The Termite armor with the giddy goop is an op combo, Termite armor still has high defense without using more stamina and stacking debuffs that slow the enemy are amazing.
@LoOpTy711 the termite armor and broodmother armor sets dont have the defense to stamina usage ratio buff anymore, like it said it was medium armor but gave heavy defense, would use the roly poly armor or mantis armor, the extra defense for remixed worlds is really helpful and a full crit build with mantis gear and scythe combo speed and giddy goop is so powerful you can get the BM down a 1/3 if her health before the first scream.
doesnt he form his opinion based on the average players too? obviously if you are on his level, it doesnt matter how much more damage you get when you dont receive any because you perfectblock 90% of all attacks...

I think the Mantis Trinket is amazing!! I’m that guy!!! I find with weapons with very fast combos it allows massive stacks. When combined with the mantis armor and the SOUR battle-axe, that swing speed and chopper does so much damage and getting that 2% bonus to Crit when you don’t Crit makes the uptime on the set bonus from the armor so much lower. And in fights like the IBM it’s not weird to get 5-10 stacks before you Crit sometimes! You don’t Crit as often as you’d like, but damn is it worth it with the axe, you output insane amounts of stun and bleed that devastates bosses!
Mhmmm I can see it but with coup de grass, spider slider, boss sauce and thors pendant you have a 17% crit chance so you would rarely go more than 3 combos without landing a crit. I can see how it pairs well with the armor bonus though
I use the rotten berry charm for one thing at the start. Raiding the black ant hill with sleek spider armor to poison all ants around me with increased poison damage. I rub a stuffed black ant, a mount, and have ant-annihilator on. After that I don’t use the berry charm anymore, lol.
Hey, you may know this already but you can get the Giddy Goop as a regular drop from fireflies. I just started a new playthrough and got it after killing 6 fireflies with a bow (I know I got lucky but it was definitely easier than getting Rascal Rogue and trying to take them down with melee)
Ranking trinkets by how hard they are to get is kinda ridiculous because no matter how hard it is to get if its utility is s tier I'm always gonna try to get it
Funny story, when I got to the dirty ashtray, when I broke the first sour lump, I GOT THE TINKET, first try, idk how much luck I had then but I can’t seem to get it back :(
To me, the fungal charm made the Infected Broodmother fight so much less difficult that I beat her fifty times without fail with my friend to get the gold card, right after we were completely obliterated by her before using that trinket. Strongly recommending it if the explosives are what's challenging to someone, rather than the speed + healing debuffs.
Honestly the Mantis trinket effect should be the Assassin Armor set bonus, always seemed odd how the crit armor doesn't really give crit chance bonuses. Critical Chain is a weird buff since it needs a crit to boost your crit chance and it doesn't even stack despite it's name lol. Firefly trinket is insanely good, easily the best for most fights. Also shoutouts to the tier 1 bow trinket giving a better buff to bows than a full set of sleek Wasp armor lmao
Personally I like astonishing acid early to early mid game, Because I like how op the red ant club is sometimes and paired with astonishing acid makes it really good
Im a ps5 player so obviously i was late to the whole grounded party. Now that i am tho, ive began to pay way more attention to trinkets. The new game plus trinkets are GAME CHANGING. Sizzle immunity, damage boosts, swimmjng without the appropriate gear and being able to stay submerged indefinitely. The hauling trinkets for building. Some of them are genuine godsends when using them in specific areas
Hey Para \0 one thing you mentioned i'd like to comment / add too -- i would love there to be a second trinket slot or even a trinket + a badge slot. Would be a great way to add more builds to the game. As always keep up the good work on Grounded!

