My issue is no matter what I'm running I want it to be what I was sold. Don't sell me a game that you say is gonna look fabulous ! Run amazingly! And then I get it install it and it's not much more then a shell for pay to play . And on top of that the creatures are in my game even tho I refuse to buy Bob's whatever . If I wanted the creatures I'd have bought them. I play single player not into PVP. So I'm not in the majority. And the lack of clarity on anything WC does is astounding. All that said the game has so much potential. I really hope they get their poop in a group soon or sell it to somebody that wants to develop it.

I have RTX4070 and I lost similar fps on the Center. ASA AB has too much visual noise from bad lighting and even from placed assets with bad textures. It's too chaotic in terms of composition. ASE AB is a masterpiece.
Rushed sounds about right! Its a real catch 22 for them. Wait to long to get new maps out, player counts fall, rush and get maps out, player count falls........They really need a win soon!
For me it's been that I can't get old friends to join unless they have at least 8GB VRAM and DLSS (one poor sod with a 2060 joined and turns out Ark hates 6GB VRAM), those that do join still struggle to run it, then we get sub-par map remakes like Aberration and the Centre. People wouldn't mind some extra purchases if it was of good quality.
I own a ROG ally and I get 5-10 fps more , I used to only get 20-25fps and I am now obtaining 30fps on performance mode and turbo mode I get 40 fps, that 20-25 was on turbo mode back then btw and performance would get me 14 fps

Same.. on The Island AND aberration... we freeze so much since the update and patches... and the latest patch tonight didn't improve anything ! It's just bearly playable, very dangerous if you want to tame, kill or fly with the rock drake
PS5, Played about 18 hours on official. Performance on Abb is choppy when alot of action is happening. Building textures look not completely rendered. The Island is worse. Terrain lags real bad as you move. As you see the ground but no rocks, trees, then you slow your flyer and bang, everything renders. This keeps happening as you travel. Honestly, it feels like a 25% reduction in performance from a PS5 point of view
All I know is that Friday night it seemed fine after the patch and even foliage was not that bad, but yesterday's patch caused glitchiness....hopefully that gets fixed as the graphics right now make it unplayable with the jumping and messing around it does. Good stuff buddy!

Pop in on dinos is ridiculous too. Magic spinos n such. Lighting is f'ed. PS5 textures load constantly. You would think all the ark players they've hired over the years would tell them don't release it!! Lol
Oh My God I thought I was the only one having issues playing ASA on the Xbox, could still be my internet connection, but as you mentioned, I don't have performance issues with other games. I love Ark but have been seriously disappointed with the performance from splotches, rendering, and my sound will start popping that effects the counsel itself and I have to restart the counsel. Hopefully it gets better soon.
The pop in at your feet has always been a thing if you turn off foliage motion, for me at least. Floating rocks and grass too. Turning foliage motion back on with good distance/multiplier will fix it all but the cost of FPS
I played ase on a series x for years. Ran great. The problem with the series x is has basically a 6800 graphics card in it. Its not the latest gen graphics card. But just before asa dropped i switched to pc gaming. I specifically built a pc strong enough to push asa. My pc has a 7900xtx in it. Pre aberration launch i had to run this game in 1080p on mid to high settings to get 60 to 80 fps. Post aberration launch i was able to switch to 1440p and maintain the same graphics settings and getting 100 to 120 fps. I haven't jumped to the other maps to see the performance change. On top of that i run amd fluid motion frames to double my fps. I always run fog and cloud commands with stat fps so i always see my fps while playing. Stat fps on ark doesn't register afmf but the amd software does. In my opinion aberration was the best map launch asa has had so far. I hope they continue to optimize this game so its a better experience for all. Happy gaming! Love your videos!

