I am with you. The old machine needs to show its heritage. I just discovered mine is a 1927. I am excited to get it going. I am keeping the clutch motor but installing a consew 3000 servo like yours. It's like you are making a resto rod machine.
A great machine! I have the very similar, and more rare, 31-20. It has a clutch motor, but I got it from a friend who was a wizard with old machines. He replaced the hand wheel with a larger pully to make a speed reducer. This machine has reliably sewn all my chaps, belts, and wallets for about 25 years now!
I found my 31-15 laying by the side of the road rusted and frozen solid. I am restoring it and you have been very helpful. Thanks Walt Z

What a magnificent piece of machinery. Pity that they aren't in business anymore.
