It's not everyone's cup of tea. It's generally a more industrial look. I'm currently working on a shower, and I'm using a type of microcement called stucco, which creates a more interesting look. The steel trowel leaves carbon marks on all the high points, so it creates a much more visually interesting pattern.

No sería mejor lijar con maquina orbital en vez de a mano?
Did you have to do the grade towards the drain before smartcrete?
Can you do Microcement on Kerdiboard?

Felt like you never burnished properly. Like at all. You could do this in two coats if you burnish properly.
All these layers? Looks really unnecessary waste of time and material.