The thing that angers me so much about this ASA Aberration map release, is the incompetence and the pure laziness out of Wildcard/Snail Games. In their Community Crunch 398, they stated "Our dedicated partners - who have been working on the Center while we focus on Scorched Earth - need more time to make sure it meets our expectations, and yours". That's great and all, but what were they doing after they finished with Scorched Earth and weren't working on the Center? Considering that Center released AFTER Scorched Earth did, to me it seems like were doing absolutely nothing, because Aberration is a steaming load of dogshit. I 100% agree with you about "wanting this game to be good", but I'm not sure Wildcard/Snail have the will, strategy, IQ, you name it, to actually turn the game around. And just so we're all aware I'm running on ALL low settings, all the extra quality settings are turned off, I've used about 10 different combinations of commands to make performance better and I'm still struggling to maintain 40-60 FPS and it's not like my PC is bad: cpu: i7 12700k, gpu: 3070ti, ram: 32gb ddr5 6000mhz, my System(Windows 11) and the game are both installed on a Samsung 990 PRO M.2
I went looking on Google because I hadn't played for a couple months, and then I came back and notice a huge performance increase. I was playing at about 50-70fps, and now I am hitting 100-110 fps easily (without upscaling or frame gen).
I don't know about everyone else but I sure it. I'm now getting 90-100 fps on The Center and 50-60 fps on Aberration. Before the update I was getting like 40-50 fps on The Center.
Nothing will look different. Frame interpolation is ai frame generation. The performance is in fps for people who did not have it. Unfortunately, nvidia was disabled and replaced with amd frame gen, which is worse. If you are a nvidia user, you got a performance loss instead.
My issue is that ghosting around my character and the lighting flickering it hurts my eyes, and I get kind of dizzy Feels bad idk what to do at this point
Big performance increase for me on steam. I have a 3060ti and I would not get any more than 30fps on the beach. When I moved it would plummet to 20fps or below. Basically unplayable. Now, it gives me up to 50fps and consistently 35fos everywhere. Overall it's much much smoother on pc.
@airrunner85 just wondering i got the 16gb and yeah it's struggled sometimes but even lowering the setting as far down as they could go but seemed like it stayed at 9gb of usage. Mighta just been me. Idk what it's like now
My previous 3 ASA map average FPS was around 40fps. Last week after I downloaded the latest Windoze update, I could hit 60fps on the center map. On Aberration I am averaging between 110 and 124fps. I made no changes to my system or game settings which are at max. I have an AMD 7950x3d cpu with an AMD 7900xtx gpu system that I built myself. I thought that optimizations were not implemented yet by Wildcard. Maybe I am just lucky. I haven't really noticed any improvement in game play but Aberration is so dark most of the time its hard to tell. Not a single crash or lagging noted. By far the best ASA map drop so far for me.
For me it is a downgrade. I'm running a 7800x3d+4080S and before I could play on the Island on high settings. Now with Aberration update it is much worse. FPS is not much down but it feels a lot of more stuttering.
Many forgot how good ASE graphics are on PS/Xbox. Take a day off to go back and play ASE and you will be blown away on how good it looks in 2024. To be honest, I never liked ASE graphics until I played ASA, it made me realize how much I took the game for granted and I will 100% never return to ASA, or even ASE. I'm ready for bigger, better pvpve games at this point. Ark is so boring in 2024 and it took 5 minutes on ab to come to this conclusion. Just, imagine if the last day you spent on this earth was spent playing Ark. How depressing would that be man. 😂😂😂
AMD frame gen is working for me. 7800XT Normally on the Center map I would get 40-50 on High settings and now getting 80-100 average. Doesn't seem like it has been as optimized though like FSR3.1 in Avatar. Room for improvement for sure but step toward the right direction.
Crossplay is the worst thing to happen to Ark. Consoles can't handle long distance rendering like a gaming PC. I remember using my spyglass to see Rex's roaming Carno Island on The Center. On a happy note, the AMD update greatly enhanced fps and detail on my old 1060 gaming laptop. It's now close to my gaming PC with a 2080 Ti.
Glad to hear you got some boost!! I have mixed feelings on crossplay. As a console player it is cool to be able to play with my friends on PC, however, I don't like that our performance could hold back PC either...but I also don't like our performance not mattering either!
The foliage update, not upgrade, sucks. I get lost in the weeds all the time, and once something you are chasing hits the weeds, it's basically gone. They went way overboard on foliage.
your problem with running ASA on the xbox is the same thing that people who ran ASE on xbox one had. the technology simply hasn't caught up to what they're trying to do - and ASA is still largely in early access, so a lot of the optimization is going to come later. I remember playing ASE on my budget PC back in 2015, and everything looked like claymation.
I hear that! If it can't run on console, then either offer it a lower settings or don't put it on console, because I paid the same price as everyone else to play it and am getting a lesser experience. Meanwhile; I am have played many games that run really well and look amazing on console, so I know it can be done.
@@Nerdboy81 I was too at first. I'm playing on the Xbox Series S, so i'm ecstatic that I can even use mods in the first place. I was nervous that some of them would screw some things up with how the game works, but most of them vastly improve the game and I couldn't play it without them now. There are some that I still won't get though, anything that has to do with the building system I won't even touch.
Theres definitely a decrease in performance now compared to when i started playing abb last friday. I had a frame rate of 12fps in red zone at certain points. I have a series x
