@@sassytbc7923 - I noticed that also, almost like they've relegated him to living in the shadow of his older brother. He looked like such a nice young man too.
@@sammyjo8109 It still hurts, believe me. This kid gets overlooked a lot. His brother gets a lot of attention because of his illness, it makes a difference.
Wow the low key brother is chopped liver. A bit overlooked and sinking into the abyss since the CF bro get all the attention. I too felt sympathy for the left out brother.
I lost someone very close to me at the age of 14, she died in her fathers' arms due to Cystic Fibrosis. I used to cuddle her on my visits, she died in 1993, even today I miss her. She truly was one of Gods' little angels. She never let her condition phase her and soldiered on to the end. I truly feel for this family, but I do know of someone living to the age of 54, little consolation but it can offer some hope.
Why seem your other son.....didn't show to video.......please don't ignore and just paying attention to one only.............but the rescuer done a good job.......thumbs up!!!! well-done.......
Speaking of this young man catching a cold .I used to get a cold 3 to 4 times per year, I would lose my voice, very frustrating until I started drinking 5-6 oz.of orange juice daily also eating an apple daily. I haven’t had a cold in 3 1/2 yrs. By the way I love all your shows.
Making the kitchen bigger and nicer the whole family can sit more comfortably at the dinner table, and just being a family, the living room is just gorgeous, I love the wooden swing, the office was great. JJ keep up with Team Shenanigans. I’m so sorry for any one whom suffers from Cystic Fibrosis, I pray they can find a cure.
Amazing family so deserving of this!! Cystic Fibrosis sounds so hard!! (Anyone else only learn about this because of Five Feet apart? It’s so sad to see it in real life, the afflo vest, and everything it’s crazy! Just reminds me to thank GD for what I have)
I have never known a person with Cystic Fibrosis that didn't face life with a determination to live in spite of Cystic Fibrosis. The love they have for each other is obvious. I'm the mother of children with Cystic Fibrosis that are now deceased. J J thank you for what you're doing to bring awareness to CF so that a Cure can be found. Your helping others to live, new drugs are being found that will make a difference in lives of those affected by Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis affects the whole family not just the one that has the disease. George, thank you for helping this family.
What an inspirational young fella..We can only pray he and his family are well and continue so. I do agree with the others who also noted how the younger brother was side-stacked. What we do not know however is, he may be very shy and requested not to be highlighted.
Always great shows. I love the happy smiles. Although, I think the editing crew should have included the 2nd son more. I've heard how the healthy get left out of situations and not feeling like part of the family. I sure hope this is not the case.
My daughter passed away from C.F. Her big brother didn't so we went out of our way to make sure he got just as much love & attention. The only difference was she needed so much medical assistance while my son didn't but he would have been happy to take a 'back seat', which just wouldn't have been fair.... effectively treating both kids as if they had C.F seemed normal to us so watching the brother seemingly left out broke my heart & I didn't even catch his name :(
Wow see how the younger brother felt. No shot included him with rhe other 3 .No name. 3 person shots .family of 4 .the 14yr old must always feel outside . 3cheers from Canada .
I would love it if J.J. could get online with The Frey Life... another family dealing with C.F. P.S. Mary Frey and her hubby, Peter, are well known in the C.F. community, and may already know J.J. Mary is pretty, playful, and just turned 30. i think she'd love that swing! The Freys attend a number of C.F. events every year.
I love what you are doing. May I make a humble suggestion? The cabinetry could go to a salvage place and someone else could get them for little cash. Also recycle the boxes as well. I'm so excited that you do this for families
That's a great suggestion concerning the cardboard since they go through an awful lot of boxes and it all goes into the dumpster along with everything else
Really nice job. The kitchen is beautiful and his office will be even more functional. I wish JJ all the best in his fundraising efforts ( and I love the team name SHENANIGANS) .great family and great rescue. 👏👏👏👏
Thank you jj for all that you do. I may not be there to experience or see what you're doing but I'm grateful for all of the people that you are doing it for even yourself and your strength is amazing keep it up fella
I hope this young man was able to get the new drug that recently became available for the best medical treatment for CF to date....so many are having great results with it.
Surprise they have carpets. I mean we have dust allergies and asthma and we have no material that can catch dust around the house. But then they probably have financial issues to take care of that.
Yep, we removed old 70's red gold shag and it was barely under $10,000 (blew up from 6k to almost every 10k). With their medical bills on top, even with insurance can really eat into funds.
And to think that now there's Vertex meds, which is the closest thing to a cure for CF in history.... I hope he's thriving today, and that Vertex works for him.
Mr. G. "Rescue" Oliphant, how woukd I get in touch with Team Shensnigans ? I had hooed fir a link but there wasn't one. This episode really touched me.
I really don't know what all the talk here is referencing the brother not being included. Do these ppl know if the brother takes a back seat out of respect, concern, and maybe even humility. I see the brother as a stand up young man that cares for his afflicted sibling. A brother likely willing to be there in times of difficulty as the family strives to be like any healthy common every day troupe.
They probably have stay on budget. And it is to help the one who needs the most. The kitchen is like a gift for the whole family. I think the brother understood and have been with his brother going through the pains that the family had to be extremely careful to care for him like keeping dust free and all.
My old best friend has cf and when we were younger I would play emoji games over text with her while she was doing her vest like how jj was, to sorta distract her as it’s not very pleasant but it’s very important to shake up the buildup in a cf patients lungs
I so hope he's been able to benefit for the miracle drug, Trikafta, that is changing the lives of so many CF patients. Keep giving to the CF Foundation.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that saw it, the whole family kinda just didn't really look at him or ask him how he felt they all just asked JJ. I mean yeah you should be proud of JJ but don't forget about your other child and how he feels.
Dont be fooled. This episode itself has had a thousand cuts and edits to make JJ the "main character".It looks like he gets all attention because the whole reno was about his story.... that doesn't mean that his brother is neglected on a daily basis😒.
Actually this kid is never more than 1 sec in close up face front to the camera.....That was made on purpose. But they don't do that in other episodes, so I think the kid didn't wanted to be filmed at all because of awkwardness! That can happened.....
You right about that, some drywall, OSB and some wooden stacks, no that is not what we call a wall, that is brick and stone, not drywall and staples !!
Love this channel, but JJ is a young man, not a little girl. The space that the swing takes up would have been better served with a small couch for visitors and more storage space for his Team Shenanigans work!! Be a little more practical, Rose.

Jude Lewis actually it is still a beach porch entryway and will be a fun diversion from harsh realities.
I think it's supposed to be for the parents, it's their front porch too.
I love to swing, and I'm 65 yrs old. When was the last time YOU played?
That end of the porch/room is meant for the whole family to relax in, not just for JJ's use, so the swing is quite practical.
Jude Lewis I did think there wasn’t enough storage and the swing takes up more room than the sofa did.
