    I think RC manufacturers are exactly the same as automotive manufacturers. Every company has its positives and negatives. The key point to RC is to get out there and have fun. You're driving the one you chose for your happiness! Great vid!

      Same here. People keep talking about Arrma. But what good is it to have an RC if i cannot get spare parts for it. Not sure why Arrma's spare part supply is so poor in EU :/ Having to wait 2-3 weeks to get spare parts is unacceptable. And personally i do not wanna have to buy a ton of parts in advance, that i may or may not need.

    To answer your question about the kraton, I have both. I had the erevo before I had the kraton. It was my favorite truck of all time and nothing could beat it. But then I got the kraton, and in my opinion it is the more fun truck. It’s much more stable, and balanced, and glued to the ground. In air stability and control is amazing. I don’t even touch my revo anymore. The kraton is just a more fun truck to me now than the revo

    I agree. Traxxas parts availability (OEM and aftermarket) and customer service is why I have eight Traxxas vehicles right now. • @JPTulo
    @JPTulo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great vid Tom!(It is Tom, right?) I have a lot of complaints about Traxxas. Their message board used to be GREAT! It was an invaluable tool that could help you figure anything out about whatever TRX chassis you needed info on. For whatever reason, Traxxas decided that they didn't want a high volume message board and I think they considered shutting it down at one point. The mods don't let you mention any manufacturers other than Traxxas, and they will close threads, delete posts, and censor users to a ridiculous degree. I made a post at one point asking how to use a Traxxas product that had been discontinued and a mod told me I wasn't allowed to use that product anymore and closed my thread and wouldn't tell me why. I reposted the thread and they gave me warning points or whatever and threatened to ban me! I've been an upstanding member of that message board since 1998. Also the proprietary nature of the ID battery system and how you're not allowed to use non Traxxas chargers to charge their batteries is extremely frustrating. And it's crazy how when some Traxxas models requiring a special battery first come out, they won't sell just the battery by itself. You have to buy the battery AND charger combo! What if you already have the Traxxas charger that they REQUIRE you to use to charge their batteries? Doesn't matter, you have to buy it again or wait months and months until they decide to sell the battery without the charger. Questionable business tactics at best. And these things are just to name a few, not even the tip of the iceberg.
    With all that being said, I somehow always end up back at Traxxas' doorstep. Like a junkie needing his fix. It's unfortunate, and I hate to offer positive reinforcement to a business model that I don't agree with anymore(their's used to be GREAT!), but it is what it is. Like you said, we like what we like. It's familiar and aesthetically pleasing. When I first got my revo, I spent like an hour just dropping it from various heights, just listening to the plush sounds the tires and suspension makes as it soaks up the energy. Traxxas is definitely doing something right. I hope for their sake as well as ours, that's it's sustainable and that they can adapt and evolve as times change.
    Thanks for the great videos man, I always look forward to yours!

    I almost bought the E-Revo. I ended up going for the UDR instead. I know the E-Revo is a great Basher and a pretty sweet one at that. I just was turned off by the duel steering servo's and the thought of one going out and taking out the 2nd servo. The UDR I liked because of all the detail. Granted it flips over much easier and doesn't have the control the E Revo does. I do love my Traxxas UDR and its a fun truck! I recently built a trailer and set it up to the UDR. I don't regret not owning the E-Revo and I have no doubt if I did buy it, I would probably have an amazing time with it! I seem to be more of a fan of the TRX4. I had a very NEGATIVE first experience with RC cars with a 'cheap' Chinese knock-off brand several months ago. I did, however, have just enough running time with the RC to enjoy the 'hobby' as it were. I concluded that despite the high price a true 'hobbyist' level car demands it was the path to take if I was to pursue further. After much researching, I concluded that although 'pricey' the Traxxas brand had the best all-around 'support' of any of the other brands. I now have a Rustler 4X4 VXL and a TRX4-Sport and found my aforementioned "conclusion" 100% correct and I am enjoying both immensely.

    I totally agree on most of what you said bro. The summit RTR is the best looking.. I don't own 1.i own the e-revo 1 & xmaxx +2 emaxx 3908s & 2 TEKNOs 1 mt410 and the et48.3 ... Honestly I found that arrma people have to promote how strong they are.. arrma in my experience have horrible aluminum chassis.. now with the exb with 7075 maybe the kraton chassis finally will hold up.. no brand should break on the 1st run like arrma 6s lineup does in so many videos on TH-cam. I like whatever is the most durable bashing rc's with the cheapest parts.. Traxxas is the way to go for me.. xmaxx will always be king.. buying all m2c parts is cool but it should be an "option" not a necessity for the arrma 6s lineup... Maybe the EXB ROLLER will be better.. I think it's shady that they made it as a roller. They did this to safe money obviously without electronics so I they could cover the cost of some decent aluminum that should of been on the last 4 kratons. I like all brands. This hobby is all about fun and making it your own. Some people act like they own stock in the arrma company those type of fanboys make me laugh.. save all that madness for the track and have fun bashing.. to each their own.. to be clear arrma have some awesome designs but their parts are weak and they FINALLY claim to have fixed that with this exb 7075 aluminium.. 3mm will shall see.. I want to see all rc's get better. They all break. That's the truth. Their is no best RC out there. It doesn't exist. Get what makes you smile and enjoy the hobby.