we gotta stop the stereotype of console players being plebs I've seen console players do better than pc players why can't people just understand people have varying budgets its ok to play on xbox or PlayStation as long as the developer and publisher did their jobs right really the only reason i have a pc so i don't have to pay to play online but xbox and playstation are honestly perfectly fine to play most games on people just like to hate
Getting a console makes sense of you’re sharing it with other people (ie my siblings and I growing up). Once you get some independence though it makes so much more sense to switch to pc. Spend 1.25x what you did on a brand new console and you can get a functional pc which you can use as a workstation and for gaming with comparable performance and the most importantly the ability to upgrade over time which you can’t do with a console. Skyrim and Ark pushed me towards getting a pc due to mods + performance and it’s definitely been worth it
@@Middy666 honestly it doesn't matter what age you are if you enjoy playing on what you play on and don't feel the need to upgrade than don't and also Xbox and PS are plug-n-play consoles it takes more than just plug in and play for a pc which aside from pc prices deter people from buying pc i love pc and think it is the best but understand people have varying budgets ideas of fun and all that it is ok to play on console for as long as you want we all forget back during the ps2 days pc didn't dominate the gaming market consoles did so that's another reason also for some people they just want to just play games for the sheer fun and you don't need a decent or good pc for that just some friends weather online or offline and a console
I know that even in this comment and others, PC will also be looked at as superior (and it is) but budget wise console should be a simple plug and play and lets go!
As RTX4090 owner, it's a sh*tfest. Graphic glitches, flickering, crashes, bugs and even causing me the same nausea as when wearing VR goggles with some games. If I keep playing I can imagine getting a headache. I had high hopes, but wildcard: this is pathetic!
I think what console players are going to have to start to realise is that any game that is built on unreal engine 5 will not run amazing on consoles. This is due to unreal engine 5 being released only in 2022 and consoles are a lot older than that so they don't have the hardware to truly power it. PCs are made different which is why we have so many settings we can turn off and turn on to even optimize on lower end hardware. Unfortunately unreal engine 5 even cripples my 4090 in a lot of games when maxed at 4k in the most beautiful of games. "The closest equivalent graphics card to PS5 and Xbox X GPU is a Radeon RX6700XT" This is what my daughter has and has to use medium settings across the board at 1440p and turning volumetric clouds off just to get a 50fps average. This goes to show consoles really do not have the grunt to power a lot off modern titles now.
I agree and disagree......Yes console is less graphics, however, I have seen some amazing graphical output even on the last gen! If you are going to put a game on console, I expect it to be able to run on console.
@@Nerdboy81 This is true, I was at college today discussing this same topic and was accused of console bashing which I wasn't doing intentionally, I was explaining how with Giants who make Farming Simulator games another franchise I play decided for the new iteration to drop support for PS4 and Xbox one so they can improve the 3d engine as they were being pegged back by last gen. Giants took a lot of flack for this because there are fewer people who own the newer gen consoles and upset a lot of people. But companies cant optimize for all platforms flawlessly. But I do agree that if if is released on console it should run it, but I also think that console versions should also have settings baked in that can be turned on/off to either improve fidelity or performance as people who play PvP will want higher frames and PVE will want the better fidelity
so lil story time ive some really extream LOD (pop in) issues in cyberpunk that i havent been able to resolve. Forums say thats ever since the 2.1 update i cant really verifiy that since i took a long break from playing that game. Now i go back to ASA and theres also a tone of popin right infront of me and im like did my CPU really die again? ive an 13900K so its not impossible that this cpu also died and is giving me those kinda issues in games... i retested my cpu and it seems stable and everything so thank you for bringing it to my attention that console also has those problems since the update cuz i would have probably sent in my CPU again XD
just to comment on something you mentioned about how on ase there seemed to be a lot more bad things then on asa. This has been an issue since the release of asa. spawns of everything are WAY down. a quick and easy example to see for yourself is the wyvern trench on scorched earth. on ase the wyvern trench was full of wild wyvern and something you would initially worry about venturing into . on asa you can pretty much fly a pt in there, steal your eggs and get out with less then a handful of wyvern chasing you. and lie i say this is the case with any wild dino spawn. id also say even with a powerhouse of a rig, the game does not look good. Aberration especially looks awful and anyone saying it looks beautiful is eating a lot of copium on the subject
Running a lot better in general on my 7900xtx (42 fps max on epic/high settings), however I still get occasional crashes (3-4 in 12 hrs of playing) and I still do get occasional dips into the 20s. Hope they get the frame gen in for nvidia, planning on upgrading to a 4090 soonish
i play on series x with an oled and my girl plays on pc with 3080ti.... you are CRAZY if you dont see performance and visual upgrades in ASA with the update. water is better, lighting is better, shadows are better. everything is so much more crispy. TBHalmost everything online regarding Ark is usually not true. Most tips or console commands you find on reddit or in videos are flat out wrong. The Ark community seems to make a lot of assumptions on things or just leave things out of their thinking. Just play the game and dont listen to people. youll have a waaay better time. dont listen to tips on taming or finding creatures. Youre losing the immersion and getting bad advice all at the same time.

