Hey hey my man, Mitch from the comments here. I saw this around 30 years ago and it's due a second viewing again. I get what you mean about not fully utilising Jackie, as you see he was one of, if not the best screen martial artists, so giving him guns and knives is wasting talent, in my opinion. I know it's an unpopular opinion and some random guy will tell me movies aren't high art, embellished with quotes and suggest a bunch of hobbies I should take up instead, but I don't like Enter the dragon... I think Robert Clowse wasted an opportunity to showcase Lee, its like a James Bond film and I think the fights aren't shot very well - I prefer HK made films. Oh I tried watching Last dragon, but wasn't enjoying it, to be honest the trailer put me off. Putting it bluntly, I don't like American action films and that's my opinion. I am also not prepared to argue about it because as a wise sage once said, and I quote "arguing with someone online is like trying to teach a pigeon to play chess, the pigeon will knock all the pieces over, crap all over the board and then strut around like it's won the game." Always happy to support your channel and hear your thoughts mate.
Hello my friend! Jackie definitely made some smart changes with this one, I didn't talk about it but apparently he added the entire Sally subplot too, otherwise it was pretty much just him and Aiello kickin around. I REALLY need to look up Clouse, he obviously makes a splash with Enter the Dragon (which I haven't actually seen in its entirety, glaring omission there) but then also directs some real "questionable material," let's say, not the least of which includes Game of Death (which I have seen??), so yeah there has to be a story with that guy. And hey, the fact that The Last Dragon isn't everybody's cup of tea should not come as a surprise to anybody, I also welcome your thoughts anytime Mitch! (from the comments)
@@ryan_runs_ hello mate, I honestly can't watch Game of death again, I think it's Bruceploitation at its very lowest. I recently watched Fearless hyena 2 which was a film Jackie walked out halfway through making and director Lo Wei completed using similar techniques (look a likes) that for me is a pretty good film. We need a catch up mate, always happy to speak with you.
I mean it's hard to get lower than using actual footage if him in the casket, won't ever be watching that one again either. Pleasantly surprised Fearless Hyena 2 is worth a watch though, I had kind of written off the sequels after hearing about that mess. The third sounds like a complete disaster. Will send a message this week about chatting soon!
