Hey hey my man, Mitch from comments here. I love the phrase American VHS shelf, which is something I would go to at the video rental store when I was a lot younger. This film is epic in scale, it's a slow build up and I love the fact Sammo did stuff like this. An awful lot of Hong Kong films are tonally all over the place and you k get used to it I suppose. Regarding Cinematic chaos, the end of Disciples of Shaolin is bonkers, 8 Diagram pole fighter is a wee bit. But Sammo is the master. Martial arts of shaolin, hmm not my favourite but Paul's case is sound as to why it's his top pick. I am around for a catch up mate and would love to come back and chat.

Good call on Disciples, I should've thought of that, I mean LKL is no stranger to spinning A LOT of plates with his films for sure, while Sammo seems like he'll just go ahead and let them spin out of control for the entire last act of his movies lol.