From what I can tell it’s an upgrade if you don’t have a 40 series nvidia card since they already had frame generation. If you have a 40 series card then it’s a downgrade
I noticed the foliage popping in often as well. Playing on PC, not running a 4070 either. Still saw a substantial performance upgrade. Higher graphic settings with 20fps gain on average. Optimization is bad for PC as well tho.
I play on the series s and it looks more worse then on the series x. I was so hyped when I heared about the 80% performance update. I feel the difference but it is still to blurry and everything....
On PS5, Played the island, the lag is poor, every time I’m near an argy the game lags horrifically, almost to the point of it being unplayable, the floor fails to render full whenever I enter my base too, which again, causes horrific lag
The dlc dinos need to be disabled by default at least on single player with the option to turn them on if you purchased them. I have no intentions of buying the pyromane and want them gone from the maps. Annoying enough to see them on the wyvern trench in scorched. Now they are just walking around on abb.

Thats what I have been saying....I have a lot of games that run really good on the past gen console. Its unfortunate this game isnt better optimized....Fingers crossed that the future performance updates have a big impact!
On PC when the update first came out on aberration I was playing low settings getting like 30-40 fps and like the next day I had to update it and I can now run HIGH settings with 40-50 gps with frame drops to around 30 from time to time. Also I have a RTX 3050, 32GB ram, and i5-10400f
Upgrade? Lol My game runs like trash after the "upgrade"and seems to get worse after each update since. There's been 3 or 4 more patches since abb dropped. Every map is lagging, stuttering, render issues, more disconnects. This is absurd.
Yay, console footage, can anyone confirm if vsync is now available in console settings to help screen tear? Hope this is all fixed soon, this update has really fouled things up, can you imagine what will happen when the whole engine is upgraded....
I play on the Series S and I’ve crashed (only on Ab) 30 times today. After re-joining the server the colors were all messed up. Pitch black shadows covered the map. Making me have to close the game a re-open it. I know I’m on a weaker console and I’m not asking for 4K graphics I’m just asking to play the game. Also when your comparing performance you should use the command ‘Stat fps’ so you can see your fps

Hopped on AB last night and it looked like shit. I'm on a low end gaming laptop and run a custom setting of medium, high and epic. But even changing the settings did not help, only made things look worse.
Well hopefully a patch or something comes soon to help those who are having issues! I am hopeful for the unreal upgrade in Oct - Nov will be what I need!
I got lot of freeze actually and in game a bug who stuck you and kill you and you cant take black your loot it just despawn take m’y inventory 4 Times in the same day. I just ragequit
If everything is popping in at your feet, it’s not there. Was there an option to activate AMD ? Or is it supposed to just happen ? My game will not stop crashing when i move in and out of inventory, fast travel or if i sneeze the wrong way. On my PS5 slim nothing has been done, it’s worse after this last three updates.

My thought was, if they had released ASA with 1 new map to start with.....It would have been a lot better! Maybe then release the old maps while the community is loving the NEW map.....Hindsight is always 20/20.
Thats probably part of the problem.....As a remaster promising better graphics not being able to run on mid tier devices or even consoles....especially when ASE ran well.

