My brother and I started this past month by buying Rosetta long box. I ended up sticking with Aurora and my brother fell in love with Osillio. we're both getting ready to convert them to CC for the first time CC has been at our local armory in the past month. the guys there noticed we were willing to keep coming and playing then changed nights to be all blitz until we could get our decks ready for CC. Ended up making a video about it if you wanna watch me gush about how much fun I had.
Amazing video! As a veteran player this definitely helped me! Keep going Andrew! I feel like turtle florian is also pretty cheap to build to and can be rewarding to each blocks and managing resources
Great video! Especially the insight with the LL foresights and how it affected your weighting. My buddy and I are looking into starting FAB and noticed they have a few Army Decks for Kayo and Dash IO at our LGS for their original pricing. Looks like we’ll be pulling the trigger. Thank you!
Any suggested deck lists for these heroes? Hindsight being 20/20 and all it would be cool to see a starter and tuned deck list, maybe a slightly upgraded one as well.
I really love warriors, they're one of the coolest class in this game that i really feel like i'm playing a fighitng games since it's mostly weapon based, i play alot of hatchets and decimator dori on commoner, and play raise an army kassai and commoner kassai too, i also built a fully invested CC boltyn i plan on just sticking wtih warriors since i can interchange their equipments and they're really a dark horse class that has set gameplans on any matchups whether to go full agro or mid range i love this class really hoping the next set gives some good boost
Kassai was going to be my #4, as I really believe in warrior and it's my favorite class (as you probably know). But the environment is bad and keeps getting worse, for fundamental warriors.
@DiceCommando i agree warriors just feel to fair and upfront but honestly i still love the class and just going full agro depends on the matchup still net convincing wins
Ive played quite a bit of Dio (pre and post bans) and im not sure how much id recommend her to newer players. Getting easily fatigued in numerous matchups (especially starting out with the hero) could be a feel-bad experience. Losing is fine early on, but just running out of cards fast might make new players feel like they chose wrong for their introduction to the game. I know warrior is lacking these days but i still think dawnblade dori is a fantastic intro to the game in terms of cost and development of game fundamentals.
@DiceCommando ya the meta is pretty hostile for warrior atm no doubt. Hopefully new toys like provoke and jagged edge bring warrior over the top so we can recommend the class more confidently
Im still a new player and my first deck was DiO cuz of the armory deck. I upgraded it and brought it to my locals. While the initial gameplay is easy to grasp, it is very very hard for me to win, cuz as long my opponent just blocks, they will fatigue me. U have to learn to setup ur turns before u can even hope to win against someone that knows to just block. Out of 14 games I played locally I won one in total. Which doesn’t feel like I’m learning anything, so that’s why I’m switching to a different class. So from my personal experience I’d never recommend her to start the game with. I’ll probably pick her backup later tho when I know more about matchups
@@DiceCommando thats not what i meant with the comment, its more like im shelfing her to pick up later when im ready to actually use her. ngl it was a bit frustrating, so much so that i didnt play locals this month and am waiting till the cards for my new deck arrive. its just that the game got me hooked enough to keep trying :D
I can't stress enough the "School of Cool" point, if something looks and feels right head in. I wanted Dash when I arrived but didn't want to buy something close to LL. So went Kassai, didn't fit, went Boltyn, love Boltyn but still kept looking at Dash, went Vynsett, didn't fit. Went Dash IO and LOVED it. I should have stuck with my Deash desire and saved a lot of money. I've finally settled on Dash and Boltyn as my picks. Don't do this... run the school of cool
Katsu is a great shout, Pouncing Lynx might just be better than Mask of Momentum and the original ninja has a lot of room to grow in the meta after the Hunted release
I've been playing foe 2 mo and I've dropped some money into both Aurora and a Verdance deck. I was a little wary with Aurora because of her LL score and talent making her a possible dead end but her playstyle is a blast and I like the lightning cards so hopefully we'll get a non wizard lightning talent before she rotates.
@alexv5581 oh I know, but she's a blast to play and coming from magic learning the stack tricks with the lightning cards has been fun (definitely screwed it up a few times but it's been fun to learn the more intricate parts of the game). I only play blitz, so she was still under $100, I'm not sweatin'.
Always loved these this lists, though I do question Uzuri at number 5, especially with the absence of Bravo. Though currently Bravo isn't performing in the meta the deck has had historically far more success, teaches the most fundamental skill of Fab (block 2, swing 2) and the guardian cards are rather cheap and with Victor, Besty and Jarl with Terra and Valda on the horizon players building their collection can move a lot of those cards around. My main issue with Uzuri is how expensive she is, and is likely to continue to get with The Hunted. As a player who started with a small budget, seeing how expensive a deck gets makes starting with that hero a major downside.