Bro. I'm sorry but the Intern Badge is S teir, A teir at least. Aphid slippers and 2/3 Natural Explorer cancels the speed debuf, so when running yiu as fast as you are walking. Add Hauling Hero and Buff Lungs and your hauling 50 items at once, and pair it again with an advanced pallet then you coming home with PLENTY of resources, making 8 trips all into one.
Okay, I sense a debate commencing but I shall stand my ground! Yeah, you can get rid of the Intern Badge, but Workers Comp dosent compensate. Besides, as I said, hauling 50 - 60 turns 3 trips into one, and even then, 15 extra hauling capacity is great compared to the like, 8 (I think) from workers comp (which you can also pair with my original comment)
Nah man. Shit is too slow. Especially once you have ziplines to funnel planks and stems into base faster. You want to be sprinting not jogging when farming building material. With NG+ I found a waffle with The Quickness and +Hauling Strength together making that trinket all but useless.

I just watched your video on the new trinkets, and I have just started a new playthrough and needed to tell you that you absolutely do _not_ need to use Rascal Rogue to get the Giddy Goop, (maybe you knew that already) but I got it after killing 6 fireflies with a bow, and like I said I just started a new playthrough I definitely don't have rascal rogue yet! Super glad I got lucky and got the goop lol
Just to put it out there full sleek ladybug armor with compliance badge and a bandage kills a widow without breaking a sweat same as mantis or bmother 😅 in combo with certain mutations you are almost Completly unkillable.

i would love to see a drop rate increase for the sour candy trinket since there are like none of them and only the black widow is weak to sour. i tend to keep the gum equipped and swap to a candy based on the weakness of the bug im fighting (only for bugs with high hp im trying to kill them fast)
O.R.C. creatures are also massively weak to sour as well, not so much important for ants, but good for the black ox, bombardier, ladybird, tiger mosquitos, and fireflies.
The fungus trinket is guaranteed to get if you chop down a fungal thing that is located in one of the bottom rocks of the pond's surface, behind the pagoda. There's also a mega milk molar there

Wouldn't bother using exploits to win combat encounters. Makes the game a slog and less enjoyable. Spend more time getting better at combat and less time trying to circumvent the challenge and it will pay off in the long run in the form of memorizing enemy movesets, parry timing, managing stamina and heals ect.
some crinkles, cones and waffles can have "The Quickness" effect and it is actually faster than the speed droplet (so i wasted 10 hours of my time grinding this stupid aphid poo...)
If you can ever get one that it's skills line up. Waffles you can get lucky and cones take literally ages to ever have all 3 skills be amazing together.
@@TheLuconic really not that big a deal. The badges are made to do very specific things, and they literally just raised the values on both ends. Definitely not ruined. Like the Ento badge literally just got a fat buff. How is that ruined?
Forget the broodmother trinket doubling damage, they should have added a mutation called "Commander" or something that will boost summon damage by 50% per level up to 150% more damage, and mastery giving maybe a bonus bleed. The way to level it up is to obviously kill creatures with your summons, 10 for level 1, 25 for level 2, and 50 for level 3(the requirement is kind of low because the summons don't do nearly as much damage as I think they should, not that they should solo a stinkbug or anything, but still, maxed out summoner build should have all the summons be able to handle a wolf spider without spicy arrows just fine).
It also increases the summon duration by 200% cuz the mant disappears too quickly and is unusable. I mean it has a lot of health but disappears before it even gets like less than a quarter of health.
@Paraly5er since I got the direct line to you here, for a challenge how about Whoa mode, rotten gear only (for weapons and armor, can use normal tools for resource gathering). You can 100% it if your feeling extra masochistic, but I'm not insisting on that level of punishment.

Just imagine pulling up with 3 damage augments, or like the biomed with billy hog, or even capacitor with giddy goop, possibilieties are crazy. And yeah i do agree that they should do something about the spidery situation, the choice between damage explosions and a summon is just meh. Spore lord and mom genes are mid anyway, they should just make it so spiderlings turn into widowlings after finding something in the brawny boy bin and simply remove IBM trinket, making spore lord do the thing. OP? Yes. Deserved? Yes.

The giddy goop was a pain for me to get. But def worth it. Killed about 90 fireflies with sticky fingers and rascal rogue lvl 2

It’s probably the only truly viable option early to mid game if you’re solo and not running a bow build. Increased damage is still increased damage.

A lot of cheese in the game has been removed with regards to bosses but plenty of regular enemies can easily still be cheesed