As someone with a 4080, I lost a good 5-10FPS at all times losing the proper DLSS Frame-gen, and Aberration looks horrendous and rushed.

Cartoon on vivid is how ps5 scorched looks( with hitching lag and random ground rendering) turned off vsync it helped a little

Oh My God I thought I was the only one having issues playing ASA on the Xbox, could still be my internet connection, but as you mentioned, I don't have performance issues with other games. I love Ark but have been seriously disappointed with the performance from splotches, rendering, and my sound will start popping that effects the counsel itself and I have to restart the counsel. Hopefully it gets better soon.
The pop in at your feet has always been a thing if you turn off foliage motion, for me at least. Floating rocks and grass too. Turning foliage motion back on with good distance/multiplier will fix it all but the cost of FPS
The colors look excessive. Too sharp of a border between colors if that makes sense.

I played ase on a series x for years. Ran great. The problem with the series x is has basically a 6800 graphics card in it. Its not the latest gen graphics card. But just before asa dropped i switched to pc gaming. I specifically built a pc strong enough to push asa. My pc has a 7900xtx in it. Pre aberration launch i had to run this game in 1080p on mid to high settings to get 60 to 80 fps. Post aberration launch i was able to switch to 1440p and maintain the same graphics settings and getting 100 to 120 fps. I haven't jumped to the other maps to see the performance change. On top of that i run amd fluid motion frames to double my fps. I always run fog and cloud commands with stat fps so i always see my fps while playing. Stat fps on ark doesn't register afmf but the amd software does. In my opinion aberration was the best map launch asa has had so far. I hope they continue to optimize this game so its a better experience for all. Happy gaming! Love your videos!

The thing that angers me so much about this ASA Aberration map release, is the incompetence and the pure laziness out of Wildcard/Snail Games. In their Community Crunch 398, they stated "Our dedicated partners - who have been working on the Center while we focus on Scorched Earth - need more time to make sure it meets our expectations, and yours". That's great and all, but what were they doing after they finished with Scorched Earth and weren't working on the Center? Considering that Center released AFTER Scorched Earth did, to me it seems like were doing absolutely nothing, because Aberration is a steaming load of dogshit. I 100% agree with you about "wanting this game to be good", but I'm not sure Wildcard/Snail have the will, strategy, IQ, you name it, to actually turn the game around.
And just so we're all aware I'm running on ALL low settings, all the extra quality settings are turned off, I've used about 10 different combinations of commands to make performance better and I'm still struggling to maintain 40-60 FPS and it's not like my PC is bad:
cpu: i7 12700k, gpu: 3070ti, ram: 32gb ddr5 6000mhz, my System(Windows 11) and the game are both installed on a Samsung 990 PRO M.2

The trees, shrooms & grass periodically look like floating triangles 😔 hopefully they add a patch...then another patch for that patch

I went looking on Google because I hadn't played for a couple months, and then I came back and notice a huge performance increase. I was playing at about 50-70fps, and now I am hitting 100-110 fps easily (without upscaling or frame gen).

I don't know about everyone else but I sure it. I'm now getting 90-100 fps on The Center and 50-60 fps on Aberration. Before the update I was getting like 40-50 fps on The Center.

Nothing will look different. Frame interpolation is ai frame generation. The performance is in fps for people who did not have it. Unfortunately, nvidia was disabled and replaced with amd frame gen, which is worse. If you are a nvidia user, you got a performance loss instead.
Noted....Yeah I should start measuring FPS as well.....I have never really cared about FPS as long as it is smooth and never drops below 30FPS.
The sheer amount of distance culling really breaks immersion for me. Its super annoying seeing grass just poof into existence every couple metres

Big performance increase for me on steam. I have a 3060ti and I would not get any more than 30fps on the beach. When I moved it would plummet to 20fps or below. Basically unplayable. Now, it gives me up to 50fps and consistently 35fos everywhere. Overall it's much much smoother on pc.

@airrunner85 just wondering i got the 16gb and yeah it's struggled sometimes but even lowering the setting as far down as they could go but seemed like it stayed at 9gb of usage. Mighta just been me. Idk what it's like now
My previous 3 ASA map average FPS was around 40fps. Last week after I downloaded the latest Windoze update, I could hit 60fps on the center map. On Aberration I am averaging between 110 and 124fps. I made no changes to my system or game settings which are at max. I have an AMD 7950x3d cpu with an AMD 7900xtx gpu system that I built myself. I thought that optimizations were not implemented yet by Wildcard. Maybe I am just lucky. I haven't really noticed any improvement in game play but Aberration is so dark most of the time its hard to tell. Not a single crash or lagging noted. By far the best ASA map drop so far for me.

