"Equip" does imply the slot has to be empty. Just look at any other effects that equip things like Visit the Golden Anvil or Concealed Blade, none of them say "to an empty slot"
Yeah, I couldn't remember in the moment. I know there's some card out there, somewhere, that says 'into an open slot' but that might actually be reminder text.
@DiceCommando in the comprehensive rules they state a zone can only have its relevant card type(arm/leg/1h/2h etc) equipped only if the zone is currently empty
@@helioscomis3732 I was wondering about that when Jarl came out. If you play golden anvil and I respond at instant speed with an ice card, are you denied the equip because the slot has a frostbite in it now?
@crazyrussianman2128 yes for whatever spot you fill, golden anvil doesn't target zones so it will still allow equipping to other spots but you could deny zones with jarl instant speed frostbites
I think there will be more cards like Defend the Dragon which has Stealth and Contract and that Contract will lean into the Marked mechanic. Even though that card is for limited, marked opens up some new creative space for Contract and I think pairing contract with stealth cards opens stealth up to some designs too.
Marked enablers might be generics because other draconic heroes uses them as well. Basically, this set deck will likely consist of mark enablers cards plus their own individual class cards.
I think that Arachne definitely has potential to be good just with the mind.Games of opponents wanting to take your powerful on hits to get rid of the mark
I think the brood idea is very interesting. I mean it's essentially changing your assassin cards into situationally beneficial cards. It's effectively like hand filtering
Do note everyone: you cannot use Gambler's Gloves because you are not required to roll a die, Marionette just says select one at random, any method works, and since that's the case, you're not able to use the gloves
I was really hoping that one or two of the versions would care about contract cards. Forcing a deck to run trap cards, stealth cards, contract cards, and marking cards would have been an interesting challenge. Discarding a contract card to pump a stealth card or vice versa depending on which agent you are on the turn seemed like it would have worked.
I don't think there will be contracts cards but I think it'd be cool if there was an equipment that said something like if you play a contract card mark them
The weapons LLing with the hero is interesting in its own right? Because they have to give this version of arakni a different dagger because the old one had a dagger to his name
Couple thoughts This looks cool and I am absolutely playing it even if it's not extremely viable. I would be surprised if there isn't a Chaos attack that says "If this hits become a random Agent of Chaos" and I would also be surprised if the dagger doesn't say "If this hits, mark the opponent." While Defang the Dragon and Extinguish the Flames are of course only going to be usable in a limited format they do say both Stealth and Contract, there's no Silver on them though. It might imply that LSS are somewhat giving up on Contract as a standalone mechanic and focusing more on Stealth as Assassins main mechanic with Contract as a side thing. As for my favorite, Black Widow.
It feels like there's a 50% duty cycle on all of this and I wonder if this is not going to link to some very confusing deck designs. I do also wonder if they've just completely abandoned contract
Gamblers Gloves won't work, the effect doesn't say roll a die, it just says select at random, since you're not required to roll, you can't use the gloves
Does this count as the original Arakni being in soul like the Levia Flip when you have one of the Demi-hero araki out? As being hit with a soul banish (Nasreth attack) for your hero to vanish like OG levia can be before flip will cause some upset :L
@@theleoblazer Appreciate the response, I did think that might be the case being the most logical. I did think they would have the forethought for that to stop someone just getting an auto-loss through soul banish.

I like the way they handle the spoiler of this character now. I mean it built suspense to wait to see what the next version is

Happy holidays! Dice commando
I kind of feel the Graphene Checlicerae might be a dagger, with how other cards in this set are feeling
I think attack reactions that add contracts to stealth cards is the go.
Tarantula is incredibly exciting to me. I'm assuming that there is a flick knives reprint or play-alike to enable Marionette more.
I don't think there will be contracts cards but I think it'd be cool if there was an equipment that said something like if you play a contract card mark them
I so love this concept can not waig to play arachni
It might make equipped daggers into the token.
10 ft tall is gonna be so sick in this hero
The intelligence penalty carries over, it's not a transformation.
Because of the intelligence change? Nice catch.
Assuming they don't lose Marked when hit w/ bulletproof, then you wouldn't flip.
It was confirmed that doesn't work because arakni doesn't transform.
So no ten foot tall cheating

They all look fun, but black widow is going to make people equip gambles gloves haha
It’ll be interesting how gambler’s glove will affect the assassin’s overall play.
Gambler's Gloves doesn't work as it requires you to roll a dice, which Marionnette does not, you can choose at random another way.
I see. Thanks for the clarification.
Gamblers Gloves won't work, the effect doesn't say roll a die, it just says select at random, since you're not required to roll, you can't use the gloves

In this case, the hero is not transforming, but instead is becoming. The base Arakni is not considered as part of the soul.

As mentioned already, it's not quite the same - I didn't think of it thought at all so good catch though!
I wonder how this character will work in draft if you don't pull all the tokens
Tokens are always available to everyone; don't have to pull them luckily!
Also the pre-releases will have a pack that will contain them all, which is pretty neat.
@@DiceCommando ohhhhh that's really smart I'm looking forward to the pre-release
My knives out cards that I really love but aren't anywhere near the meta rn are itching to come out the binder
This would be the set!