    A lot of what you said is reasoning as to why I own more Traxxas than other brands. Parts, looks, easy to work on, easy to drive. The list goes on. Doesn't mean I wouldn't buy another brand as I've got a ProBoat for example. I think a lot has also got to do with fanbase. I've got no problems with Axial, Losi (wanted to get the Rock Rey for my brother), Team associated, HPI, etc etc. but Arrmas extremists fan base are annoying to be honest. Kinda like those people who knock on your door at 7AM and say "have you found Jesus". I don't want to be part of that, not at all. I just want to have fun with RC and watch videos and read comments. The problem I have is "Arrma is the best, they never break, Traxxas sucks" when they base their ideal on hearsay about the whole lawsuit B's you read about in the comments. No one except people involved in the lawsuit even know the whole story, but think they do. If they kept their heads out of their asses and accepted all brands, I wouldn't have a problem with Arrma at all. While on topic, I watched this video once where it was a Arrma Kraton vs E-REVO, the first thing was "which flips better". They hit the halfpipe half throttle and did a flip with the Kraton landing perfect, then they did the E-Revo and launched it nearly full throttle and hitting a tree and it came down on it's head. It's like "no phucking crap it's gonna lose if you drive it in a tree" I stopped watching immediately, and made a comment about how B's their comparison was and moved on. Those are they types of things that make me avoid a brand sometimes. I'm out there to have fun, not argue about who's RC is better. Anyways, good video.

    I have the Revo, have an Outcast, both have they're individual merits. Like you after working out the bugs, my revo doesn't break. It is a blast on doing doughnuts, power sliding, and jumping. The Outcast is a nice flipper. But sloppy steering compared to the Revo. Also really noisy, the Revo's drivetrain also makes the Arrma's look like a toy.

    I have all kinds of RC, I’ve got Traxxas, Arrma, Tekno and Axial. I am not loyal because of a brand name. But I do like Traxxas I think they put out a good quality RC especially their higher end ones, and they support them well. It’s easy to find parts in hobby shops, on eBay etc. And being 🇨🇦 that matters because it’s hard to source stuff or expensive from the USA sometimes. And as you mentioned wait times. I’ve been waiting 3 weeks now for steering linkage from the USA for my Notorious. I like Tekno because they are durable yes, but probally more then that I like how smooth they drive and jump it’s quite amazing! That bug was pretty funny in the garage haha thought you were gonna loose it for a second there I might have haha

    People talk about parts availability for Arrma... I've literally never had one issue getting any part period, okay maybe for the 4s or 3s card when they're brand new? Lol they're new and popular give it time to get stocked up enough to not have a shortage, and I agree all brands break no matter what BUT dollar for dollar bang for the buck out of the box that's where Arrma wins..and of course traxxas has millions of parts they've been around for 50yrs... I respect your choice though Arrma isnt for everyone, I started with traxxas and that's why I don't run them anymore cause I bash to hard to be fixing a Rc at every single bash so I've moved on

    Hello, I watch your videos for all my Traxxas needs. I’m fairly new to the hobby. My question is do you cover the air holes on wheels and drill 3mm holes in the wheel for water drainage? I have 1 wheel with water and I know a wobbly wheel will give you heck later on. I hear people in forums with all kinds of varying degrees. Thank you and keep up the killer videos!

    • @outsourcedrc
      @outsourcedrc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont run my RC's in water so I dont cover the holes. I have tried drilling holes in the wheels and that just seems to lead to me blowing the wheels apart if I ever hit high speeds with them. I find it easier to have a set of tires just for running in the water.

    • @valeriejacoby3258
      @valeriejacoby3258 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I won’t be running in water either. I bought the e-revo used from eBay. One tire came to me with water in it. I need a new set of tires anyway but I was just seeing what the “standard” is. My standard is to stay the heck out of the wet stuff!

    Lol I usually skip through vids and actually had to hear this one out!!! Glad I did. Bc axial is my top favorite. They are built amazing , strong , very detailed, and just flat out fun to run. Now my second favorite is traxxas they build some of the most solid looking plastics that seem to really hold up. Their parts are everywhere. I’ve liked traxxas for sometime. But man does their customer support suck ass!! Traxxas thinks their shit don’t stink. Horizon is super easy to deal with, a phone call and part is on its way. Traxxas, send it in. We will determine the issue. Aside of all that. I’m debating between a summit 1/10 heard they are some crawling fun torque beast. E Revo 2.0 man it’s expensive. But I like it too. Anyhow thanks for the vids.