For me it is a downgrade. I'm running a 7800x3d+4080S and before I could play on the Island on high settings. Now with Aberration update it is much worse. FPS is not much down but it feels a lot of more stuttering.

Many forgot how good ASE graphics are on PS/Xbox. Take a day off to go back and play ASE and you will be blown away on how good it looks in 2024. To be honest, I never liked ASE graphics until I played ASA, it made me realize how much I took the game for granted and I will 100% never return to ASA, or even ASE. I'm ready for bigger, better pvpve games at this point. Ark is so boring in 2024 and it took 5 minutes on ab to come to this conclusion. Just, imagine if the last day you spent on this earth was spent playing Ark. How depressing would that be man. 😂😂😂

AMD frame gen is working for me. 7800XT Normally on the Center map I would get 40-50 on High settings and now getting 80-100 average.
Doesn't seem like it has been as optimized though like FSR3.1 in Avatar. Room for improvement for sure but step toward the right direction.

Crossplay is the worst thing to happen to Ark. Consoles can't handle long distance rendering like a gaming PC. I remember using my spyglass to see Rex's roaming Carno Island on The Center. On a happy note, the AMD update greatly enhanced fps and detail on my old 1060 gaming laptop. It's now close to my gaming PC with a 2080 Ti.
Glad to hear you got some boost!! I have mixed feelings on crossplay. As a console player it is cool to be able to play with my friends on PC, however, I don't like that our performance could hold back PC either...but I also don't like our performance not mattering either!

My friends and i are always bitching about the folliage.
The foliage update, not upgrade, sucks. I get lost in the weeds all the time, and once something you are chasing hits the weeds, it's basically gone. They went way overboard on foliage.
The foliage is out of control. LOL. If they just turn that down a bit and maybe turned down the ground foliage, it would help performance.
My biggest wish is someone creating a clone of ARK and actually caring about the game. Wildcard and Snail is not it.
Maybe they will be aquired or sold and it can get better or maybe they figure it out along the way!
your problem with running ASA on the xbox is the same thing that people who ran ASE on xbox one had. the technology simply hasn't caught up to what they're trying to do - and ASA is still largely in early access, so a lot of the optimization is going to come later.
I remember playing ASE on my budget PC back in 2015, and everything looked like claymation.
I hear that! If it can't run on console, then either offer it a lower settings or don't put it on console, because I paid the same price as everyone else to play it and am getting a lesser experience. Meanwhile; I am have played many games that run really well and look amazing on console, so I know it can be done.
Just the way the menus work in game for controller proves this game isn't console friendly. It's so hard to navigate around on console in menus
It really is hard to maneuver. It took my like 5-7 hours and help from a viewer to be able to transfer inventory by holding A (on ASE).
I'm just irritated that all the mods I was using are broken now and I have to wait for them to be updated and fixed.
Thats a bummer, I have not really delved into mods much on ARK or any game for that matter, I don't know why but I get nervous using mods.
@@Nerdboy81 I was too at first. I'm playing on the Xbox Series S, so i'm ecstatic that I can even use mods in the first place. I was nervous that some of them would screw some things up with how the game works, but most of them vastly improve the game and I couldn't play it without them now. There are some that I still won't get though, anything that has to do with the building system I won't even touch.
Theres definitely a decrease in performance now compared to when i started playing abb last friday. I had a frame rate of 12fps in red zone at certain points. I have a series x

I have 4070 TI SUPER & CPU i7 14k and getting around 120-140 fps on high epic settings but it feels like 60 fps.
Because input latency is terrible, makes the game feel sluggish

