I think original spyro (an anti piracy message followed by increasing glitching, and eventually a soft lock / save game delete at final boss), earthbound (random freezes, 1000 times normal encounters, and a particularly cruel crash / save game delete at final boss), and kirby golf still had best anti-piracy... Honorable Ultima 4 for PC where they just made it so your weapons and spells never hit monsters, and they could never miss.

I just keep them using until some triggers pressed, like saving the progress, or accessing the "premium" features. if its for pc, i often mess with their wallpapers and stuff 😂.
