@@mariaohno403 Hi there! Depends how you use your car, how dirty it gets. It’s recommended to have two basic details a month for a daily driver. Good for you! You can start exercising on your parents car. Avoid working in the sun, make sure you use masking tape an all plastic and rubber trims around the car. Always start with your wheels, tyres and wheel arches. This is what he forgot to add in this video.
Man, the fact that you still read and sometimes reply to just about every single one of your comments EVEN on your older videos really shows the kind of dedication you have to teaching people and engaging with your community. You're honestly the most genuine youtuber I've ever seen.
Something important to mention is if you drop your clay bar, do not use it on paint anymore. You will be tempted to pick out the visible contaminants and keep using it. Do not do this. No matter how "clean" it looks. It isn't worth the risk. You can also cut your new clay bars in half, half a bar is easily enough to clay an average vehicle. This gives you more bars of clay you know are 100% clean, and if you drop it, you're not wasting the entire bar. Also, don't stop at the paint. Clay everything, glass, wheels, chrome, lights, trim, etc. You can also save older bars for less sensitive areas. I use new bars for paint, and have older bars designated for glass only, wheels only, etc. use before finally throwing them away when they're trashed. 👍👌✌

One of the best videos on TH-cam for beginners wanting to know how to clean a dirty car in layman’s terms with layman’s products. Loved the fact you didn’t bust out a dual action and did by hand. Way more helpful for the DIYer not trying to spend a ton of money. Emphasized NO SCRATCHING methods which is the most important concept. 50likes
Cleaning and tinkering on the car that the younger me would've dreamed of really helps me to get through the day sometimes, and to know there are people out there who love doing the exact same things as I do, makes me feel a lot better about myself. Then I sealed it with a Ceramic-Hydrophobic spray to avoid water spots. Thanks for making the tutorial so easy and fun to do Chris!
Yeah that stuff always confuses me as well. If you don't like a video "enough" that you're compelled to give it a thumbs down, the least you can do is leave a comment and explain why you didn't like it. It is actually helpful to get feedback from viewers so you can always be improving. A down vote, just because, w/o any useful feedback is just people being d*cks.
Chris, you are truly an icon. I just recently bought my 1st car and ever since I have been watching videos about cars non-stop. The QUALITY and VALUE of your videos are greatly appreciated. Keep up with the good work : )
I already knew why detailers charged a quite a bit, but now its even more clear after watching this video. It's a lot of care and effort that is put towards making your exterior feel so fresh and new. I'm planning on doing this myself, but I have garnered even more respect for detailers. Just the exterior can be a lot of work, I can't even fathom the amount of effort required to clean the interior.
Emir Bahar the check to the right is there because he has a lot of subs, it’s the verification check because a lot of people tend to pretend to be other you tubers so people know he’s real

Just became a car owner and it’s pretty overwhelming seeing how much effort needs to be put in just keeping the car properly cleaned. It’s a 2022 Mazda CX-30 (Machine Grey Metallic | Trim: Turbo Premium Plus) and I LOVE IT TO DEATH! It’s gonna be my car for a very long time so of course I wanna care for it! I watched the whole thing, but my car is a piece of shit and not even worth washing. Lol I bought it from a guy that hit a tree, and I "fixed" it with a hack saw, pry bar, sledge hammer, and zip ties. The computer unit and horn are literally held on by zip ties because I cut away most of one fender and the attached mounting points.

Just wanted to let you know that this was the video that did it for me. The one I saw that gave me the final push to getting serious about taking care of my car, my 87 IROC-Z. Stopped going to the spin wash and instead spent 6-8 hours at the hand wash clay barring and waxing. Sold the IROC, bought a 77 Fleetwood Brougham that got the same amount of love and care Even she's moved on to someone new though, now its my 01 Outback H6's turn. I came back to say thank you ChrisFix, and I'm glad to see it still inspires others too! BTW, your wash and wax methods also work when cleaning up Underwood 5 and Royal 10 Typewriter panels!
I cleaned the inside of my vehicle given the advice from your last video. I loved that I wiped the dashboard with soap and water first and then used the detailer. Smells very clean and looks great! Love your videos! The clay bar usage is very impressive.
I literally just got my temps and I'm not buying a car for another 6 months, but I'm just preparing myself to take care of whatever car I decide to buy.
I've been detailing my cars ever since my first one at age 16, some 40 odd years ago; every Sunday was car care day, wash, wax, armor all and windex and tires and rims. Now with a brand new Power Wagon, I've decided I need to take my detailing to another level. This video all with all his other videos are helping me do just that.
@@chrisfix Have you made a video that addresses rubber, vinyl and plastic cleaning and rejuvenation? This is what I am trying to address right now on my two cars from an appearance point of view. Save money?! I’ve just spent $300 on car cleaning products 😂😂
@@justfeelsso7389 feelsbadman
@@justfeelsso7389 that’s $300 worth of products will last you bud and save you money instead of getting a detail for $200+. The detail Chris does in the video is easily $200 plus from any detailer

It might seem kinda weird to say this but, watching your videos really helps me to take my mind off things sometimes. I often find myself coming back and watching your videos in my free time, even if I don't need to figure out how to topup the indicator fluid or the correct way to recalibrate the mirrors
I am currently working on "How to SuperClean your Engine Bay (without causing DAMAGE)" and that is the next video on my channel! Lots of awesome info coming your way!!!
Steam is by far the best for engine bay, you gotta try it. I do it at work on graders and dozers and it's like performing a miracle. Also undercarriage on light vehicles.

ChrisFix what is soapy wooder?
I already knew why detailers charged a quite a bit, but now its even more clear after watching this video. It's a lot of care and effort that is put towards making your exterior feel so fresh and new. I'm planning on doing this myself, but I have garnered even more respect for detailers. Just the exterior can be a lot of work, I can't even fathom the amount of effort required to clean the interior.

Tip: if you are removing any tags fron microfiber towels/sponges its reccomendable to rip them off not to cut them
