his appreciation of the culture, people, history and food deepened.
    He became addicted to the food scene and found himself traveling from one end of the island to the other, eating and drinking some of the best foods and drinks he's ever had. This experience became the seed which eventually bloomed to become The Sushi Man.

    it isn't supposed to be sushi rice, but using sushi rice adds a ton of flavor! I can't eat the 711 spam musubi anymore because it tastes so much better with sushi rice. Also a spam musubi with spam fried rice with a slice of fried spam is amazing too

      Spam with sushi rice is good, I'll admit👍And the fried rice version sounds amazing, thanks for the suggestion!

    I notice there are several kinds of miso sold on Amazon. Are you using the rd miso paste? Thank you for such great tutorials.

      I like to use awase miso, which is a combination of red and white but you can use either one for this recipe. Red has a more bold flavor while white is milder.

      Hey, long story short, I started working at my parent's Japanese restaurant at an early age and learned how to make sushi from my dad there. And then just kept learning and teaching myself new things throughout the years. Nowadays, you can practically learn anything on TH-cam though, hence my channel 😉

    Spam musubi is made with short grain sticky rice isn’t it? You just don’t add vinegar

    • @TheSushiMan
      @TheSushiMan  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Correct, Japanese short grain rice is usually what we use and there's no need to add sushi vinegar.

    I prefer medium well done fried spam, 9, 11, to 13 per can. No sauce. Because I use the regular Spam, no sauce is required

    • @OuryLN
      @OuryLN หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I use fried sliced hotdog, I use the sauce

    • @OuryLN
      @OuryLN หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, I slice mine in half for the kiddies, pupu size!