Getting a console makes sense of you’re sharing it with other people (ie my siblings and I growing up). Once you get some independence though it makes so much more sense to switch to pc. Spend 1.25x what you did on a brand new console and you can get a functional pc which you can use as a workstation and for gaming with comparable performance and the most importantly the ability to upgrade over time which you can’t do with a console. Skyrim and Ark pushed me towards getting a pc due to mods + performance and it’s definitely been worth it
@@Middy666 honestly it doesn't matter what age you are if you enjoy playing on what you play on and don't feel the need to upgrade than don't and also Xbox and PS are plug-n-play consoles it takes more than just plug in and play for a pc which aside from pc prices deter people from buying pc i love pc and think it is the best but understand people have varying budgets ideas of fun and all that it is ok to play on console for as long as you want we all forget back during the ps2 days pc didn't dominate the gaming market consoles did so that's another reason also for some people they just want to just play games for the sheer fun and you don't need a decent or good pc for that just some friends weather online or offline and a console

As RTX4090 owner, it's a sh*tfest. Graphic glitches, flickering, crashes, bugs and even causing me the same nausea as when wearing VR goggles with some games. If I keep playing I can imagine getting a headache. I had high hopes, but wildcard: this is pathetic!

I think what console players are going to have to start to realise is that any game that is built on unreal engine 5 will not run amazing on consoles. This is due to unreal engine 5 being released only in 2022 and consoles are a lot older than that so they don't have the hardware to truly power it. PCs are made different which is why we have so many settings we can turn off and turn on to even optimize on lower end hardware. Unfortunately unreal engine 5 even cripples my 4090 in a lot of games when maxed at 4k in the most beautiful of games. "The closest equivalent graphics card to PS5 and Xbox X GPU is a Radeon RX6700XT" This is what my daughter has and has to use medium settings across the board at 1440p and turning volumetric clouds off just to get a 50fps average. This goes to show consoles really do not have the grunt to power a lot off modern titles now.
I agree and disagree......Yes console is less graphics, however, I have seen some amazing graphical output even on the last gen! If you are going to put a game on console, I expect it to be able to run on console.
@@Nerdboy81 This is true, I was at college today discussing this same topic and was accused of console bashing which I wasn't doing intentionally, I was explaining how with Giants who make Farming Simulator games another franchise I play decided for the new iteration to drop support for PS4 and Xbox one so they can improve the 3d engine as they were being pegged back by last gen. Giants took a lot of flack for this because there are fewer people who own the newer gen consoles and upset a lot of people. But companies cant optimize for all platforms flawlessly. But I do agree that if if is released on console it should run it, but I also think that console versions should also have settings baked in that can be turned on/off to either improve fidelity or performance as people who play PvP will want higher frames and PVE will want the better fidelity
so lil story time ive some really extream LOD (pop in) issues in cyberpunk that i havent been able to resolve. Forums say thats ever since the 2.1 update i cant really verifiy that since i took a long break from playing that game. Now i go back to ASA and theres also a tone of popin right infront of me and im like did my CPU really die again? ive an 13900K so its not impossible that this cpu also died and is giving me those kinda issues in games... i retested my cpu and it seems stable and everything so thank you for bringing it to my attention that console also has those problems since the update cuz i would have probably sent in my CPU again XD

As I said in the video, I created the tallest character I could because I know that this has been an issue since the Island.
just to comment on something you mentioned about how on ase there seemed to be a lot more bad things then on asa. This has been an issue since the release of asa. spawns of everything are WAY down. a quick and easy example to see for yourself is the wyvern trench on scorched earth. on ase the wyvern trench was full of wild wyvern and something you would initially worry about venturing into . on asa you can pretty much fly a pt in there, steal your eggs and get out with less then a handful of wyvern chasing you. and lie i say this is the case with any wild dino spawn.
id also say even with a powerhouse of a rig, the game does not look good. Aberration especially looks awful and anyone saying it looks beautiful is eating a lot of copium on the subject
I do get shade at time for being critical, however, I do think I have been fair. Aberration definitely was different spawns of bad creatures!
Running a lot better in general on my 7900xtx (42 fps max on epic/high settings), however I still get occasional crashes (3-4 in 12 hrs of playing) and I still do get occasional dips into the 20s. Hope they get the frame gen in for nvidia, planning on upgrading to a 4090 soonish

i play on series x with an oled and my girl plays on pc with 3080ti.... you are CRAZY if you dont see performance and visual upgrades in ASA with the update. water is better, lighting is better, shadows are better. everything is so much more crispy. TBHalmost everything online regarding Ark is usually not true. Most tips or console commands you find on reddit or in videos are flat out wrong. The Ark community seems to make a lot of assumptions on things or just leave things out of their thinking. Just play the game and dont listen to people. youll have a waaay better time. dont listen to tips on taming or finding creatures. Youre losing the immersion and getting bad advice all at the same time.

