Hi Bradley, After a while, you may notice a buildup of residue on the inside of the test cell. Fill the test cell with water and add a couple drops of Sulfuric Acid .12N (R-0009) to the cell. Use a bristle brush to scrub the inside of the cell. Rinse your comparator and discard the brush after use. We recommend replacing your comparator every 2-3 years depending on frequency of use.
This K-2005 pool water test kit is junk. I have a much cheaper kit that works a whole lot better. Very little explanation of what the test results mean and seriously, less in the way of good clear instructions, it is a piece of garbage. On top of that the solutions they put in the kit are wrong, instead of following the numbering, I got 007, 008 and 007, no 009 and then I get 0010, 0011 and 0010, no 0012. So I can't run the Alkalinity or CYAD test that I bought this stupid kit for, in addition to the garbage in the kit, the quality control is a joke. Do they have the sight impaired loading the solutions in the kit? What the hell? And of course, no refunds, that should have been enough for me to pass but I heard this was the GOAT. More like the worst pool water test kit on earth.
do you have a link were to buy that daylight simulator?
Ugh. I tested and couldn't get it to go colorless. Put in 20 drops in the 25 ml and it never turned to clear.
How do I clean my comparator? The tube gets dingy after a bit

Need to be a Chemist to use this test
I agree lol. I just got an in ground pool and the company gave me this kit and it’s incredibly confusing and so is the book it comes with.