I have always had Bravo at/near the top of my list, as with a Warrior. But asking a player to pick up either of those two in today's environment feel is a recipe for failure. I love Warrior, and think Bravo is a great hero. But right now I can't recommend them to a new player.
My main problem with these prices is that in Europe, there are not many sellers for this game when compared to something like one piece. So ordering a playset of a card can get even more expensive due to shipping :/
The prices I have here are TCG player and yes don't require shipping. The prices are accurate, though, as of time of this video - what's the issue you have with them?
I guess I don't see the issue. The point in the video isn't about the 'raw' value its about the comparative value. If your concern is lack of availability and shipping, then it should by and large be the same comparatively across the board. Sure, it might be 25% higher, or whatever, but the point of this video is talking prices by comparing them - not saying that you can "do it for X". I think perhaps you're missing that point here, just to - forgive the pun - make a point.
Surprised Dorothea isn’t on here. Relatively cheap, doesn’t require the expensive staples and has several viable choices. She’s getting some good tools in The Hunted, and is good in Blitz as base or QSP.
I can't recommend Warriors to new players. Warrior is my favorite class (as you probably know). But the environment is bad, and keeps getting worse, for fundamental warriors.
I think Dori finds herself in close to the same price range as brutes. Cards like Blade Flurry, Glint, Spoils/Unsheathed, and of course the Glistening Steelblade are staple and will ding you a bit. Still nothing compared to decks that want e-strikes and C&C.
It’s still too expensive. I’m hoping to maybe get into it when more armory decks are available and maybe prices for staples go down. Also, unfortunately, nobody really plays in my county, it seems…
I chose prism after I couldn’t trade my CF Footsteps lol. I wanted a hero that didn’t have a high living legend points. At first was Aurora and finally I chose prism. Was that a good choice?
I'm the lone warrior player in my entire area, and I keep trying to get new players to try them, but they keep hearing me complain about how bad they are lol
Aurora is a good addition to the list, with the First Strike entry point. But she plays far more like ninja than a Runeblade, and that can be difficult to teach fundamentals.
i am *really* not convinced uzuri is a good beginner choice, both between her power and usability being heavily connected to her good/expensive cards as well as her very intricate playlines to play her decently. Would personally rather put kassai or dori in that spot. Alternatively Guardian is great for new players, so either bravo or victor. Otherwise a good starter, that is sadly close to LL and a duplicate class, so very much not a good fit for the list, is Hanabi og Dash. really linear/consistent that still allows for decisions, ridiculous power for being a deck you can build for like 50 bucks out of mostly bright lights bulk, boosting is fun (Which is entirely unbiased and objectively true)
I can't recommend OG Dash (She was last year's #1) because of how close she is to LL. Kassai and Bravo are legit good choices, but they are so bad into the meta right now that I see nothing but frustration on the horizon for a new player.
I wouldnt recommend DIO to new players, it is a very high skill deck, I think Ira is number one for me. Easy upgrade path with the basic free deck you get and ninja is always a good class to play
Blitz needs to stop being referred to as “The Entry Point.” The format is too swingy and random, and it favors raw aggro, and it enables blow out do nothing games. I’ve seen many players quit because every blitz game was over in two turns with no interaction. Even a budget deck in CC gets to actually play the game
I would never recommend somebody to start with dash I/O. She's way too difficult of a deck to do well with. Something like Aurora, ira, or Kayo are good starting heroes. They're simple enough to win games with as a new player while also having enough player growth capacity to do better as you learn the deck.
@DiceCommando I feel like my comment should have been phrased in a kinder way, I apologize for that. I liked the video overall! The Dash I/O part just worried me that it might hinder some newer players rather than help

Really fun list! Always appreciate how much thought you put into these lists. :)

Indeed, I'm doing some videos for this this year (for 3x of the heroes, Kayo - Aurora - DIO).
They aren't published yet so aren't linked. I have to spread out videos, if you drop them all at the same time the TH-cams doesn't maximize them.

I started with Kayo and slowly completed my blitz deck, then CC and of course, an almost all foil commoner deck :) Go knuckleheads!
Sounds like you're having a blast!

I question whether someone picking up Warrior would stick with the game after running into today's Meta.

Hi, how about azalea?
Ranger isn't the best entry point, but again - if she speaks to you? Rule of Cool!
@@DiceCommando Hello, do you have good budget deck tech for uzuri?
Aurora is a good addition to the list, with the First Strike entry point. But she plays far more like ninja than a Runeblade, and that can be difficult to teach fundamentals.
Fundamentals of Runeblade or of the game?
@ Of Runeblade, mostly, but she doesn’t really block either, and that, in my opinion, is one of the key facets of game fundamentals.