From what I can tell it’s an upgrade if you don’t have a 40 series nvidia card since they already had frame generation. If you have a 40 series card then it’s a downgrade

We did. My computers went from 35-40fps to 60-65fps. One pc has a 2080super the other has a 3060ti.

I noticed the foliage popping in often as well. Playing on PC, not running a 4070 either. Still saw a substantial performance upgrade. Higher graphic settings with 20fps gain on average. Optimization is bad for PC as well tho.

I play it with the performance mod in the store and the comands but it definitely messes up the view range by alot

I play on the series s and it looks more worse then on the series x. I was so hyped when I heared about the 80% performance update. I feel the difference but it is still to blurry and everything....

On PS5, Played the island, the lag is poor, every time I’m near an argy the game lags horrifically, almost to the point of it being unplayable, the floor fails to render full whenever I enter my base too, which again, causes horrific lag

The dlc dinos need to be disabled by default at least on single player with the option to turn them on if you purchased them. I have no intentions of buying the pyromane and want them gone from the maps. Annoying enough to see them on the wyvern trench in scorched. Now they are just walking around on abb.

On PC when the update first came out on aberration I was playing low settings getting like 30-40 fps and like the next day I had to update it and I can now run HIGH settings with 40-50 gps with frame drops to around 30 from time to time.
Also I have a RTX 3050, 32GB ram, and i5-10400f

My game runs like trash after the "upgrade"and seems to get worse after each update since. There's been 3 or 4 more patches since abb dropped.
Every map is lagging, stuttering, render issues, more disconnects. This is absurd.

I play on the Series S and I’ve crashed (only on Ab) 30 times today. After re-joining the server the colors were all messed up. Pitch black shadows covered the map. Making me have to close the game a re-open it. I know I’m on a weaker console and I’m not asking for 4K graphics I’m just asking to play the game. Also when your comparing performance you should use the command ‘Stat fps’ so you can see your fps

Hopped on AB last night and it looked like shit. I'm on a low end gaming laptop and run a custom setting of medium, high and epic. But even changing the settings did not help, only made things look worse.
I have this sense it was a little rushed to get it out.

I got lot of freeze actually and in game a bug who stuck you and kill you and you cant take black your loot it just despawn take m’y inventory 4 Times in the same day. I just ragequit

If everything is popping in at your feet, it’s not there. Was there an option to activate AMD ? Or is it supposed to just happen ? My game will not stop crashing when i move in and out of inventory, fast travel or if i sneeze the wrong way. On my PS5 slim nothing has been done, it’s worse after this last three updates.

my game looks like shit, even on max shadows are flickering and so is the grass i dont know what it is but the big youtubers have such a pretty game and then i look at mine and im like...what the hell am i doing wrong? i cant play the game like this, anyone knows the issue?
I concur! I see others screen shots and game and I am like, WTF!!!! LOL....However, I know I may not see the top of the line graphics on xbox but it should still look good!
i have lost dlss from my graphic settings, my game looks terrible compared to pre update, im having issues on aberration, definite downgrade for me mwah mwah, and oh ye the water now looks shit

Seems like things got wose with the lag and rubber banding its honestly incredible how we are still playing this trash lol they should of just improved ase and give more content or actually work on ark 2
My thought was, if they had released ASA with 1 new map to start with.....It would have been a lot better! Maybe then release the old maps while the community is loving the NEW map.....Hindsight is always 20/20.

It runs well....I don't think it looks real great.
Even with a 4070 súper I’m laggy and mi fps don’t go over 60 with lows of at least 30 fps 🗿
Also I have to mention that I have 60 fps but those are super inestable fps

dont worry i have a mid + pc and i get fuckin 40 fps average. The game runs like complete dogshit
Thats probably part of the problem.....As a remaster promising better graphics not being able to run on mid tier devices or even consoles....especially when ASE ran well.
@@Nerdboy81 update: since last patch i get 80-90 fps on WQHD. On full hd i get 100-140. So way better, still feels a bit stuttery but better than before.
It looks and runs worse for me as well.

@@Nerdboy81 yeah man this is the sec time last time was on a online sever and a buddy of mine shut the server down so i had to redo this build on solo player and taken 6 months and now back to alot of fixing and rebuilding but i am waiting on a update to see if it fixes the issue
